“Zoe was great with our three dogs! One of our pups has special needs and another needs medication, and she handled everything really well. She kept us updated with pictures and communicated throughout the stay, which gave us a lot of peace of mind while we were away. The dogs were happy, well cared for, and the house looked great when we got home. We’d definitely book with Zoe again!”

“Once again Norma was amazing! She was so flexible with us having to change our flight and stay later than anticipated. Leonard, our cockapoo just adores her and her pup Foxy. We love Norma!”

“Makayla did a fantastic job taking care of our 11 year old Yorkie. Rosie was very comfortable with Makayla from the very first meet and greet. She commented well during her stay with texts and photos. We have her booked two more time in May.”

“This was our first experience with Rover. Our senior boy Hobbes is pretty easy but does need attention. Abby was wonderful!! Our home was in great shape and Hobbes was happy. Thank you Abby!!!”

“After our regular pet sitter canceled on short notice I found Taylor through the app. She was extremely responsive and even offered to come meet the pets prior to watching them for the weekend. She took great care of our pets at our home, and communicated with us to let us know the pets were doing well while we were gone. I highly recommend her. We will be using Taylor again for sure.”

About: I love spending time with dogs, cats and all babies alike. Your babies will be my babies and I will love them and treat them as my own. I have cared for pups and cats of all ages and circumstances. Your wish is my command I am retired and have a flexible schedule to be able to care for your babies. I will enjoy spending time with them fully for sure! I have a fully fenced backyard and am always aware of the surroundings to make sure that they are always safe and well care for.

“Professional, reliable, and clearly loves dogs- even nervous little Yorkies who bark a lot :) I returned from vacation to find my house cleaner than I left it. Highly recommend!”

“For a first-time Rover user with a slightly anxious Cat, it was important for me to find the right sitter. Cherie is kind, empathetic and caring and set my mind at rest. I asked for more communication and she kept me updated on how my cat was doing. I plan to use her again in the coming weeks, but from this initial experience, I highly recommend Cherie to anyone looking for a genuine and warm cat sitter who takes care of your pet (and home) in a personable and trustworthy manner. Thank you, Cherie!”

“Elizabeth took such great care of our dogs while we were away. She was diligent about their feeding schedule and kept in touch with pictures and updates. I’ll definitely use her again!”

About: I’ve grown up with three German Shorthaired pointers! One of them is now 12 years old and needs a little more attention, but he’s still as healthy as can be and the sweetest pup ever! I work another part time job, however will devote all of my time outside of that to caring for any and every pet in my custody. I always feed my dogs on time and refill their water bowl after every use because those can get dirty fast! Lots of pets and plenty of attention for every dog in my care! Also super willing to stay outside with any dog for as long as they want to ensure they’re safe and sound as they roam and do their thing!
“Aiden was a great help watching Mickie when I went on vacation. My flight home got delayed 2 days due to weather and he was able to extend his stay and take care of her until I got back.”

“Absolutely wonderful. This was my first occasion having a sitter. She was knowledgeable, courteous, friendly, prompt and followed all instructions to the letter. 5 STARS!”

About: I have had dogs since I was a child and have always cared for them. I've always wanted to take care of new dogs I work from Sunday to Tuesday, as the other days I work at my job. But there are some other Wednesdays that I make available when a reservation is made. I always like to ask the owner what things his puppy likes to do and how much he usually eats, to always treat him as he deserves it
“Kristin and Jeff did a great job taking care of my critters while I was on vacation. I have several pets that are on medication, and aren't always cooperative about taking their meds. They dealt with their grumpy behavior and managed to keep everyone on the right schedule. They also made sure my dog got her morning walks and visited with her friends - in spite of this awful heat. In addition, Kristin noticed a lump near my dog's ear (which wasn't there when I left) and notified me so that I could call and make a vet appointment, which I really appreciated. I would definitely recommend them, and will use them again for my future travels.”

“Julie was amazing! We will definitely be using her again. She stayed at our home to make sure our pups were comfortable and happy. Julie was responsive in communication, respectful of our home and lovingly attentive to Bowie and Piper. Great overall experience!”

“Rose is a gem. 💛 This was our first time using a pet sitting service and I was honestly hesitant about having someone stay in our home for five nights. But the second we did the meet-and-greet and Biscuit (my heart in Labradoodle form) immediately decided Rose was a good person… I knew we were going to be okay. While we were gone, Rose kept us so well updated and made it easy to actually relax. She took Biscuit on walks, gave her lots of love and attention, and she was so sweet and thoughtful with our senior schnauzer, Piper. You can tell she truly cares. We came home to happy pups and peace of mind, and that’s everything. We’ll 100% book Rose again.”

“Stacy took great care of my fur baby! She sent me daily updates and pictures of him, and made sure to spend so much time giving him attention. This was my first time leaving Bentley, and I felt so comfortable leaving him in such great hands! She even took him on extra walks, and I couldn’t be more grateful :)”

About: I started dog walking and pet sitting at 18 as a way to pay rent during COVID. Like anyone learning on the job, I made some mistakes in the beginning, but over the past 6 years, I’ve made a complete 180 — gaining valuable knowledge and refining my skills to care for animals the right way. Now at 24 and working toward becoming a veterinarian, this has grown from a job into a true passion. I combine experience, education, and genuine love for animals to provide the best care possible for your furry friends. My schedule varies weekly, so I update my calendar regularly to ensure you can easily book dog walking and sitting services whenever you need it. When walking dogs, I always bring a water dispenser and doggy bags, so you don’t have to worry about a thing. For dog boarding, your dog will feel right at home! Dogs are welcome on the furniture unless you prefer otherwise, following your training guidelines. I provide potty breaks every 2–4 hours and extra walks for energetic pups to burn off energy. Bedtime is at 8 PM, with the last walk of the day to help your dog settle in comfortably.
“I can’t say enough good things about Alexis. My cat Gizzy adores her. He’s had some health challenges recently, and Alexis can handle the prescription food, medicine, and is very aware of everything with Gizzy and watching to ensure he is feeling okay.”

The median cost per night for house sitting in The Woodlands is $45

We couldn’t have asked for a better dog sitter for Bentley! Stacy stayed in our home with him while we were away, and we felt completely at ease knowing he was in such loving and trustworthy hands. She took such great care of Bentley and were incredibly respectful of our home. She kept us updated, gave Bentley lots of love and attention, and made sure he stayed comfortable and happy throughout our time away. Coming home to a happy, well-cared-for pup and a home exactly as we left it meant so much to us. We are so grateful and would absolutely recommend her to anyone looking for someone reliable, caring, and trustworthy. We will definitely be booking with Stacy again!

After our regular pet sitter canceled on short notice I found Taylor through the app. She was extremely responsive and even offered to come meet the pets prior to watching them for the weekend. She took great care of our pets at our home, and communicated with us to let us know the pets were doing well while we were gone. I highly recommend her. We will be using Taylor again for sure.

Victoria is always our first call when we have to be away. We trust her 100% with our kitty and our house. Our cat is the one who tells us that she's a great sitter--Victoria is the only sitter we've ever had where our cat doesn't act "mad" at us after we return home! (If you have a cat, you know what I mean.) I am going to keep listening to my cat and calling Victoria! She also has fantastic communication and is very professional--all our interactions with her are a pleasure.

Emily did a perfect job while dog sitting overnight for me! She made sure to stick to my dog’s schedule and sent me plenty of photos and updates while I was away. I came home to happy dogs and a clean house. She is the sweetest. I definitely recommend going through her for any dog sitting needs!

Kristen and Jeffrey did a great job house sitting and taking care of our two dogs for three nights. They were reliable, took care of our home, and cared for our dogs very well. They gave updates through the day and lots of cute photos. We came back to happy pups and everything in great shape. We would definitely recommend them and would be happy to have them help again in the future.

Clara took great care of our three dogs, including one with special needs. She stayed in communication with us, sent updates, and made us feel so comfortable while we were away. Our dogs were happy and well cared for, and our home was in perfect shape when we returned. We would absolutely book her again!

Adriana did a fantastic job caring for my dogs. This was a challenging assignment because my dogs are very high energy and it rained quite a bit while she was sitting. I came home to a spotless home and clean happy dogs. Towels to dry the dogs were washed and folded as were the bed sheets. I couldn't be happier with the service she provided. I will certainly use her again and recommend her to others.

Meredith was an outstanding pet sitter! She clearly loves animals and her calm and caring demeanor let us vacation worry free knowing our pets were in great hands. Super flexible too-when our sneaky young Basset escaped his makeshift kennel she communicated right away and we were able to figure out a solution no problem. Highly recommend!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred The Woodlands walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in The Woodlands maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in The Woodlands choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
