“Lucy has been walking our dog while we’re at work and checking in on our cat while we’re out of town. She is so sweet, dependable and communicative. She exceeded my expectations and I am so happy we found her! She’s great with both our pets, thorough and sends many photos and updates. We love her!”

“Marc has been so great! I am a first time dog mom and his services and trust-worthiness has put my mind at ease while I’m gone at work during the day. He is so great with communication, punctuality, and sending me updates to let me know that my girl is happy and well taken care of!”

About: Hi there! I am a responsible and diligent college student(20), and am happy to watch your cats and dogs. I love being active with my puppy but also chilling at home with my two cats. Very open to feedback and customizing my approach to every pet! I’m currently working part time, so any time I’m not working I want to do this! Mornings and afternoons, weekdays and weekends are all possible depending on my work schedule. I go on walks/runs already in my daily routine, sometimes with coco(our dog). I have experience with feeding, brushing, tick treatment, cleaning out the litter box, and playing with them. I have experience walking puppies, take them out to potty, etc.
“Kate obviously knows her dogs. She’s kind and gentle, yet clearly in charge. Our Bisbee liked her right away - and he’s a bit judge-y about people. Kate’s communications were excellent, she arrived on time, took Bisbee on the walk we requested and returned a happy pup to us. Thanks, Kate!”

“Brenda’s super friendly approach with our puppy in their very first meeting put us at ease about having her walk him. She was also shared her own experience with dog walkers, which we found to be of great value. Lastly, Brenda’s scheduling flexibility has proven to be a great asset in our arrangement. I would highly recommend her services to anyone who asks.”

“Sarah was great about stepping in to help with Martha, our elderly terrier. Sarah was reliable and conscientious, and we loved seeing the pictures of Martha looking relaxed, comfortable, and “herself” on her walks with Sarah. Sarah listened to our descriptions of Martha and respected those times when Martha just wanted to hang out in the backyard vs going out on a walk.”
“Katy was great, super helpful! She arranged a meet and greet and is very friendly. Katy walked my Golden Retriever for 3 days and was very reliable and sent updates and photos. Highly recommend , I will ask her for help again in the future.”

About: Dogs have been a part of my life for as long as I can remember. Growing up with multiple family dogs taught me early on that every dog has their own unique personality, needs, and quirks—and I love getting to know them all. In addition to being a lifelong dog lover, I spent four years working as a professional dog bather at PetSmart, where I cared for dogs of all breeds, sizes, ages, and temperaments. That experience helped me become comfortable handling everything from energetic puppies to senior dogs who need a little extra patience and care. I also have experience administering medications, including oral medications and insulin injections, so you can feel confident that your pet's health needs will be carefully managed while they're in my care. Whether your dog is looking for a walking buddy, a cuddle companion, or someone to stick to their routine while you're away, I'll treat them with the same love, attention, and respect that I would give my own pets. Currently open to boarding throughout the year, for dogs able to stay indoors for 8 hours. Weekday Dog walking and dog day care available through beginning of August. I have no other pets in the home! I have a single family ranch style home with a yard. I am also within walking distance from a rail trail. I do also enjoy hiking and would be able to take your pets on wooded adventures!
About: I took care of my own dog since I was 4 years old, and taken care of my sisters’ dogs for the past three years. I also watched my boyfriend’s 4 cats while they were on vacation for a week. I’m currently working part time at the mall and find myself having a lot of free time that I would love to spend looking after animals. I provide feeding, walks, and play time. I will also of course be respectful of your home and any rules or guidelines that you may have.
About: I grew up with three dogs, have dog-sat for neighbors, and lived with a cat that I helped care for. I am very energetic and I have cared for puppies and both large and small dogs. I have a full time job with some flexibility, so I am free most evenings/nights and all of Saturday. My Sunday availability is in the morning to mid-day. I am happy to play with and entertain pets, and follow your instructions on feeding, walks, and house rules. I have had an anxious dog, so I want to make sure your pet is comfortable.
“Tricia is fantastic! This was our first time using her to walk our dog, and we couldn’t be happier. She showed up exactly on time and was immediately great with our black lab, Cooper. After just one hour with her, Cooper was listening to her better than he listens to us! You can tell she truly loves animals—she’s kind, patient, and clearly a pro. Cooper came back happy, well-exercised, and tired out, which is exactly what he needed. If you’re considering a new dog walker, I highly recommend Tricia. We will definitely be booking her again!”

“Nick is wonderful to work with and the dogs love him! He has always been on time and communicative about how things are going with the dogs which means a lot to us. We will gladly work with Nick in the future.”

About: I got my first dog when I was 10. She was a puppy when I got her and was the love of my life. She taught me responsibility, patience, love, gentleness, and kindness. In my adulthood I fostered a sweet dog for two years before I had my children. Now I’m a single mom who is looking to help care for your dog during the times my children are not with me. I’m a single mom on a parenting schedule. I would care for your pet on the weekends my children are with their dad. During that time I would be readily available and have a lot of flexibility. I can easily come to your home and care for your pet as requested. I live in a single family home with a walking trail across the street. No fenced yard.
About: I’ve had dogs my entire life and grown up taking care of them. I’ve cared for small and large dogs, enjoy spending time with them, and giving them the best possible care. I am currently a student and work part time, but I only have class in the morning and work from home a majority of the time I enjoy spending quality time with the pets and make sure their safety comes first. Easily reachable on my cell if there’s any issues or concerns. I have a small fenced backyard area to let the dogs roam and enjoy time outside. No children, other pets, or other cautionary exposures for the animals.

Yes, you can find walkers who have experience with handling special pet needs in Sudbury. On Rover:
- 91% of walkers can help with special care needs
- 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
