“The best! I have 2 older female labs that get stressed when in boarding. To the point of making themselves sick. Shyla was a godsend. Shyla treats the dogs as her own. The continuous picture updates were adorable and comforting. The come home, relaxed and brushed! I highly recommend! Will definitely be using her services again.”

About: I have had animals all my life from a little girl. Dogs, cats rabbits and I have taken care of them with lots of love. I have a great understanding and rapport with animals. I have vast experience with all types of dogs and cats. I enjoy walking with my dogs always being aware of any dangers that may occur. Any animal in my care will be well looked after and taken care of with a lot of love. I am at home now as I am retired so have lots of time for any animal in my care. Having contact with any animal in my view is very important animals like company which I am able to give. Being at home I am able to walk dogs whenever they need to be taken out. I live in a large house with plenty of room. There is a large amount of land as I live in a rural situation. I would always take any dog in my care out on a lead as the land isn't fenced but there is lots of countryside for lovely walks. Safety is most important when taking care of other peoples pets in my home.
“Enid was wonderful and a tremendous help to us at the holidays when we couldn’t take our Sammie with us to visit family far away. She kept us updated every morning and throughout the day with pictures and videos of our girl. Sammie came home happy and well taken care of. I recommend Enid very highly to anyone! Thanks Enid!!”

“If I could give Avery more than five stars, I absolutely would! From the moment Bailey met her, I knew he was in caring hands. Avery has such a calm, kind, and genuine spirit, and it was clear that Bailey felt completely safe and loved with her. Throughout his stay, she kept me updated with thoughtful messages and beautiful photos, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. The true testament to the care she provided came when it was time to leave. Bailey ran back to her as she was leaving, and it was obvious he wasn’t ready to say goodbye. As any dog parent knows, you can’t fake that kind of bond. It speaks volumes about the love, patience, and attention she gave him. Hearing that her family enjoyed having Bailey as part of their home made my heart smile. It was comforting to know he wasn’t just being watched, he was welcomed, loved, and treated like family. Avery, thank you for caring for Bailey as if he were your own. Your compassion, responsibility, and love for animals shine through in everything you do. I have complete confidence in you and would trust you to watch Bailey again without hesitation. I hope you know that the kindness you share with animals and their families makes a real difference, and I have no doubt that it will take you far in whatever path you choose. We are so grateful for you, and Bailey is already looking forward to his next visit.”

“Briana was wonderful! Very flexible with timing and knowledgable about dog behavior. She has great communication skills and we got a lot of fun photos while we were away. She even gave our big boy a good brushing before we picked him up and he looks great! I think he had a good time away and we will definitely be calling on Briana again when we need a competent, compassionate dog sitter.”

“Erin was fantastic! My labradoodle stayed for a few days and got to go on walks with her doggies and play in her yard! I appreciate that she sent me pictures and that my pup had a comfortable and loving place to stay! :)”

“Ryan was so great with Opal! It was our first time using Rover so we were a little uneasy but were going away for a week and hoping to find a home away from home for our Opal. Ryan was amazing, so caring and kind, she got lots of play time in their yard, lots of walks and loved playing with their dog Goose. I got daily texts with pictures and he really put our minds at ease so we could enjoy our vacation.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
