“Absolutely recommend Bethany! We use her continuously for quick overnight stays and multiple day stays and have never had an issue. My dog, Axel is always excited to go there and does not want to leave when we come for pick up. She is so patient, kind and loving. It feels as if you are leaving your dog with a family member.”

“Stacy took great care of our dog for 10 days while we were out of the country. Being far away from a much loved pet can be tough. But we had no concerns because we knew she was in good hands. When we went to pick up our pup was super happy and obviously enjoyed her time with Stacy in a very dog friendly environment.”

“This was Seamus first visit to get acquainted before we board him in July. Alex was most welcoming and within minutes of dropping Seamus off somewhere for the very first time in his 10 months, I received photos of a very happy boy with his new friends. Highly recommend and I am grateful they are so close to my home.”

“Elaine is fantastic! We have boarded our Cocker Spaniel with Elaine a few times now and she provides excellent care each time. The peace of mind we have when leaving our dog with Elaine is such a blessing. We know that Elaine loves the dogs she watches and that she will provide the best possible care and attention for our little guy each time he stays with her. We're thankful for Elaine and highly recommend her to others!”

“My dog with worried when she arrived, but she was very happy when I picked her up. It looks like she had a good time with new doggie friends and it smells like she even had a bath!”

“Melissa was great ! My two Golden Retrievers had such a great time and loved being around the kids. They came home calm, happy, and clearly well cared for. It’s such a relief knowing they were in great hands. I would absolutely book with her again!”

“Mliss was amazing! The pre-stay meeting went great. Throughout the stay, Mliss sent many updates and pictures. Looks like Bella had a great time. Would highly recommend.”

“Andrew and his family took great care of Melon. She had a blast. Andrew was communicative in a way that was helpful without being over-the-top, which allowed us to feel secure that Melon was doing well and able to enjoy our time away.”

“Lauren was very accomdating and flexible. My dog loved her. While my dog loved to see me back, he was also in no hurry to leave Lauren. Glad we chose to go with a loving, home like, boarder like Lauren rather than a kennel.”

“Someone recently told me that they never met a Peggy who isn’t wonderful, and after leaving our dog with Peggy M. and her family for a long weekend, I completely agree! They were so kind, flexible, sent consistent pictures and updates, and our pup looked genuinely torn to leave their home when we picked her up - so much so that she said goodbye to each family member individually. I cannot recommend Peggy enough - if you are looking for a fun, family environment that will love your dog like their own while you’re away, she is your Rover.”

“Jessie took incredible care of my dog. We had done a meet and greet, a few days before, but, otherwise, Piper/my dog did not know her. She made her very comfortable, and she really seemed to have a great time! Lots of pics and videos!”

“If you are anywhere close to Sarah and Luis do not hesitate - JUST BOOK! Here is why; amazing communication from start to finish, meticulous home, exceptional understanding of dogs and their needs, kind and loving children, listened and respected to our care instructions, went above and beyond with our pup Riley's needs......THANK YOU Sarah we will be back!”

“Ana took such good care of our pup Rosie! She was so easy to communicate with and sent daily updates, with pictures and videos! Rosie loved playing with her dog, Lola, and came home exhausted in the best way!”

“We are very thankful for the care Julia gave our dog while we were away on vacation. She was great about providing updates and was able to accommodate for his extra needs due to his arthritis. It was wonderful knowing he was in good hands so we could enjoy our trip!”

“Buddy received lots of attention, had a great time, and was well taken care of. I got pictures everyday. He was boarded for a week and a half and I would recommend.”

“We couldn’t be happier with the care Matt and Patty provided for our Golden Retriever during the 10 nights we were out of the country. From the very beginning, we felt completely comfortable leaving him in their care. We were able to visit their home beforehand, and they have a wonderful setup, including a large, fully fenced backyard with plenty of room for him to play. Throughout our trip, Matt and Patty sent us frequent updates and photos, which gave us tremendous peace of mind. They took him on daily walks around the neighborhood, gave him lots of attention, and it was very clear that he was happy, comfortable, and well cared for. What really stood out to us was how they handled a day when he wasn’t feeling well and developed some stomach issues. Matt immediately contacted us, proactively made an appointment with the vet, and made sure we were comfortable with him taking our dog in to be seen. Afterward, Matt and Patty followed the vet’s recommendations closely and even cooked rice and beef for his meals for several days while his stomach recovered. They truly cared for him as if he were their own. When we returned, we came home to a very happy puppy, and we could tell he had been loved and well cared for the entire time. We are so excited to have found Matt and Patty. Finding people you can completely trust with your dog while you’re away is incredibly important, and we feel very fortunate to have found such reliable, attentive, and genuinely caring sitters. We would absolutely recommend them and will not hesitate to have them care for our dog again!”

About: I have a 5-year-old border collie. He’s very friendly and loves to play with other dogs. I live in a town house so I don’t have a yard per say. I typically take my dog to parks/fields in Ashland to hike or run around. I typically walk my border collie about 4 miles a day as well. I work remote so I am usually home. Available 7 days a week. I usually go to the gym for a few hours each day but try to be home for my dog to keep him active as a herding dog (border collie) I will do 2 long walks per day typically (2 miles each). I will also take my dog and yours hiking or to a field/park but not a dog park. I can go to a fenced in field if needed for your dog. Mine doesn’t need a fence.

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - Upton
Jen was so lovely and replied to my questions often. I always get nervous when leaving Roxy in a new-to-her place, but hearing how she was doing and adapting to the environment set my mind at ease. She was also very gracious and accommodating when my flight was delayed and I had to pick up Roxy later than we agreed. I wouldn’t hesitate to book Jen again!

Jen and her family took great care of our dog and we are so grateful! Hobbes loves to play catch and Jen’s kids played with him frequently based on Jen’s updates and photos. This was our dog’s first time staying with strangers and he seemed sad to leave the kids after. We only interacted with Jen through the app but got to meet her husband and a few of their children for the meet-and-greet, drop off and pick up. We would love to book Jen and her family again in the future!

We had an amazing experience! Our 2½-year-old rescue rat terrier mix is high-energy and can be pretty anxious, but he was so well cared for and looked completely at ease. We loved getting lots of photos and updates, and the fenced-in yard gave him plenty of room to run and play. He came home happy, tired, and clearly loved. We wouldn’t hesitate to book again—highly recommend!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
