Liv was great about scheduling a meet and greet to come ahead of time and learn all about Luna. She then sent photos from their dog walk & it looked like Luna had a great time. I would happily hire live again in the future.!

Emily is a fantastic, wonderfully caring dog walker / pet care taker. We use her services for daily weekday walks for both of our dogs which have very different needs ( a 14 yr old golden doodle with mobility issues and a 10 yr old lab that still thinks she's 3 yr old spring chicken). She has also house sat over a navigation for us so that they didn't have to go into a kennel. She is trustworthy, communicative and extremely kind. You'd be fortunate to have her services.

About: I've had dogs my entire life! I've grown up a HUGE animal lover and have often cared for my friends' dogs, cats, and other pets since I was younger. In addition, I am a volunteer with Hotel For Homeless Dogs in Providence, RI, and during the school year, I volunteer there weekly. I have experience with animals of all ages, from puppies to senior dogs! I promise to show your fur babies so much love and care, and to always treat them like my own. I currently have a part time job. This gives me a lot of flexibility and free time in my schedule. I am available most days of the week and on occasion the weekends. I will pay close attention to any and all needs of your dogs! Let me know and I will make sure to do it. I can easily crate your dog, feed/walk them at specific times, give them medicine, etc if needed.

About: Adopting Benny, our now 6-year-old Australian Shepherd mix, has been one of the most meaningful and rewarding experiences of our lives. He came to us as a rescue, full of potential but also in need of patience, consistency, and care. Australian Shepherds are known for their intelligence, energy, and sensitivity—and Benny is no exception. From daily walks and mental stimulation to routine training and lots of affection, caring for him has been a constant, joyful commitment. He thrives on structure and attention, and it’s been incredibly rewarding to watch him grow more confident and connected as the years go by. Benny has taught us so much about resilience, communication, and the powerful bond that forms between a pet and their family. He’s not just a pet—he’s truly part of our family. Pet care is a daily routine for me. I'm the one who feeds, brushes, spends time with Benny and walks him on a daily basis. I provide nothing but the best for Benny. He gets toppers on his food, supplements, daily attention and walks. I'am trustworthy, reliable and will treat your animals as if they were my own.

About: From the moment I wake up, pet care is my top priority. Mornings begin with fresh water, clean bowls, nutritious meals, and outdoor time. Your pet will have constant care and companionship and will feel right at home with room to roam - and someone by their side all day. I will treat your pet as if it were my own with respect, care, trust. ask me any questions! thank you ! i always respond! I work remote and my girlfriend who also is a sitter on rover works remote 3 days a week, so your dog will never be alone or unattended. Always being cared for as they would be at their own home! Safety is most important for me. House has a fully fenced in yard, gates inside for feeding time, automatic poland spring dog bowl feeder to keep everyone hydrated. No excess or not recommended food to keep dogs from feeling ill. Leashed outside of house on walks.

About: I have grown up with Cats and Dogs and have always had at least one in my house as an adult. I owned a Chihuahua that was not very nice to strangers, so I have also had my fair share of difficult moments with my dog as well. I am a huge cat lover, so send me all the kitties for care!!!! I am a school teacher with young teen children, so during the week in the Summer we are happy to help with your pet care needs. Weekends can be tough because we have sports tournaments, but ask because we have a few that we do not. I have 2 very friendly cats, but to be safe I am not sure how they will be around other animals. I am happy to care for your furry friends in your house and yard.

About: I got my first dog when I was 10. She was a puppy when I got her and was the love of my life. She taught me responsibility, patience, love, gentleness, and kindness. In my adulthood I fostered a sweet dog for two years before I had my children. Now I’m a single mom who is looking to help care for your dog during the times my children are not with me. I’m a single mom on a parenting schedule. I would care for your pet on the weekends my children are with their dad. During that time I would be readily available and have a lot of flexibility. I can easily come to your home and care for your pet as requested. I live in a single family home with a walking trail across the street. No fenced yard.

I can´t feel happier and more satisfied with Saemus walking and taking care of Lola! Lola is my beautiful doggie, a pit bull mix (almost 70 lbs.) who was used, abused and abandoned twice... until we found each other 4 years ago in a shelter in Boston :) Even though she has done a lot of progress, her anxiety is still so high, specially when she meets a person for the first time. Her energetic behavior has made difficult to find a person who wants to take care of her, or just wants to walk her (even using Rover app). Truly. And now is when Saemus appears. He was so sweet and patient with her since the first moment, making her to feel more relaxed and comfortable. He walked and played with Lola until she got exhausted... Definitely, I recommend him to everyone and especially if your doggie needs a lot of care and attention. Additionally, he was so flexible and kind with me. He has been like a gift... I am moving back home to Europe with Lola at the end of this October. Hopefully I would had contacted Saemus a lot of months ago!! But definitely until our flight, I will reach him every time I need someone to stay with Lola. Saemus is absolutely the best sitter you can have!

Anahit is incredibly reliable, responsible, professional, kind with my dog Finn. I feel 110% confident that Finn is in safe and loving hands during their weekly walks together, which is the best feeling for an anxious dog mom of an anxious dog ;) Additionally, Anahit has been super understanding and flexible when I’ve been in a tough place with other walks or care falling through, and she’s filled in, no questions asked. I absolutely would recommend her for any pet care needs you have. We feel very lucky to have worked with her for the last 7 months (for weekly one hour walks) and look forward to more in the future!

Group walks are a good fit for social dogs who enjoy structured walks. If your dog prefers the energy of a group stroll, ask your dog walker about group walks in your Acton. Since all dog walkers are local, they may have a neighborhood dog who is a good walking companion to yours.

For dog walking services, you can request a report card update with specifics about your dog’s walk. Report cards require photos and can include a map of the walking route , total walk time, poop and pee breaks, and distance traveled, so you know exactly where your dog has been walking in Acton.

  • 91% of walkers can help with special care needs
  • 95% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
