“Julie-Anne was an excellent dog sitter. She communicated very well. Sent photos & gave us up dates. She stayed at our house & gave our dogs love & snuggles. We will use Julie-Anne again.”

“Linh is fantastic! She house sat for our two pups while we were on vacation for a week. I'm usually nervous about leaving our pups with a new sitter, especially after we had a bad experience with one (not thru Rover) a few years back. But Linh's knowledge and calm, confident demeanor instilled confidence in me so I was able to relax and enjoy our vacation. She sent updates and frequent photos throughout the week. Not only did she leave our house the way we left it, but she washed all of the sheets and towels which was not expected but very much appreciated. We will be using her again for our next vacation and I know the pups will be excited to see her again!”

About: I’ve had cats since I was 8 years old. With the 16 years of experience with cats, I believe every fur baby needs a home away from home. Like with every pet parent, I strive for the best with my cat. If you choose me to watch your fur baby, I will provide the best and safest environment for them. Do they need a room to themselves? You got it. Has explosive diarrhea? I have cleaning supplies. Medical issues? Another way to keep me on my toes. I hope you consider me as a prospective aunt to your kitter cat or doggo and can’t wait to fill up my camera role with adorable pictures. I look forward to hearing from you 💕 I am a grad student at Brandeis University. My classes are usually over by 2 pm, so after then I’m usually at my apartment caring for my cat and completing schoolwork. So needless to say, I have a lot of flexibility within my schedule for your pets individual needs. If I am doing home visits, I would like to visit the clients home a day or two prior to the arranged visit(s) to understand the animals needs and to see if we would be a good fit. I believe it is important to establish an understanding with the animal in question before I frequent the premises so there isn’t any unnecessary stress for your pet. In regards to boarding, I have a medium sized apartment that would be good for any cat or small-medium dog. There are multiple grassy areas for bathroom breaks and walks around the premises. You will have to provide me with your animals usual schedule (times for bathroom breaks, when and how much time are committed to walks, feeding times, etc.) so I can build my set around them and their needs

“Becki went and above and beyond while house sitting and taking care of our beloved tripod. She took such good care of our pup. She followed all instructions and requests and even took her out on additional walks. Becki is the best!”

About: I grew up with three dogs, have dog-sat for neighbors, and lived with a cat that I helped care for. I am very energetic and I have cared for puppies and both large and small dogs. I have a full time job with some flexibility, so I am free most evenings/nights and all of Saturday. My Sunday availability is in the morning to mid-day. I am happy to play with and entertain pets, and follow your instructions on feeding, walks, and house rules. I have had an anxious dog, so I want to make sure your pet is comfortable.
“Eric cares or our pups like they are his own. Our younger one can be skittish with new people but took to him right away. And Eric cheerfully puts up with our old fellow's senility and the challenges yhat brings. We feel very fortunate to have found him!”

“I wish I could give more than 5 stars! Robert went above and beyond in every way. He took our dog on multiple walks a day, sent pictures and updates, and kept in great communication the entire time. He’s incredibly easy to work with and clearly cares about animals. Our dog had the best time with him—and to top it off, Robert left our home even cleaner than when we left!”

“Melissa took very good care of Louie - sleeping and just hanging out with him. He seemed quite content and calm when I returned. The house looked in great shape when I returned. I would recommend her highly.”

I want to schedule walks adhoc during the day or after work! When entering a clients home I will treat the area with care, make sure to lock up, check for water for the animal. I will do my best to find an appropriate outdoor/garage trash for the waste as well.
“So appreciate having Susannah care for our little Maggie at our home. Maggie was well taken care off and quickly connected to Susannah. Susannah has a lovely personality- was responsive and dependable. We look forward to having her back.”

“Marlin stayed with Alyssa for the weekend and had such a good time! She sent multiple photos during his stay and took great care of him. Would definitely book again with her again. Thank you!”

About: I’ve lived and worked with dogs my whole life; big and small, young and old, and a variety of breeds. I started walking friends’ and neighbors’ dogs on my own as a teenager, and I first stayed over as a dog sitter not long after that. Over the years, I’ve gotten quick at reading what a dog needs in the moment, whether that’s more physical activity, some quiet space, or just reassurance and time, and giving them exactly that. I’m comfortable handling the messier and more unpredictable parts of the job too, from accidents to nervous or anxious behavior, without missing a beat. More than anything, I love spending time with animals, and I can’t wait to build a real connection with every animal I work with. - Dog walker for 14+ years (more than 20 dogs, all sizes/ages) -Dog sitter for 10+ years (More than 12 dogs, including households with multiple pets, multiple night stays, familiar and first-time clients) I currently work part-time in a remote role, which gives me plenty of flexibility during the day/week to walk, feed, and play with dogs without any sense of time limitations. I’m available across weekdays and weekends, and almost any time of day, whether it’s an early morning walk, a midday check-in, or an evening stay. I care for your pets as if they are my own. My promise is to engage with your pet on your terms and with the utmost transparency and communication. I’ll follow the expectations you set (feeding time, walks, medications) so your dog’s routine is as normal as possible while you’re away. I will keep you in the loop throughout with updates, photos, and check-ins. This same care extends to your home, tidy, undisturbed, and just as you left it.

About: Hi there! I’m an experienced dog care provider dedicated to giving local pups the absolute best care. With professional experience co-owning a pet service business and years of hands-on dog handling, I treat every dog in my care as if they were my own. My main priority is making sure your pup stays safe, comfortable, and right on schedule for their visits. Whether we’re out on an energetic walk, dropping in for mealtime, or relaxing during an overnight stay, you can count on clear communication, prompt updates, and plenty of cute photos. Looking forward to connecting with you and your pup! Pet care is a core part of my daily routine. I build my schedule around consistent walks/visits, feeding times, and any special instructions so pets are never rushed or squeezed in. Throughout the week, I keep communication steady with updates and photos, and I stay organized with notes to keep each pet’s routine consistent from day to day. I care for pets the same way in any space: safely, calmly, and according to their routine. In a client’s home, I follow your instructions closely for meals, walk/play schedule, and house rules. I keep everything clean and secure, and I send clear updates and photos each visit. In my home (for boarding), I provide a calm environment, regular potty breaks and exercise, close supervision, and a consistent routine with the right balance of attention and downtime based on your pet’s personality and energy level.
About: I don’t know life without furry friends! I was born into a family with two cats and a dog. Growing up, I took care of my own hamsters, fish, and hermit crabs. Since I was 12, I have taken care of my community members’ dogs of all sizes, cats of all temperaments, and small critters. The last 11 years, I’ve been primarily busy with grad school and taking care of my own 3 cats but recently my eldest crossed the rainbow bridge and I now work fully remotely, so have extra love and time to pour into your animals! I have experience with all ages and sizes of dogs. I can also administer medication. I work fully remotely, so have more flexibility to check in on your pets and walk your dogs! My weekends are generally free and I plan to be available over Thanksgiving and New Years. If I were to stay in your home to care for your dog, I would treat your home with the utmost respect and be able to keep the dog to his/her usual routine. I am comfortable with having your pup in my car if they like rides, need to go to the vet, or driven to a park. The same applies for kitty cats!

“We have a very high energy ACD mix and Danielle was amazing with him!! He can be a bit standoffish at first but he quickly took on Danielle (and her dog Moose) as part of his pack. She sent tons of pictures and updates and was incredibly responsive both to our messages and to Griggs’ needs. She went above and beyond to make our dog comfortable and cater to our needs. It’s tough to find a good sitter and we will definitely be reaching out to Danielle again in the future. Also, her dog Moose is so sweet and we were impressed with how he handled and interacted with our rambunctious pup.”

About: I love animals and caring for them I love playing with them and making sure they are comfortable, happy and healthy pups as they should be. I only work at my other job for two days so I have plenty of time off my week to petsit whether its dogs or cats or any animal at all! I love all animals and consider myself almost an expert on animals. I allow them to feel free to roam anywhere in my home as long as I can see them and my environment is very safe for them and comfortable.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Sudbury
Diana took great care of Ace and spent plenty of quality time with him. She followed our lengthy instructions for his care in our house, making it easier for him to be in his own enviroment while we were away. He was spoiled with toys and attention and treats. Diana sent pictures of Ace which I loved! I can’t say enough great things about how highly we think of her and how well she took care of our Ace! She also left the house in better shape I think than when we had left! She’s respectful of your home and can follow instructions and has her own dog therefore knows how to care for a dog very well. A bonus for us is that she also has a Rottweiler so she was exceptional with Ace!

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Sudbury walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Sudbury maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Sudbury choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sudbury. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
