Pet care experience

Dedicated to the dog life🐾

Ever since I can remember dogs have been the center of my life. I grew up with a German Shepard who gave me confidence walking any dog early on. I worked at an animal hospital for over a year, where I cared for boarding and recovering pets and assisted during exams and surgeries. That experience gave me confidence with dogs of all temperaments, including those with anxiety or special needs. I have been pet sitting for over 10 years now and have cared for many dogs through friends, work, church, and Rover, and I understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone you trust. My dog is extremely important to me like my own child, and she has separation anxiety. I take that responsibility seriously and always aim to create a safe, comfortable, and low-stress environment where your dog feels at home while you’re away. I pay close attention to each dog’s routine, behavior, and individual needs so they feel secure and well cared for. I also intentionally limit how many dogs I take at a time to make sure each one receives personalized attention, plenty of care, and a calm, well-supervised environment. I send regular updates and photos so you can feel confident and connected while you’re away.

Maddy took good care of our dog while we were out of town for two days. She has a nice house with a big yard, and he was happy and healthy when we picked him up. Thank you Maddy!

Highly recommend. You know your dog had a good time when all they want to do is sleep when they get home. I left my lab with Maddy for a long weekend and she was very flexible when my drop off and pickup times fluctuated. Will be reaching out again.

Schedule

Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine, as I have a dog of my own and prioritize spending time, walks, and consistent care each day. I’m up early each morning to feed, walk, and spend time with the dogs before work. I work a daytime schedule but typically get off earlier than 5, and I go straight home to let the dogs out, give them attention, and keep their routine consistent. Because I work outdoors, I am often off or home earlier on days with bad weather, which allows me to spend even more time with the dogs. When I’m home, I’m fully present with them—whether that’s going on walks, spending time outside, or just relaxing together. I make sure each dog gets regular potty breaks, attention, and a consistent routine so they feel comfortable and well cared for throughout their stay.

Safety, trust & environment

I provide a clean, safe, and comfortable home environment where dogs can relax and feel at ease. I live in a one-story, clutter-free home with a fully fenced backyard that is great for supervised outdoor time and play. Dogs are allowed on furniture so they feel at home, but I’m happy to follow your preferences and keep their routine consistent if you’d prefer otherwise. I have blankets, beds, toys, and extra water bowls that are always kept clean and filled with filtered water. I keep a limited number of dogs in my home to maintain a calm, well-supervised environment and ensure each dog is properly cared for. I pay close attention to behavior and interactions so every dog stays safe, comfortable, and stress-free during their stay. You’re always welcome to bring anything from home that helps your dog feel more comfortable, and I do my best to create a space that feels familiar and secure for them.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day includes a mix of activity, outdoor time, and relaxation based on each dog’s needs. I live right on Panther Creek with access to a beautiful lake and walking trails, so walks are a regular part of the day. Dogs also get time outside in the backyard for fresh air, play, and supervised outdoor time. Throughout the day, we incorporate play like fetch, tug-of-war, and basic training or practicing tricks, along with plenty of time to relax and feel at home inside. I like to be present with the dogs, whether that’s spending time outside with them or just letting them unwind in a calm environment. I adjust each day based on your dog’s personality and energy level, and I’m always happy to incorporate any routines or activities they’re used to so they feel comfortable and cared for.

Please let me know any important details about your dog ahead of time so I can provide the best care possible. This includes whether they are fully potty trained, how they do with other dogs, and if they have any aggressive tendencies or behavioral concerns. It’s also helpful to know if your dog tends to bolt out doors, pull on leash, or react to other dogs or people during walks. Any information about routines, feeding schedules, or preferences is always appreciated so I can keep their stay as consistent and stress-free as possible.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
