“Kayla was amazing with our girl! She wasn’t afraid to ask questions and did all the meds perfectly. What a wonderful feeling to have peace of mind when leaving our fur baby with her. Thank you Kayla!”

“Christina‘s passion for dogs is evident when you first meet her. Her house is set up to accommodate the dogs. She has a kitty pool for them to play in their backyard. She takes them on walks twice a day and is very loving towards the dogs. She effectively communicated the entire time we were out of town sending pictures and updates. I would very much consider using her again.”

“Wonderful dog sitter! Reliable, caring, and clearly loves animals. My dog was happy, well cared for, and I had complete peace of mind while I was away. I would absolutely book again.”

“Monica is wonderful! She sent lots of updates and picture everyday. My girls were well cared for and had lots of play and snuggle time. I would recommend Monica to anyone and I will continue to book with her in the future.”
“Sam was so good about giving us multiple updates and pictures throughout the day. It always looked like Millie was doing great. Sam was very responsive and I would definitely use again.”

“Chris and his wife are such a lovely couple. They are very welcoming and accommodative. They are very responsive and professional. They took care of our dog very well, I could see it in the pics they shared. They have a great house with yard for dogs to play. My dog had fun while he was there. Would love to keep my little one with them again for sure.”

“This was my first time ever using Rover, and since I had a long trip, I really had no choice but to find someone to take care of Oreo. I was honestly super nervous at first — it was my first time being away from him for this long, and I had so many worries in my head. I kept wondering if he would feel comfortable, if he would eat well, or if he would miss home too much. But Mihee and her family made everything so much easier. They took such good care of Oreo and really helped me relax during my trip. They sent tons of photos and videos every day, always kept me updated, and let me know how he was doing — what he ate, how he played, how he was feeling. I really appreciated the communication and the patience they had with him. Oreo looked so happy staying with them, like he actually enjoyed his little “vacation.” It didn’t feel like he was just being watched — it felt like he was staying with people who genuinely cared. I’m really thankful for Mihee and her family. For my first Rover experience, this honestly couldn’t have gone better, and I’d definitely book with them again in the future.”

“It was a great experience working with Maureen and her husband. They are very welcoming and receptive. Our puppies felt right at home with them and it seem's like they did not skip a beat in their routines and play time. Will be calling them in the future for sure.”

“Myriam is EXCELLENT! Cant recommend enough!! Her and her family watched my pup for 11 days while we went on our honeymoon, and we couldn't have asked for a better family to take care of him!! We got regular updates and cute pictures of our pup throughout his little vacation, which was great to see, since we missed him so much. Myriam really did welcome our pup into her family and clearly made it fun for him, bringing him on lots of walks and giving him tons of play time with other dogs. Also, all basic logistics and coordination conversations went very smoothly and worry-free which is a big part of making the whole experience just perfect. I will definitely be re-booking with Myriam next time we travel!”

“Carol and her husband were great. We were on a cruise, so didn’t have access to cell service but still received picture updates throughout the stay. I was very pleased with their hospitality and care they showed towards my dog. This was the first time in a long time I’ve had to board my pet, so I was hesitant with the process. But after meeting them and their own dogs, I was relieved with the process and situations. My dog is a Jack Russell puppy, so he has an abundant amount of energy and I hope that he wasn’t too much trouble for them. If I need boarding again, I will definitely see if Carol and her husband are available and willing to take my dog again. Thanks again!”

“Brittany was amazing as always. She took such good care of Shadow and I could see all the fun he was having. She sends lots of updates and gives me peace of mind knowing I have an amazing dog sitter whenever I am out.”

“Would definitely book again! Many updates given, ensured that my dog was taken care of and let me know if any concerns she had. Also was very flexible when I had to extend the stay. 10/10”

“Amy and her family are truly amazing! They embraced my girls as if they were their own, which means so much to me. I’m incredibly grateful to have found someone so caring and nurturing. Thank you, Amy, for your kindness!”

“What a wonderful time Ash had with Kristen and Jeffrey! We received plenty of photos and updates per day, which made us feel connected while we were gone. They are definitely our first choice for a pet sitter when we go out of town again.”

“Deuce absolutely loves going and getting spoiled while at Delys’. She keeps us up to date/sends pictures and is great with him. Will definitely leave Deuce with her again!”

“Rachel and her husband Josh were so awesome while we were gone for the week. She was quick to respond, sent adorable pics of my pups which my daughters loved, took them on walks. My dogs looked like they had been on vacation when I went to pick them up. :) will definitely be booking her again!”

Heather has watched our sweet-but-very-anxious dog a few times and she is amazing! Our dog definitely requires more tlc, and Heather is so thoughtful and accommodating with her. This most recent trip, our dog was calm the whole time, which is great! Heather genuinely loves dogs and you can see that in her care.

We feel incredibly fortunate to have found such wonderful sitters for our older German Shepherd. Kristen and Jeff always give him exceptional care, attention, and love while we’re away, which gives us complete peace of mind. We couldn’t recommend them more highly!

Most importantly, I felt completely comfortable leaving my lab with Kayla. It was his first time staying with her and usually most would be nervous, I wasn’t. I could tell she genuinely enjoying having my lab stay there. I will be reaching out to Kayla from now on whenever I go out of town.

Can't give enough thanks for how wonderful Ernesto, Joan and the whole family are in taking care of our pup while away. 5 Stars for communication and care indeed. So grateful we found such a nice family to watch over our pup when we have to travel - knowing he's in such safe hands and having a great time all the same.

We are so grateful for the wonderful care Deborah gave our dog! She kept us updated with photos and messages, and it was clear our baby was happy, comfortable, and well loved. We especially appreciated how clean and well cared for she was when we picked her up. We would absolutely trust her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and reliable dog sitter.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in TX ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
