“I had the best experience having Juliana check in on my Yorkie. She paid attention to detail and was very communicative to make sure my dog had the best care. I will continue to use her!”

“Natalie was amazing with my dog Ralo! He was so happy to see her, and she gave him so much love and attention during their visit. She stayed the full hour, sent plenty of updates, and even took him for a walk. I felt completely at ease knowing he was in great hands. Highly recommend — I’ll definitely be booking her again!”

“Alexis was fantastic! She was great with my dog and communicated very well about when she was visiting and how the dog was doing. Would 100% recommend her to anyone looking for a dog sitter!”

“Dorian was beyond Great!! He went above and beyond in his caring for our fur babies, Mr Wilson (basset hound) and Squeaks our cat. All I can say is Dorian exceeded our expectations on every Level! Rover was actually a "Vacation Saver" since our family member backed out of caring for our pets at the last minute. I will book Dorian again and recommend him and Rover to anyone who needs pet care. Book Dorian, you will be so happy you found him!”

About: I’m a former CVA student. I have 2 little fur babies at home myself!! I’ve experienced several years working with dogs from nail trimming to bathing and walking! When i have some free time away from college i would love to care for dogs and make them feel comfortable and a sense of safety. I walk my dogs and feed them my dogs daily. When they’re is any sort of problem the vet is up the street to help out
About: I have been pet sitting for years now, and I have also worked at 2 dog kennels. I have a lot of experience with older dogs and high-energy dogs. I have also cat-sat quite a bit, and I currently live with my roommate's cat. I am an intern at a wildlife sanctuary here in florida so I am well equipped to deal with any type of animal. I am a University of Tampa student studying biology and environmental science. I am doing research at the university this summer from 6 am to around 11 am, Monday through Friday. I am available any afternoon to help out with pets or anytime on the weekend. I have my own dog at home who is very clingy, so I understand how important it is to show dogs love, especially when their owners aren’t around. I am completely comfortable staying over at your house so that your dog doesn’t have to be moved to a new environment.
About: I have always grown up with dogs and cats in my house since I was a kid. And ever since middle school, pet sitting has been my favorite side hustle. I have cared for cats and dogs, big and small old and young, and those that have had extra dietary/medication needs. I have worked with difficult pets and I’m happy to play and be patient with pets that need extra love and attention. I am currently a medical student and my classes usually run for only half the day. My afternoons and evenings are generally flexible and, and I’m open to coming by in the morning before classes would start or afterwards for a mid day-afternoon visit. I can accommodate whatever needs you and your pet may have depending on your home. I have no problem crating pets if needed. Please don’t hesitate to ask or specify any needs you may have.

Oh my gosh Jenna was absolutely amazing! She took such good care of my cat Tiki, my cat was going through a medical situation throughout the time Jenna was watching her and she handled it so well and I came back from vacation to a much healthier cat! I’m so impressed by her communication and tender care towards my cat. I will hire her again in a heartbeat and recommend her to anybody!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
