“Likun took very good care of our 43 lb Bernedoodle. She was very patient when he became homesick and was professional and reliable at every interaction. She genuinely has an interest in caring for animals and is detail-oriented when coordinating their care. She also provided photos and videos for peace of mind that our boy was healthy and happy. We would rely on Likun again without question.”

“Ahmed was very patient and caring with our dog throughout his stay. Our dog can definitely be tough, especially in a new environment and during his first boarding experience, so I really appreciate the amount of patience, time, and effort Ahmed put into making him comfortable. He kept us updated throughout the stay, made sure Niko was eating, drinking, going outside, and settling in, and communicated with us whenever there were concerns. I know caring for a dog like Niko can require extra patience, and Ahmed went above and beyond to accommodate him and give him the space and attention he needed. We really appreciate everything he did for Niko during his stay and would recommend him to other pet owners.”

“Thank you so much, Michiko and Cliff, for taking such incredible care of our Suki while we were away. Your love, patience, understanding, and daily updates made all the difference and gave us complete peace of mind. We are truly grateful for everything you did, thank you from the bottom of our hearts. 🙏🐾”

“Thalia was amazing! She lives right around the corner from us so it was very convenient. Toby was happy to spend time with her dog too. She sent many pics and videos and made sure he ate and took his meds. She was a super sweet person and I am confident we will use her to watch Toby next time we need to go out of town. Thank sp much Thalia!!”

“Mary was fantastic and shared daily pictures and updates of our precious Bruin! It was very reassuring to see him playing outside and relaxing in the house. We would definitely use her services again and highly recommend her.”

“Michele and her family were warm and friendly towards our dog Polly. Polly enjoyed the company of Michele’s pets. And Michele took Polly on long walks and she seemed happy and relaxed when we picked her up.”

“Sarah was absolutely fantastic with our older aged GSD. Her retriever got along great with our dog and we were very pleased with the level of care provided for our pup when it came to food accommodations (our pup gets anxious when we leave and struggles to eat sometimes). Needless to say, Sarah went above and beyond and we couldn’t be more appreciative of the extraordinary care for our dog as well as all of the communication and photos she provided during the stay. Lastly, Sarah was quite flexible and accommodating with meet and greets, drop off times and pickup times. 10/10 and highly recommend! Thank you Sarah!”

“Mliss was amazing! The pre-stay meeting went great. Throughout the stay, Mliss sent many updates and pictures. Looks like Bella had a great time. Would highly recommend.”

“Krystal was very caring and attentive towards Dwight. A day before our travel, Dwight developed a skin infection and was prescribed with a 7 day course of medications. She took utmost care of him and also sent us regular updates and pictures that put us to ease on our trip. We will surely recommend Krystal to take care of your pet.”

“Himanshu was wonderful and took such great care of our dog. She felt right at home with him from the start. He kept us updated throughout her stay and was always engaged with her through different activities. He is a great host and has a wonderful home with plenty of space for dogs to play and feel comfortable. He went above and beyond by keeping our puppy active, doing some grooming, and making sure she was always engaged. We also really appreciated the thoughtful and constructive feedback he shared on a few areas where she could improve. Overall, we had a great experience and felt very comfortable knowing our dog was in such good hands.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Acton
We had a great experience with Marla and her husband. It was our first time leaving our 2 kitties (11 month old siblings, Bella and Bozo) and we were wary about having them stay at someone else’s home vs having someone come to our house. We only had them for about 2 months before leaving them. We weren’t sure how they’d react to being away from home with new people and other cats. Marla had a separate room that the kitties have as their own if desired. They were brought right into the separate where they were able to familiarize themselves with their new surroundings and different smells of a new place and other kitties. Marla’s cats were kept in their bedroom so as to allow our kitties time to adjust. It didn’t take long for them to begin exploring their new environment. We left them feeling very comfortable knowing that they would be taken well care of. Apparently, our initial fears were all for nothing because they settled in quickly and seemed to enjoy themselves. We received pictures daily that eased our worries while we were away. They had perches to sit on and watch the birds outside and there were a lot of toys and scratching posts to enjoy. I highly recommend Marla to anyone who has never left their cat before, and to anyone who has left their cat before and may not have had a good experience. BK

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
