“Victoria was a fantastic host. Her house is clean and has a nice fenced in back yard for the dogs to play freely. She has two very friendly dogs which was a huge plus since ours loves to play. Will certainly look to book with her again!”

“Sarah made sure Watson enjoyed his stay and even made new friends. He was happy to see me at the end but not frantic--a sign that he felt comfortable there. I was grateful to be able to relax on my trip knowing he was in good hands with a caring family. Would definitely leave him there again!”

“Hi. Hello. It’s me. Kona. Baby dog. CEO of this house while my humans are gone. I would like to speak about Loren. Because WOW. First of all: Loren showed up for me. Suspicious. Heroes do that. Loren knew my name immediately. I never told them. (Okay maybe my humans did, but still. Magic.) She understood my language. I signaled: *snout budging* She asked: “You need to go outside.” Correct. Genius. Scholar. She fed me EXACTLY when I was starving to death (which happens every 9 hours). She gave me food AND didn’t steal it AND didn’t rush me even when I dropped it on the floor on purpose to test her loyalty. Passed. She took me on a walk. Not a “quick” walk. A **sniff-every-tree-branch-like-it’s-a-mystery-novel** walk. She waited while I investigated the same bush for 4 straight minutes because something smelled like *crime*. She played with me. Not “throw ball once” play. Real play. The kind where I bring the toy back and she act surprised EVERY TIME. Excellent acting. Five stars. When I got tired, she noticed. I didn’t even have to dramatically collapse. She said, “Aww, nap time.” YES. FINALLY. SOMEONE WHO GETS ME. She respected my boundaries. Except when I needed exactly 17 belly rubs and then ONE MORE or I would simply pass away. She stayed. She protected the house with me. We heard a noise once. Probably the wind. But still. We were brave together. In conclusion: The Dog Sitter is ✨ The Best Human ✨ ✨ A Treat Giver ✨ ✨ A Walk Bringer ✨ ✨ My New Best Friend ✨ I will miss her. Unless she comes back. Which she should. Immediately. 10/10 Would allow to dog sit me again and share my toys (which is a BIG deal). End of report. BORK. - Kona 🐾”

“Kim was our pug’s best friend for 9 days. She was very kind and caring to our Pug and very reassuring and communicative with us throughout his stay. She sent us pics of what they were up to every day and our dog calm back to us calm and happy. Would highly recommend!”

“Sara was so welcoming for our dog's first time stay on fairly short notice, and was also very easy to work with for scheduling details. Foster had a fine time at her home, and appeared to be very content and well-snuggled in the photos I received during his stay. We'll definitely book with her again!”

“I would like to take a minute and say thank you to Mellisa and her family. My dog stayed twice with them and both times I was getting back happy and satisfied pet. Melissa and her family provided everything my dog needed: love, care and attention. They took my dog on regular walks, played fetch, and provided a lots of hugs. Every day during my dog's stay, Melissa sent me pictures and short updates on how my dog was doing. My vacation could not be more enjoyable without knowing that my dog in good hands and happy. I am highly recommending Melissa. If you care and love your dog, she is the right dog sitter for you.”

“Jacqueline and her daughter always take amazing care of my Mango! She always has a great time with them and the daily pictures and updates give me reassurance while I’m away. 10/10”

“It's a return stay for Toto. He probably got more pampered by Bo & Xiaosong than from us. We received constant update videos, photos, and messages every single day. Bo & Xiaosong are great hosts. Thank you!”

“Sarah was amazing with Piper! She communicated frequently, sent photos, and managed Piper's finicky eating habits with ease. It was clear from the photos that Piper was delighted to be spending time with Sarah's family! Piper will definitely return for another visit!”

“Paul was great! This was our 1.5 yo doodles first boarding experience and she loved it. She ate great, slept great and had fun playing with the other dogs. We will use Paul again!”

“Livia was very cooperative of our flight schedules. She accommodated last minute schedule changes. Sent us pictures of the pet every day. Bella came back home very calm and composed. I will surely use Livia again for pet sitting.”

“Rita was so great! She sent so many pictures and videos of our lil guy while we were gone. It was our first time leaving him with a sitter and he’s pretty anxious but he even got along well with her dog who apparently usually loves playing but understood that our dog needed his space. She was so easy to communicate with and responded quickly. We will definitely use her services again!”

“Dina was an excellent caregiver for our energetic pet! She was very welcoming and engaged immediately with Fiadh, and provided photos and updates while we were away on an overnight. Dina has a large fenced yard which was very important for our high-energy pet! We recommend Dina 100% and will definitely contact her again when we need support!”

“Our pups stay with Laurie was the best! Finley really enjoyed himself and was very comfortable from the first minute he was there. Laurie sent lots of pictures. Her layout and yard were ideal for our guy and he got along really well with her pup as well. We will definitely repeat and encourage anyone else to book with Laurie.”

“Randy and his family treated our Border Collie mix Ruby like she was their own. Upon arrival I could tell they truly loved dogs. They put Ruby at ease the minute they met her. The cost was less than previous boardings we've used in the past by far without the add-ons at checkout. Very affordable. Not to mention the individual attention they provided. I would not hesitate using Randy again. I'm sure Ruby would love to visit them again. There was very good communication before and during Ruby's stay. When we picked Ruby up I almost felt she would have loved to have stayed another day. We'll be back.... Thank for everything, Ron P.”

Ashwariya is AMAZING!! 🐾 We couldn’t have asked for a better sitter for our dog, Simba. From day one, she made us feel so comfortable and reassured, and it was clear Simba was in the best hands. He had the BEST time with her, her family, and her dog—he came home so happy, relaxed, and full of love. You can really tell how much she cares about the dogs she watches. She kept us updated with frequent messages and the cutest photos, which we truly appreciated and looked forward to every day. It gave us complete peace of mind while we were away. We would 1000% recommend Ashwariya to anyone looking for a caring, reliable, and loving dog sitter. Simba can’t wait to go back!! 🐶❤️

Sarah and her family were the perfect host for our Coco. They took such good care of her and gave her all the love and fun she needed for our very long trip away. It was our first time using a boarder for so long and Sarah gave us such comfort that our baby was well loved and cared for. We’ll be back!! Thank you so much!!

Charlotte and Magesh are excellent. Kai had such an amazing time with them and their dog Denver. They are very active in sending photos and videos and are super communicative and cooperative with timing. I felt completely at ease knowing Kai was in such good hands.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
