“Gabriel is a wonderful guy, it is obvious how caring he is with the dogs. The videos were wonderful seeing our furry family member while away. I will definitely use Gabriel for my next need of Doggy Care”

“The best! I have 2 older female labs that get stressed when in boarding. To the point of making themselves sick. Shyla was a godsend. Shyla treats the dogs as her own. The continuous picture updates were adorable and comforting. The come home, relaxed and brushed! I highly recommend! Will definitely be using her services again.”

“Absolutely exceptional! I vetted a lot of people to find the right, trust-worthy person to watch my dog, and I have finally found one. Bianca and her family have been kind, flexible, helpful, and responsive during our first long trip away from our dog. She is wonderful. and I highly recommend if you are looking for someone to give you peace of mind while away.”

“I couldn’t have imagined a better first experience with in-house boarding. They were incredibly understanding of my dog’s needs, and Masha loved them from the very first meeting! They even went the extra mile to ensure she was eating well and gave her treats, which I truly appreciated. I would recommend them hands down to anyone—it was such a relief to know she was in such great hands.”

“Misael has been my to go sitter for over a year now. My pet already knows his place and gets excited every time we take her. He does know dogs and takes good care of them. Every time I leave my pup with him I get pictures and movies of her. Communication with him is excellent and keeps you aware of everything. He answers quickly to any questions you may have. Highly recommend him. I have a 100 lbs pup and she is always taken care e of when I’m away.”

“Briana took amazing care of our pup Chase for nine days in June 2021 and we couldn't be more grateful! She is an all-around dog expert, and the friendliest person you'll meet. Briana took the time to send us daily updates, along with pictures and videos, which eased our anxiety (it's our first time away from our first dog) and proved that we chose the right person for the job. FIVE STARS all the way !!!”

“Nick was friendly, respectful, and communicative. Has a fenced in yard for the pup to run around and my dog was able to interact with his without issues on either dog. My pup had a big smile on him when I picked him up shows he had a great time.”

Thank you Shannon... for giving us peace of mind while we were away!!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Chelsea K! She took amazing care of my dog, Dexter, and went above and beyond in every way. Her home was spotless and provided such a clean, comfortable environment that immediately put me at ease. Chelsea’s attention to detail was incredible—she followed all of Dexter’s routines perfectly and made sure he felt right at home. What really stood out to me was her patience and genuine care. Dexter can be a little shy at first, but Chelsea took the time to help him feel comfortable and safe, which I truly appreciated. She kept me updated with pictures and messages, which gave me total peace of mind while I was away. If you’re looking for someone who will treat your dog like their own in a clean, welcoming space, Chelsea is the one to book!”

About: I have had animals all my life from a little girl. Dogs, cats rabbits and I have taken care of them with lots of love. I have a great understanding and rapport with animals. I have vast experience with all types of dogs and cats. I enjoy walking with my dogs always being aware of any dangers that may occur. Any animal in my care will be well looked after and taken care of with a lot of love. I am at home now as I am retired so have lots of time for any animal in my care. Having contact with any animal in my view is very important animals like company which I am able to give. Being at home I am able to walk dogs whenever they need to be taken out. I live in a large house with plenty of room. There is a large amount of land as I live in a rural situation. I would always take any dog in my care out on a lead as the land isn't fenced but there is lots of countryside for lovely walks. Safety is most important when taking care of other peoples pets in my home.
“Ryan was so great with Opal! It was our first time using Rover so we were a little uneasy but were going away for a week and hoping to find a home away from home for our Opal. Ryan was amazing, so caring and kind, she got lots of play time in their yard, lots of walks and loved playing with their dog Goose. I got daily texts with pictures and he really put our minds at ease so we could enjoy our vacation.”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
