“Jace was wonderful with Luna! He kept us in the loop with clear communication, updates, and photos, and made sure she was well cared for. It was wonderful knowing she was happy and getting lots of walks while we were away. I highly recommend Jace and would definitely book with him again!”

“Sara was the best second mom to our boy Dodger while we were away for five days. She took him on hikes, play dates, swimming, and sent photos to me every day. I will use her from now on, no question!”

“Emily helped me out on short notice in a very stressful moving situation. i can’t thank her enough for the wonderful care she gave to my brothers three extremely scared cats. i highly recommend Emily.”

“Lingwen was AMAZING! She made Nico feel super comfortable at her home and welcomed. Lingwen sent updates and pictures of Nico thought out the stay which we loved. Thank you much again for caring for Nico! If you’re looking for a sitter, do not hesitate to book her. She’s the best :)”

“Vignesh is amazing! He was incredibly caring and attentive to my dog’s needs. He kept me updated throughout, was very responsive to messages, and made me feel completely at ease while I was away. It’s clear he genuinely love animals and go above and beyond to ensure they’re well cared for. I highly recommend Vignesh to anyone looking for a reliable and loving pet sitter!”

“Sarah was absolutely fantastic with our older aged GSD. Her retriever got along great with our dog and we were very pleased with the level of care provided for our pup when it came to food accommodations (our pup gets anxious when we leave and struggles to eat sometimes). Needless to say, Sarah went above and beyond and we couldn’t be more appreciative of the extraordinary care for our dog as well as all of the communication and photos she provided during the stay. Lastly, Sarah was quite flexible and accommodating with meet and greets, drop off times and pickup times. 10/10 and highly recommend! Thank you Sarah!”

“Xiaoxue was a total lifesaver when we needed a sitter last minute!. She was immediately responsive, easy to coordinate with, and took such great care of our Labrador. Our pupper came home happy and tired from her stay. We will definitely be using their services again!"”

“Svetlana welcomed S. Punki into her family so that we felt like he was on a vacation too! We got daily feedback, with photos, videos, and messages. Svetlana asked questions when she wasn't sure, and was kind and caring. We could not ask for more. I definitely recommend Svetlana and hope to leave S. Punki in her care when we travel again.”

“Rebecca and Jeanette were super caring and took great care of our dog. We received regular updates and pictures. And communication was smooth for coordinating drop-off and pick-up!”

“Our dogs had the best weekend with Kexin and Carlos (and their new furry friends)! Everything was super easy and smooth. They kept us updated with great pictures and videos and even gave us sweet mementos of their stay. We will absolutely book again and highly recommend them!! Thank you both so much for your thoughtfulness and care with Franklin and Riley!”

About: I have a 5-year-old border collie. He’s very friendly and loves to play with other dogs. I live in a town house so I don’t have a yard per say. I typically take my dog to parks/fields in Ashland to hike or run around. I typically walk my border collie about 4 miles a day as well. I work remote so I am usually home. Available 7 days a week. I usually go to the gym for a few hours each day but try to be home for my dog to keep him active as a herding dog (border collie) I will do 2 long walks per day typically (2 miles each). I will also take my dog and yours hiking or to a field/park but not a dog park. I can go to a fenced in field if needed for your dog. Mine doesn’t need a fence.
“Mary was great with Cookie! We felt comfortable in leaving her under Mary’s care and she sent updates to us to let us know how she was doing throughout the week. We will definitely use her again!”
“I couldn’t have imagined a better first experience with in-house boarding. They were incredibly understanding of my dog’s needs, and Masha loved them from the very first meeting! They even went the extra mile to ensure she was eating well and gave her treats, which I truly appreciated. I would recommend them hands down to anyone—it was such a relief to know she was in such great hands.”

“We knew Olive was safe and happy with Dina and Skylar. Dina was very prompt in answering questions and sending pics, updates. Very organized too. She went above and beyond with washing olive's towel and bowels , keeping everything neat and ready for pick up. We could tell Olive had lots of fun with Dina and Skylar. Highky recommend and will definitely board Olive again with Dina and Skylar.”

“Julia was very warm and communicative, and she and her family seemed to really get to know and love our dog. The almost daily videos and photos, the genuine care, and the sweet Christmas gift—left us feeling 100% at ease when we were overseas, and we’ll look forward to leaving Canela with them again.”

“Met with Elaine a few weeks back on the hope we could get away this year. We finally ended up leaving our two dogs this past weekend for two nights. Elaine is friendly, communicative, easy going, a true dog person and pleasure to deal with. We will use her in the future and highly recommend her.”

“Stacy took great care of our dog for 10 days while we were out of the country. Being far away from a much loved pet can be tough. But we had no concerns because we knew she was in good hands. When we went to pick up our pup was super happy and obviously enjoyed her time with Stacy in a very dog friendly environment.”

“Our dogs had the best time with Melissa! They were well taken care of and made a few new friends. Melissa was extremely accommodating to our requests for drop off and pickup changes and even offered to meet us closer when our flight got delayed. We would absolutely rebook with Melissa and highly recommend her!!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
