About: I love animals and caring for them I love playing with them and making sure they are comfortable, happy and healthy pups as they should be. I only work at my other job for two days so I have plenty of time off my week to petsit whether its dogs or cats or any animal at all! I love all animals and consider myself almost an expert on animals. I allow them to feel free to roam anywhere in my home as long as I can see them and my environment is very safe for them and comfortable.

Recently we were fortunate enough to have Cam stay with our two KCC for five nights, and I would absolutely recommend Cam to anyone seeking Rover’s services. Cam did a Meet & Greet prior to staying at our home, which was helpful for all parties (Cam, our family, and the fur babies!). While away, Cam periodically gave updates, which we appreciated. They were also very respectful of the house and asked questions as needed. Cam was also very flexible and accommodating to our travel schedule, which we were grateful for! My family looks forward to using Cam’s services again in the future!

Linh is fantastic! She house sat for our two pups while we were on vacation for a week. I'm usually nervous about leaving our pups with a new sitter, especially after we had a bad experience with one (not thru Rover) a few years back. But Linh's knowledge and calm, confident demeanor instilled confidence in me so I was able to relax and enjoy our vacation. She sent updates and frequent photos throughout the week. Not only did she leave our house the way we left it, but she washed all of the sheets and towels which was not expected but very much appreciated. We will be using her again for our next vacation and I know the pups will be excited to see her again!

He’s incredibly easy to work with and clearly cares about animals. Our dog had the best time with him—and to top it off, Robert left our home even cleaner than when we left!

About: Hi there! I'm Amanda, and I'm a 43 year old lifelong animal lover & animal behavior nerd, that has been providing occasional petsitting and housesitting for friends and community for about 15 years in the metro Boston, Atlanta, & Asheville areas, and now petsit full time for cats, dogs, and small animals. I even have experience working at an animal hospital assisting veterinary technicians and doctors with testing, medication, grooming, first aid, and general care! I grew up with a Siberian husky, fish, and guinea pig, along with family that bred rottweilers, and have done rescue work and fostering with husky, malamute, and pug rescue groups, as well as sitting for dog breeds ranging from rescued pit bull terriers, to award winning toy, miniature, & standard show poodle breeders, to paraplegic rescue mutts, to great danes trained as mobility service dogs, so I have extensive experience with dogs of all sizes, activity ranges, and temperaments. As a huge nature lover and avid hiker, I'm always delighted to take your pup (or kitty, if leash trained!) on woodsy walks daily! While I am not a certified trainer, I'm familiar with many training methods and understand daily training needs as well, so I'm very happy to assist and continue with training during sits, whatever furry, feathered, or scaley species your babies may be! Cats are an absolute joy I've come to adore, having lived with many over the past 15 years, and recently gotten to live with and help raise a tiny kitten for the first time! I've worked with diabetic cats, giving daily injections, as well as numerous cats & dogs with various oral medication and special mobility needs, so I'm comfortable with all sorts of special needs furbabies. Over the years I've been fortunate to learn so much more deeply about and work with small pets like rabbits and guinea pigs, and love caring for these gentle creatures. I have some experience living with and caring for chickens, parrots, snakes, and lizards as well. While avian and reptile care is still somewhat newer to me, I've developed quick rapport with the few snakes, lizards, and parrots I've had the pleasure of meeting and caring for over the years! I have minimal experience with horses and livestock animals, but I do have some and very willing and excited to learn more. I do have a couple minor physical limitations due to lower back problems; I have medical restrictions on lifting over 20 lbs or working bent over for long periods, so despite my active lifestyle, I am unfortunately unable to work with animals over that weight limit that need to be lifted, carry large bags of food, litter, etc. I am totally able to break down bags of food/litter and moving them in smaller containers though, and do normal household chores like trash, laundry, and cleaning without any issues. As I haven't used Rover a whole lot for my work, I can also link you to my Trusted Housesitters profile via message to see my many 5 star reviews from other pet parents! I am currently petsitting full time. I do occasionally pick up some additional work, however the hours are on my own time and completely flexible, so my schedule can be fully adjusted to the needs of your pets and home. I LOVE house sits, especially long ones, and working with pets where they're most comfortable, and am willing to travel for extended sits! I also have extensive gardening and general basic home maintenance experience, so am happy to care for your home & garden during house sits. I currently offer full time, professional, highly experienced pet-sitting in my clients' homes, and have no pets of my own (my previous career unfortunately just wasn't suitable). I will happily walk your pup (or kitty! Or ferret, or iguana, you name it!) a few times a day, including longer walks and hikes if desired, and plenty of cuddles and playtime. I have considerable dog training experience, so can offer some continued training support if there is anything you're working on as well.

About: I grew up with three dogs, have dog-sat for neighbors, and lived with a cat that I helped care for. I am very energetic and I have cared for puppies and both large and small dogs. I have a full time job with some flexibility, so I am free most evenings/nights and all of Saturday. My Sunday availability is in the morning to mid-day. I am happy to play with and entertain pets, and follow your instructions on feeding, walks, and house rules. I have had an anxious dog, so I want to make sure your pet is comfortable.

About: I grew up with three Labrador Retrievers and three cats, as well as a parrot and lots of fish. In college, I worked with a company in Lowell as a dog walker and trainer. I was also an animal technician and customer service representative at a dog and cat daycare, boarding, and grooming facility. Currently, I work at a veterinary hospital and am passionate about providing quality care to both dogs and cats. I am available most weekdays for drop-ins after 3 PM until 8 PM. I am also available most Saturdays and Sundays from 8 AM to 8 PM, and can stay overnight if needed. I will provide your dog or cat with the upmost quality of care. With your pup, we will go on safe and enriching walks on leash or off leash, play with fun chew toys inside or outside, and indulge in yummy treats. I encourage all the snuggles and love to chill with them after a fun day of zoomies.

Jen was super great with our older dog. It was our first time using an in-home sitter, and it could not have gone smoother from meet and greet to the last update. When we returned home from our trip, there were clear signs that our pup was well taken care of and not stressed (an issue we’ve had with regular boarding in the past). Would book again and refer to friends!

I am a CEO with high standards. I can not say enough good things about Carlos. I met him because my 15 year old Cav is on his last road and I travel a lot. Carlos was meticulous about prep and our dog's issues, meds, needs, situation, etc. He took detailed notes of our conversations and came over to meet in person before either of us committed. I just returned from Asia. Carlos texted every day I was away - with photos!! He is extraordinarily skilled at vet medicine because of his job. The dog's issues were fewer when I returned -and - Carlos had weaned him down on his meds as well. It was amazing. In addition, Carlos truly loves my dog. When I got home he had left a portrait of my dog he had taken and framed - a gift to me. Lucky to have found him!

FAQs for House Sitting - Marlborough

Frequently asked questions about Rover

The average cost for House Sitting in Marlborough on Rover is $77.7 per night (as of September 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.

Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .

As of September 2026, there are 6,373 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Marlborough. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:

  • Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
  • Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
  • Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
  • Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.

The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Marlborough walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.

It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Marlborough maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:

  • Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
  • Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
  • Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.

Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!

Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Marlborough choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.

Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.

Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.

If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Marlborough. On Rover:

  • 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
  • 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections
  • 96% can help with daily exercise

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
