“Gabrielle was wonderful while we were away. She kept in contact the whole time. We gave her a lot of details for Bowie’s care before we left. She followed them precisely and asked questions if anything came up that we did not tell her. We got lots of pics and updates. We felt at ease knowing Bowie was being well cared for. When bad weather was predicted for our return date she stayed with him way past when we had agreed upon to make sure we were safely en route home before leaving him. About: I am currently a German Shepherd mom, but I have experience owning and training dogs of all sizes! The most important thing I have learned in my experience with dogs is that they are all different regardless of breed. I cannot wait to build a bond with your furry friend and give them the care they deserve! Additionally, I have received professional training for use of an e-collar and prong collar, should your furry friend need to be walked with either of those. On the weekdays, I usually get home around 6:30, and I like to go for a leisurely walk as opposed to the gym, so it would be the perfect time to walk your furry friend! Additionally, I work as a grad student in a research lab, and I make my own work schedule. So, my schedule is relatively flexible, and I can be available in the early morning or late night if need be. I own a German shepherd, so I am very experienced in providing the time and attention necessary to stimulate and occupy your furry friend during our walks. Additionally, the apartment complex I live in has a private dog park that your furry friend can be taken to if you’re interested.

About: I have loved animals all my life. Since I was a young boy, I was raised around my family’s and my own cats, dogs, and all different kinds of pets. Dogs is my specialty, but I know what it takes to properly take care of and handle various different kinds of pets. I have my own beautiful dog, Ziya who is a 4 year old Belgian Malinois and Akita mix and I have had her since she was 8 weeks old. I personally trained her as well while I was in the military, which also gave me more knowledge on dog training and handling. I’m currently a full time student so I have more than enough time to pet sit. I am only unavailable on Tuesdays because I have my in-person class those days. I have my own home with a pet as well so I know what it takes to take care of the home and pets as well. I am very comfortable with other people pets and rules and boundaries with their animals, as I know ever animals deserves their respect and care they need.

About: I’ve had dogs and cats since I was a kid of multiple breeds. I have learned that the best way to care for a pet is to make sure they are happy, healthy, and loved! I’m currently working from home and spend most of my time at home with my dog Rocco! My schedule is very flexible so I get to take my dog out often and would love the opportunity to spend time with even more pups and cats. I have a fenced yard, a cage, and I keep a close eye on the pets that I am caring for. I treat every pet as if it’s my own and make sure they have water at all times and access to bathroom as needed.

I am an animal interactoinist. I just have a good open sense of character when it comes to animals. I enjoy the love they give and I am in tune with their individual personalities. I have a calm demeanor and I'm am very sensitive to their needs. I love to verbally communicate with them like I do with my human counterparts. I love to walk them especially as a part of my exercise regiment. I love to feed them at their meal times. I love when they are excited to eat! I also enjoy longer than 30 min walks so that the dogs have time to stop and smell and do the things they do. I don't like to rush them during their normal routine. They deserve the best at all times. My consistent daily routine, including feeding, walks, and playtime, helps your pet feel secure and reduces anxiety. I do also start the day with a walk, playtime, or a brief cuddle session to bond with your pet and provide them with exercise and mental stimulation. To foster safety, trust, and a positive environment for your dog, I do provide a stable routine, establish a safe space, and create a bond through positive reinforcement and socialization.

I feel very comfortable knowing that they—and my home—are in her hands. If you need more information, read on! I reached out to Vanessa to pet-sit in my home, including overnight stays, for three days. Given her background working at the EASEL shelter and her interest in special education and social work, I thought she would be an especially good fit for my two dogs: my eight-year-old, 80-pound poodle mix and my four-month-old, 15-pound Miniature American Shepherd puppy.
 I was somewhat anxious about leaving a young puppy with a sitter. At four months old, puppies are still learning, and I knew that inconsistent handling could easily lead to the development of unwanted habits. From our very first meeting, however, Vanessa gave me confidence that my dogs were in good hands.
 At our Meet & Greet, my large poodle mix approached Vanessa with his big, loud, deep bark. It was the first time he had ever met her and she handled the introduction beautifully. Rather than immediately trying to engage with him, she remained calm and allowed him the time and space to figure out that she was not a threat. She didn't overreact or become nervous, and the interaction went very well.
 When she met the puppy, who immediately started jumping on her, I said, "Off," at the same moment Vanessa said, "Down." She immediately adjusted and began using "Off" as well. That small moment told me a lot. It was clear that she was paying attention to the puppy's development and understood how important consistency is when training a young dog. She listened carefully to my concerns and gave me thoughtful feedback, which reassured me that she truly understood what I was looking for.
 While I was away, Vanessa sent me pictures and videos of the dogs eating both breakfast and dinner. This was especially reassuring with a four-month-old puppy because it confirmed that they were being fed at the appropriate times. I trust the sitters I hire, but I also appreciate having confirmation that they've arrived and knowing that important parts of the dogs' routine are being followed. I've had sitters in the past who didn't provide that kind of communication, leaving me wondering whether they had arrived or whether something unexpected had prevented them from getting there. A simple picture or message eliminates that unnecessary anxiety for me, and Vanessa was excellent about keeping me informed.
 After I returned, I asked Vanessa if she would be willing to sit again in a couple of weeks. She adjusted her schedule to accommodate my dates, which I thought was incredibly considerate and definitely above and beyond the call of duty!
 As I watched Vanessa interact with the dogs after spending three days with them, I could see that she understood the importance of correcting the puppy when necessary and, just as importantly, knew how to do it appropriately. She didn't overreact, but she also didn't let things slide. She was consistent about using the correct commands, which is particularly important with a puppy who is learning what is expected of her. I now have a list of obedience commands that I can leave for Vanessa on her next visit, and I have complete confidence that she will use them consistently.
 When I returned home, I found the house exactly as I had left it. Vanessa had even stripped the bed in the guest room, making it easier for me to wash the sheets. That small gesture was another example of how thoughtful and considerate she was throughout her stay.
 Vanessa is attentive, thoughtful, responsible, and genuinely caring. She clearly understands dogs, but what impressed me most was her attentiveness to my puppy's development and her willingness to follow through consistently with the training and routines I had established.
 I highly recommend Vanessa as a pet sitter and would absolutely have her care for my dogs again. I feel very comfortable knowing that they—and my home—are in her hands.”

I understand how important pets are to a family and will treat your pet like my own while providing safe, loving, and reliable care. I work Monday- Friday from home so your baby will almost never be alone while staying over. My morning normally begins around 6a.m. With my day ending around midnight. *Please note for sittings I unable to stay overnight. I have a large fenced in yard perfect for catching some sun rays and getting the zoomies out. I do have a pup. However if you would like them to be separated I can keep them separated on different floors in my home.
