“Margaret was beyond sweet and accommodating, she took excellent care of my senior pup and gave her plenty of attention, care, and exceptional feedback. We’re new to the area and will only book with her, she's earned a trusted client. Highly recommend Margaret for any pet sitting needs!”

“Ryan and Martha took wonderful care of my dog. They treated her as a member of their family. They took her for walks and sent daily pictures. I will certainly ask them to care for Ella again when needed.”

“Ruby is awesome! Our first time booking with her, and definitely not the last. Leaving your pups for a week isn’t the easiest, but we were at ease with all the great Snapchat video/picture updates that we got daily and good communication from her. Ruby really took good care of our Nala and Riley and I know they had a great time with all the other guests. Can’t wait for them to come back!”
“Alicia does a spectacular job caring for our beloved dog, Modi, when we are out of town. He has stayed with her numerous times and always seems to be at ease during & after his stays. I think we speak for Modi to describe Alicia as a, “kindred & gentle soul.” We highly recommend Alicia services as she is dependable, mature, and consistent. It is also clear how much she loves animals. Thank you, Alicia, for another great stay! We are already looking at booking additional dates!!”

“Katie and Samuel were great to Jarvis and sent us several updates throughout his stay. They also have a gated backyard to help with energetic dogs. I would highly reccomend!”

“Suellen was so great to Ari! She kept me updated with photos and videos and was very lenient with pick up/drop off times!! I would 100% recommend Suellen!!!”

“Mary took our dog for our wedding weekend and she was great! Pugsy had a great time with her dog, going on a walk, and going to the dog park! She sent pictures and we did not worry about Pugsy at all! We will definitely book with Mary in the future!”

“Tonisha was wonderful! Ollie was able to meet Tonisha and her dog before booking to determine compatibility. Tonisha sent frequent photos of Ollie to showcase that he was doing well in her care. Ollie and I would be fortunate to have Tonisha care for Ollie again.”

“David was/is amazing! Why? He was responsive and accommodating. His extensive knowledge of dogs was clear when we met him - we knew our pups were in good hands. We received daily updates and in each photo the dogs looked like they were having the time of their lives and/or taking a nap on David’s lap 😂. We live downtown Madison and I could tell our pups enjoyed the beautiful country property as they came back tired and content! As a former Rover, I would highly recommend David to anyone looking for a sitter. 10/10!!”

About: I have had all sorts of animals my whole life and worked at a vet clinic for a year! My very first animal was a Pygmy goat! I currently have a pug and chihuahua/jack Russel! I have worked with all ages, can teach tricks with puppies, or cuddle all day with the seniors. We have a fenced area in the backyard with a doggy door, so fur babies can go out whenever! We also have a crate and take daily walks! I have a fenced yard with a doggy door that is very secure. I also have a dog cam set up if we ever step out! There is always myself or my bf home, and my two fur babies are friendly and (lazy), they have been around dogs and cats their whole life! We have a crate if that’s needed!

About: I wanted a dog all my life, and I wish that I could say that I grew up with a dog, but my dad was allergic. Whenever I had the opportunity to care for neighbors' pets, I did and knew that I would adopt a dog as soon as I was a real adult (and financially stable). As soon as I moved from California and landed a permanent job, I adopted an Akita puppy. She (Clipsy) was my only family in the Midwest for 14 years, and I couldn't have loved her more. Our second dog, Zuki, is a rescue from Texas. Because she's a rescue, she has some anxiety whenever we leave, so I understand what it's like to want the best care for your pet (not in a kennel). Zuki loves friend dogs, so one reason we're dogsitting is because we want her to enjoy the company of another dog. Her bestie passed away from old age last year, and she would welcome company. Both my husband and I are animal lovers, of course. Zuki is mixed breed (cattle dog, lab, pyrenees, etc.), medium-sized dog who regularly plays at dog parks and is well socialized. I think that she would get along with any other non-aggressive adult dog as long as they go on a short walk together first. She might be uncertain about puppies. It's always best to meet in neutral territory, and we would prefer a quick preliminary meeting with our dogs before the actual dogsitting date. We also have 9 chickens, and Zuki is trained to guard them from hawks or other predators. We realize that most dogs will chase chickens, so your dog would be on a leash or the chickens will be cooped if your dog wants to explore the relatively large backyard. If your dog finds chicken poop tasty, they will be closely supervised because...you know. My husband works remotely, and I teach but am relatively free in the summer. Thus, we have time to make sure that you dog is comfortable in our house and gets attention & frequent potty breaks. The Winnequah Dream Park is one block away, and we normally go for 1-2 walks every day. We have three dog beds scattered throughout the house, so you don't have to lug along your dog bed if it's inconvenient. We also have spare dog bowls, leashes, a ton of dog toys to share, and a tie-out rope. I'm happy to text photos/videos of your dog daily if you'd like. If you're not a fan of texts, I'll give you more space. Rest assured, we will do whatever we can to make your dog comfortable. What we'd require: -Please make sure that your dog is fully vaccinated & has flea & tick protection. Chickens eat ticks, but I'll still do regular tick checks on your dog if it's tick season. -Contact number for emergencies, and name and contact information of your vet. -Your dog's normal food and possibly meds. (Our dog is not food possessive, but we'd feed them separately.) -Any special information regarding diet or personality that would make your dog feel content while you are away. Thank you for your consideration, Tanya & Hutch P.S. We intend to only board one dog at a time to ensure that your pet gets plenty of attention. If you happen to have two dogs, then we would make an exception and board both dogs because it would be cruel to separate them, right? I teach, but in the summer I have lots of time to pamper your fur baby! My husband works remotely, so the two of us are at home most of the time. It's a relatively quiet, calm household since we don't have children to send off to school, etc. Zuki and I spend a lot of the time outside. She lounges in the fenced-in yard while I garden. She's a pretty mellow dog although she's always excited to meet a new friend. She gets along with almost all dogs although I would want to walk our dogs together on neutral territory rather than "surprising" Zuki at home with a dog she doesn't know. My husband and I normally go for 1-2 walks a day anyway since he needs to "reset" after staring at a computer all day. The Winnequah Dream Park is conveniently located a block away, so we usually walk there. If you have a senior or slower dog, we could take it easy. If you have a dog that requires more exercise, we're happy to accommodate. I, too, could use more exercise. ;)
“Tessa has been an absolute delight and I'm so glad to have trusted her with my Trixie. She helped celebrate Trixie's birthday and took her on so many walks and ample outside time! Highly recommend Tessa (and Tennessee)!”

“Jenny and her family did an excellent job watching Teddy and giving him the best experience during the holidays. It was even his birthday and they went above and beyond to throw a birthday party for him! We are so appreciative of how well Teddy was treated and all the photo updates were reassuring. Teddy is looking forward to his next stay! Highly recommend! 🤍”

“Toni is a very experienced and caring dog sitter. She communicated great and handled several challenging issues that came up with grace and excellent problem solving. I would recommend her without hesitation!”

“We had a wonderful experience! This family took excellent care of our mini goldendoodle while we were on vacation—so kind, attentive, and thoughtful. They sent plenty of pictures and updates, which gave us total peace of mind and showed he was happy and having fun. Highly recommend!”

“Al and Hannah were phenomenal! They were very responsive and sent a lot of updates through my dog's stay. It made me feel very comfortable leaving Cas with them, and I absolutely will again if the need arises. Highly recommend!”

“We boarded our dog Charlotte for three nights at Kayla's and are really happy that we did. Charlotte enjoyed her stay a lot, she was so tired after he fetched her! We got a lot of photo updates which we really appreciated. Overall, we'd totally board her again with with Kayla and her mum and would strongly recommend them!”

Meghan and her family took wonderful care of Yukon for me. They even took time out of their schedule to meet with me in advance to ensure she was comfortable with Yukon and he with them. I think that helped a great deal when I dropped him off as he was already familiar with her place. She also sent me pictures and kept me updated periodically, so that helped keep my mind at ease. Yukon especially enjoyed hanging out with her kids, as is reflected in the pictures she sent me. I won’t hesitate to use Meghan again in the future—if she’ll have Yukon. I would also recommend her to anyone looking for good, responsible pet care.

I had a great experience with our Rover sitters Val & Sherri) while I was away for a week. They took excellent care of Phoenix, kept me updated with photos and messages, and gave me peace of mind knowing he was in good hands. Phoenix came home happy, healthy, and clearly well cared for. I really appreciated their professionalism, communication, and genuine love for animals. I would definitely trust them with Phoenix again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for dependable pet care!

Rachael was very accommodating and sent lots of photos which we really appreciated! We were a little nervous that our dog wouldn’t get the attention she needed since Rachael cares for multiple dogs at a time, however it was clear that she took wonderful care of Cannoli! She followed our instructions and made sure Cannoli received specialized care. Our dog had a wonderful time and Rachael is fantastic to work with.

Gilian was nothing short of amazing with our pup, Carlton. She was very responsive to any communication during the booking & meet and greet process. She is friendly and very knowledgeable about dogs! She provided great care and navigated our dog's initial anxiety very well, all while keeping us updated every step of the way. Our family loved the daily updates and pictures she sent. Carlton came home happy as ever, and it was obvious that he was very well taken care of while we were gone. We will definitely be booking with Gilian again!

Lexi loved her time with Emma and Jacob! They both clearly care about dogs, and their own dogs are sweet and willing to share their spaces/things. They sent consistent updates with photos/videos, and were flexible with pickup/dropoff times. 10/10 highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in WI ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
