“Sherri was amazing! She played with my two kitties every visit which I really appreciated. I asked her to help with a few things around the house that I forgot to do before I left and she was so willing to help and even offered to check my mail! She provided updates on how my kitties were doing and took great pictures too. I felt confident my kitties were being well taken care of while I was out of town for a few days. I'll definitely be reaching out to Sherri again to look after my kitties when I go out of town next time!”

“Trevor did an excellent job of caring for my two shy 11 year old cats. The daily photos and comments were very reassuring. Trevor's demeanor and experience were evident at our meet and greet prior to the drop in visits. Much nicer for the cats than a boarding kennel. I was quite pleased with Trevor and Rover. I recommend both and will use them again.”

“Stacey watched our cats for a week while we were traveling. She is so caring and thoughtful about the cats of makes it easier for us to be away from them. Absolutely recommend booking Stacey to take care of your pets!!! She is the best.”

“Anna did a great job caring for our two cats while we were away. Her communication and attention to detail are amazing. She handled the litter, food, loving the cats as well as playing with them. She also administered the one cats daily prescription medication (which isn't easy!) We will definitely book again! Thanks Anna!”

I always send photos and updates so you can feel relaxed while you’re away. Your pet’s safety, happiness and comfort are always my priority. During the week I am available in the mornings and early afternoons (8 AM – 4:30 PM). I attend classes from 5:30 PM to 8:15 PM, but I am available again in the evenings after that if needed. On weekends I have more flexibility and can work mornings or afternoons. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for. When I stay in a pet owner’s home, I follow their routines and instructions carefully to keep their pets relaxed and happy. I treat every pet with patience, love, and respect, just like they were my own.

About: I’ve lived and taken care of dogs and cats my whole life, all being from shelters. As a vegan I believe in animal rights and welfare and will always treat your animals the same way I’d treat a human. I am starting the summer semester at USF but I think it’s important to stay active and I think this is a great way to. I’ve recently moved from Texas and I’m missing my babies so a little quality time with some puppies or cats would be great Scheduled feeding and potty breaks are welcome and playtime is always guaranteed. I always make sure that my pets have enough water so I will do the same for yours.

Sherri has been absolutely amazing with my kitties! I asked her to see them last second and she quickly responded. She sends great pictures and plays with my kitties with the toys she brings, and they love it! I always feel at ease when she visits my kitties while I'm out of town. I highly recommend Sherri!!!

Nakisha was so nice and easy to work with! I reached out to her last minute on a holiday weekend and she was able to take the booking and schedule a meet-and-greet all within a short time frame. While we were gone, she updated us every day with pictures and description of our cat’s attitude/well being. I felt completely at ease with her handling the care of our cat and will definitely be using her from here on out!! Hiring Nakisha is a blessing for your pet care

We couldn’t be happier with our pet sitter! They were reliable, communicative, and genuinely caring with our pet. We received regular updates and photos, which gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. Our pet was happy, well cared for, and clearly loved. We highly recommend them to anyone looking for a trustworthy and compassionate pet sitter.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Gibsonton. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 97% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
