“This was the first time I contracted with Jennifer to watch my two male cats while I was out of town. Jennifer quickly observed their routine which included crushing a pill in one of the cat's food and making sure he finished all the medicine. She was wonderful and gave my cats many head pats during her visits. I appreciated the many pictures she sent during her time with them. Jennifer is very conscientious in her responsibilities as a pet sitter. i would use her again.”
About: I have had cats and have taken care of them since I was eight years old, and have spent time with dogs, but don't have any of my own. But I am looking forward to meeting yours. I work part time, usually at night and usually on weekends, I am pretty flexible on weekdays and can take care of your pet in the mornings or afternoons. I feed and clean up after my cat at home. If I am walking a dog then I am comfortable running or going at any pace.
“Sara was an outstanding sitter. She took such care with our geriatric cat, spending quality time with him and making sure he had plenty of attention while we were away. She was incredibly communicative and thorough and sent such beautiful photos of our cat! I cannot recommend her highly enough!!”

About: Ever since I was born, I’ve been surrounded by all sorts of family and friendly pets! I love all animals big and small, under 10lbs or nearly 200lbs. My weekday job is spent caring for people in recovery. So, long story short, I’ve always been dedicated to creating the best memories I can with all those I share time with. Reach out if you’d like to connect! I like to stay active during my time off from work, and I love to play as a part of my fitness; luckily pets love play too! My entire days are open Saturday - Monday, and evenings Tuesday - Friday. Open to discuss time flexibility! I handle every moment with patience, care and attention. I like to have fun and be playful, keeping the environment light while keeping all present safe and comfortable.
“Chelsea was so great to work with! She dropped in on my kitten twice a day and followed all my overly-detailed instructions I gave her 🤣🤣 Will definitely book again!!”

“Nicole is amazing! She took such good care of my furbaby while we were away. I highly recommend Nicole if you need someone to care for your pet. I will definitely use her every time I have to be away from my baby!! 😻”

“I'm so grateful I found Lori! We had some bad experiences with a pet sitter in the past (not on Rover) and were really nervous about leaving our cat Max alone for a few days. Lori took the time to listen to us, stayed in constant communication, and sent tons of pictures and videos. She is very caring and took excellent care of Max while we were out of town, which really helped us relax and not worry. If you are looking for a sitter to drop in and visit your furbaby, I highly recommend Lori - she's professional, reliable and really cares about the animals she's taking care of! We will definitely be working with Lori again!!!”

About: Welcome to Happy Pals located in convenient Marlboro, MA. We have been caring for dogs for over 27 years. Brady is the resident pet. He is an adorable 15 year old Cocker Spaniel – yes – named after Tom. We have had Brady since he was a puppy. Brady is a sweet and friendly dog so as long as guest(s) can hang out with him. Our home has a large, beautiful, private backyard that is perfect for your pups to play in. Each day stay for your pal includes two walks around our neighborhood as well as unlimited indoor/outdoor playtime. The inside area of our home has a large, open concept with plenty of room to walk around and play. During the dog days of summer, our home is cool as we have central air conditioning. If your fur-baby boards over the weekend, we will also include a trip to the local park! We are able to supervise your pups 24x7. We are able to provide transportation to a vet for any emergency situations. We have a great relationship with Brady’s veterinary clinic. Our home also is not far from emergency services at Tufts University in Grafton. Elaine has been certified in CPR and pet first aid in the past and plans to retake this course and become recertified. We will provide you with as many updates/pictures of your friend’s stay as you would like to receive. We can't wait to meet you and your fur-babies! Benefits of staying with Happy Pals: •We always strive to pamper your friend. Safety is top priority. •Elaine and her husband Ken work closely together as a team during all visits. An advantage of staying with Happy Pals is that there are two adults always caring for your pet. If one has something unexpected come up, the other is always right there. If an unexpected emergency came up with both of us, we have a backup plan if the guest doesn't have an emergency contact. We have two different family members (both dog lovers and owners) who are nearby and have volunteered to help out if there were any unexpected emergencies with the caregivers. Both are home full time enjoying retirement and taking care of family. •If you would like your fur-baby to go on field trips, we can discuss the possibility of going to local dog friendly parks such as Callahan State Park, Great Brook, or Gates Pond. Safety is always top priority so we can see if this would work well during a particular visit. •Traditional boarding facilities charge extra fees for play time. Non-stop play times as well as walks are always included. •Bottled water and Milk Bone treats are always available. •We are very mindful of food allergies and food sensitivities. If your pet requires a special diet, we are happy to cook any special meals. •If help is needed transporting the guest to our home for a stay, we can help with pick ups and drop-offs. •Location is convenient to major routes (Rts. 495, 20, 30). •We have a lot of room. If you feel as though your pal may need some private or alone time, we have a lot of room for he/she to stay completely separate if there may be another guest at the same time. •Guests can sleep where they are most comfortable (living room, bedroom, etc.). •We try to keep the number of guests at a time low to give each guest the most attention possible. We carefully consider the mix of guests if there will be some overlap. We always feel bad if we cannot accommodate a guest on a particular date due to numbers but we feel that it is important to keep numbers low for all guests to be happy and safe. If you know particular dates ahead of time, please let us know even if a formal reservation request isn't sent right away so that we can keep the dates in mind while scheduling. Summertime (Memorial Day through Labor Day) and major holidays are the busiest. •If your pet has a scheduled grooming or vet appointment during their stay in a nearby town, we can make sure that they get there. •Updates and pictures are sent to you of your friend throughout the visit. Also, please feel free to call or e-mail anytime to check on them. •Flexibility in drop-off and pickup times. You are able to drop-off and pickup your pet at times when traditional boarding places are closed. Please note: if our calendar says "booked" for particular dates that you are interested in, please still contact us with a general inquiry e-mail. It is possible that a day that says "booked" could also be a day that another guest is leaving. We have enough room to accept several dogs; however, it is always our goal to have no more than 1-2 guests at a time to ensure that every guest receives a lot of individual attention. More dogs are listed in the profile to have flexibility with the calendar since some guests leave and come on the same day. Confirmation at booking: Up-to-Date vaccinations; Flea/tick preventive treatment; Negative fecal exam. Please note: now that pandemic restrictions have been lifted, there has been a larger volume of requests than usual for summer stays. I apologize ahead of time if there is a small delay in returning your message. We are usually able to return a message within an hour or two but over the summer it will definitely be within 24 hours at the most. If you need to reach out regarding a date coming up quickly, please feel free to call me directly using the Rover # showing in the profile. The calendar may look open regarding dates near 4th of July right now because we are in the process of finalizing holiday reservations but the days right around the holiday are now busy with furry guests. If we aren't able to help out on specific dates this summer due to higher volume of requests, we would love to meet you in the future and help out with a future date. Thanks. Elaine, Ken, and Brady (woof) I am home the majority of the time. We are able to follow your pet's schedule exactly the way it is at home. We like to review the schedule at a Meet and Greet - feedings, exercise, sleeping. We have safety gates near main doorways. We do not crate guests unless asked to by the guest. We take leashed walks. We are home the majority of the time.
“Mouse had a fantastic time with Rachel — he was treated like the tiny prince that he is. He spent time with her hanging out in the sun on the deck, exploring the backyard, and making himself comfortable on her lap. When it was time for her to leave he didn’t want to budge from her lap, and he doesn’t warm up to people easily like that! She sent plenty of pics and updated me on his activities. I’ll happily book Rachel again anytime!”

“We had Nancy visiting my cat for 7 days while we were away. Linda was very responsible. She sent me updates every day after visiting and also sent me photo of my cat, which really gave us a peace of mind when we were away from home. Highly recommend Nancy’s service.”

“Katherine has been a great sitter. She goes above and beyond to ensure that my furry friend gets the exercise and attention he needs. I would totally recommend Katherine to anyone looking for a dog sitter. Me my dog couldn’t be happier ?”

“She took great care of our 2 large breed dogs while we were away on vacation. Would not hesitate to have her watch our boys again! The Rover card updates were great to read while we were away ?”

“It was comforting to me to have Jacquie take care of my cat Fiona while I was out of state and so far away. She did an excellent job of keeping me up to date with notes and pics and my cat just loved her. She wasn't shy to meet Jacquie and was very calm and relaxed when I got home. I am very pleased with my first experience with Jacquie and Rover.”
“Miriam did a great job with our two cats!. She had good communication, sent plenty of pictures, and really took the effort to get the shy cat to come out and engage. No hesitation recommending her to anyone in the area needing a cat sitter!”

“Briana took care of our 2 dogs, and we are very happy with our first experience. We will definitely use her in the future. She was quick to reply to our emails, and followed all our instructions. Most importantly, she was reliable: checking-in at the agreed on times, sending photos, and letting us know the dogs were fine.”

“Joey was absolutely wonderful taking care of my cat, Meelo, while I was away. She did stop in visits, made sure he was fed, and spent time playing with him so he stayed happy and comfortable. It gave me so much peace of mind knowing he was getting attention and care while I was gone. Joey was reliable, kind, and clearly great with animals. I’m so grateful for her help and would definitely recommend her to anyone looking for a caring pet sitter! I’ll definitely be booking with her again! 🐾💛”

“Cam did a great job with my sweet but shy baby, Cardi. She can be very difficult to manage when giving medication and knows it’s coming, but Cam did great with her. I was kept up to date and even received a video of Cardi making biscuits on her favorite blanket. That put a huge smile on my face. Exactly what I needed as I was in the hospital for a procedure. Cam was very communicative, punctual and very careful with Cardi as she has arthritis in her lower spine and a bad left hip. I was appreciative of the concern for her wellbeing. Would definitely use Cam again.”

Marlborough pet parents share their Rover experiences
My kitties have never been cared for as well as Miriam cared for them. She truly interacts with them and delights in their antics. She also took exceptional care of their necessities as well as going above and beyond keeping things clean. She sent detailed pictures and comments every visit. I think my cats were disappointed it wasn’t Miriam when we walked through the door. Have already booked her for our next trip.

Sara was amazing with my cat Sophie. This was my first time using a pet service and I was nervous about the prospect until I met Sara and immediately felt at ease. The whole experience for me and my cat went very smoothly and I have already booked Sara for another time in a few weeks. Thank you Rover and of course Sara.
