“Erik is such a great communicator and super responsible. Our puppy just loved cuddling and playing with him and she’s already looking forward to our next night out so Erik can come back!”

“Finley stayed at our home and took great care of our Great Dane while we were away. We were sent regular updates and photos during their time together. And, without being asked Finley even washed the sheets, towels, and kitchenware before leaving the house. He will definitely be at the top of our Rover list next time we need a sitter.”

“Kerri is a straightforward communicator and very approachable, always willing to go the extra mile. Her professionalism inspired trust and peace of mind, so I asked Kerri if she would take care of Milo for almost another month, and she did. I was happy and relaxed because I knew Kerri was taking care of my house and Milo. Kerri is awesome!!!!”

“The only way to describe Danyel is AMAZING!! My sweet girl is 14 years old with some very serious health issues that require very specific care. Danyel had no issue handling things so we could go away and celebrate my son’s graduation. I am so grateful for not only her professionalism but also the love she gave our girl while we were gone. It enabled us to relax and enjoy our time away.”

“Traci did an AMAZING job with our elderly girl. She left the house neat and our girl was happy. My family feels much more comfortable going away knowing Traci will be there to watch our girl.”

“Hannah was an excellent communicator and made sure she knew and followed Roscoe’s routines! Roscoe loved having time to warm up and then when she was ready had a great playtime and snuggle companion!”

About: My childhood cat Daisy, is as important to me as a family member. She is the perfect cat and I would not be the person I am today without her and that has left me with a deep love for cats, and by extension all pets. She is a whopping 15 years old as of now, was born in 2011 and adopted 2012, and is still VERY healthy and happy to this day. Before her, there was Max the Maine Coon who lived to 15. From birth I have had cats in the house, and adored them. I have taken part in their care more seriously beginning at age 8-10 when we adopted Daisy and took care of her in my room as she adjusted as a young kitten. 7 years later we found a fluffy orange kitten on a local walk. After nobody claimed him, we took him in. He grew up to be a hefty, incredibly fluffy ball of personality. He is now 8 and as energetic and healthy as ever. Needless to say, I love cats and am very familiar with their behavior and care. All the cats me and my family have owned have lived and continue to live exceptionally long, fruitful, and healthy lives. Additionally, When I was a preteen I loved participating in all sorts of summer actiities, but by fam my favorite was a semi-local summer camp at Animal Adventures, a rescue for all types of animals that hosted opportunities for young people to clean, feed, pet, and otherwie enjoy the company of exotic and native animals such as the capybara, a boa python, and even alligators. It was a foundational experience to fuel my love for animals and their care well into adulthood, a fascination that has never left me. My own personal routine for my pet care is simple and effective. I am very flexible when it comes to my availability and am more than open to many following all kinds of particular schedules for your pet’s needs. My daily care for my own pets is as follows: my father and I split the care of the cats when we are both home, but there has been many a time where I am alone for extended periods and in charge of their total care for a week or more. Their litter is scooped at least twice a day, once at noon. They are fed three to four times a day, in the morning, early afternoon, early evening, and night. They split a can of wet food between them for each meal. If we are gone for more the majority of the day, dry food is left out. Daisy has a topical medication applied on the inside of her ear, once at breakfast while she eats and once at night. Left ear in the morning, right at night. Gently holding her scruff while she eats and standing behind her while I apply the medicine makes the process quick and stress free for both of us! For house sitting, I can be flexible and attentive! Depending on the needs, I can (and likely will) spend nearly all the time with your pet. If your pet is shy, I will try to stay within a comfortable distance while keeping track of their well-being, and energetic and social pets will get plenty of love and attention. I care very much about their routines and health and will follow any instructions given, as I am used to an important schedule regarding my own cats’ health.
“We couldn’t be more grateful for Rachel’s care and dedication while watching our senior dog, Kaia, during our weekend trip. What truly stood out was her flexibility and commitment to ensuring Kaia was well taken care of, no matter the circumstances. Originally, we planned to return Sunday night, but a strong winter storm changed our plans. When we reached out to Rachel last-minute to ask if she could stay an extra night, she didn’t hesitate to help. With road conditions still dangerous Monday morning, we ended up extending our stay another night, knowing Kaia was in great hands. Despite the storm hitting Acton hard and making walks difficult, Rachel made sure Kaia could get outside safely and kept our home well cared for. Her reliability and willingness to adapt to unexpected challenges gave us peace of mind throughout the trip. We highly recommend Rachel to anyone looking for a responsible, caring, and dependable dog sitter!”

About: I grew up with three dogs, have dog-sat for neighbors, and lived with a cat that I helped care for. I am very energetic and I have cared for puppies and both large and small dogs. I have a full time job with some flexibility, so I am free most evenings/nights and all of Saturday. My Sunday availability is in the morning to mid-day. I am happy to play with and entertain pets, and follow your instructions on feeding, walks, and house rules. I have had an anxious dog, so I want to make sure your pet is comfortable.
“Zannah did a great job house sitting for us. It was the worst icy weather of the year but she made the most of it and we came home to happy animals and were really grateful she was able to do it. She’s responsive and sent us daily updates.”

“Julie-Anne was an excellent dog sitter. She communicated very well. Sent photos & gave us up dates. She stayed at our house & gave our dogs love & snuggles. We will use Julie-Anne again.”

“We had a 10 day trip and Brendan did an amazing job taking care of our 5 year old dog and 9 year old cat. He was attentive, caring, and followed all instructions. We highly recommend him as a pet sitter!”

About: I've grown up with all sorts of animals thru out my life...Quite comfortable with all working breeds the bigger the BETTER. Will consider a lil one who has the big breed attitude in his/her mentality....I've raised Akitas & owned them thru out my children's lives. My last doggie was a Bassett hound who has since passed. (Foto). If given the privilege of taking care of your big or small creature it will be treated as if they are my own. My experience speaks for itself & very capable , happy to take the responsibility of given ur pups/other a second home w/TLC. Thank you kindly in advance for your consideration in choosing moi as your trusted sitter ( now & longterm). Best y’all🐾 The pups that come in are either in yard or garden n house with supervision . Do work partime therefore I’m able to handle at least 5 dogs that are hopefully well trained. Being flexible is helpful when boarding & have a safe , good environment at a second home for your beasts. Besides having a long big yard to run around , also take pets to trails etc… walks are a must to get different smells & explore . If you like an additional specific outing I will try to fit that IN if possible.
“This was our first time leaving Ellie, our family dog, overnight since we adopted her about 10 months ago. Tristan was truly incredible with her--totally understood her from the start, adored her, and gave her all the love and walks she could want (and more). Ellie can be reactive towards other dogs while on leash but it truly is all bark. Tristan had no trouble navigating neighborhood walks, rewarding her good behavior, and gently refocusing her to him when needed. She zoomed so hard with him in the backyard it was like our 8 year old coonhound became a puppy again! Could not recommend a dog sitter more.”

“Wendy went far and beyond in helping me navigate a most difficult situation. I had to go into the hospital suddenly and I cannot tell you what a great relief. It was to have her there at my house, taking care of my cats. I have already booked her again for more cat care. Choose her with confidence!”

Sydney was fabulous. She was attentive when we met, and enthusiastic about treating our dog like a family member. She was wonderful keeping us in touch with how things were going back home, sending photos and short messages. She was very tuned in to the whole emotional aspect of what it's like to leave your beloved pet behind when you travel. We can not recommend her highly enough.

Absolutely fantastic; Barry went above and beyond to make sure our house and animals were all taken care of while we were gone. He was communicative, attentive to our dogs and cat and left our house better than we did when we left 🙂. Would 100% recommend Barry and will use him again if we need care.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Maynard walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Maynard maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Maynard choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Maynard. On Rover:
- 93% of sitters can help with special care needs

- 96% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
