“Dina was an excellent caregiver for our energetic pet! She was very welcoming and engaged immediately with Fiadh, and provided photos and updates while we were away on an overnight. Dina has a large fenced yard which was very important for our high-energy pet! We recommend Dina 100% and will definitely contact her again when we need support!”

“Keith (and his wife) were phenomenal dogsitters for our two-year-old goldendoodle pup who stayed with them this past weekend, while we attended a wedding out of state. Keith kept us updated with many photos and updates during Teddy’s stay, which put my mind at ease as a very attached dog mom :) . We will definitely book with Keith again in the future!”

“Meli was a great sitter! She’s very friendly and attentive. She also has great communication and gave us plenty of updates. I can tell our puppy had a great time while staying with her 😊”

“Becky took such great care of our 2yr old mini-Aussie for two weeks so we could take an extended trip this summer. The day before we left, he licked a hot spot in his paw so we had to leave him with meds, a spray and a cone. Becky didn’t seem bothered by it at all and was gracious and caring and updated us with pics of our pup and his paw so we were at ease. Won’t hesitate to have Becky watch him again!”

“For a recent family vacation we used DogVacay for the first time. Mariann was an excellent introduction to the service. We received daily messages with images, so we always knew our dog was in good hands. Highly recommend.”
“Julie and Tiff to great care of my dogs! They had them for 4 days and sent me multiple updates each day. Communication was great and I love the pics they sent me. When I picked them up I could tell they were happy and well cared for. Would definitely use them again and highly recommend!”

“Cathy and family were awesome. The meet and great was easy and comfortable, and Cathy was extremely responsive. Our trip was extended and they happily kept our dog for an extra night. We will absolutely be working with Cathy again! Highly recommended.”

“I left my Great Dane in Gabriel’s care for a week. She was well taken care of and had plenty of exercise and play time with other pups he was looking after. We loved seeing the video and photo updates Gabriel shared throughout the week. I would definitely recommend him and will definitely be using him to watch my dog in the future!”

“Paige was really nice and caring. She took care of our 5-years-old golden retriever for 9 days, sending pictures to us everyday that showed how comfortable our dog was at her home. When our return flight was delayed due to winter storm, we had to extend the stay twice for another 3 days. Paige accommodated the requests without any issue. I highly recommend Paige to take good care of your critters and would book again without hesitation.”

“Elaine and her husband Ken are wonderful. I felt assured and at ease with my pup Gator staying both overnight & day time with them. Very professional, caring, kind, keeps me updated through stay, great yard for play. Gator is excited to see her and their dog Brady when driving towards their house. My husband and I will definitely have Elaine take our pup again !!”
“Emily is the best! Our pup always comes back home a happy girl. In addition to all the love she gives Maple, we trust Emily with pick ups and drop offs. She gives great updates and photos - we are grateful.”

“Our pup, Monty, had a great stay with Souvik and Meghan. I would highly recommend to anyone, especially those who might be nervous about boarding their fur babies. It was Monty's first stay with non-family and from the first meeting I felt very comfortable! They answered all of my questions and gave us daily updates with pictures so we knew that he was settling in okay! They treated our pup like their own and we are so grateful!”

“Dana was great! I got daily updates on my dog, who's usually pretty anxious with strangers. Having access to a secluded backyard for private exercise away from other dogs was super useful!”

“I can’t say enough good things about Emily. She was very flexible with my schedule, the communication was amazing. Mostly importantly she was wonderful with Stella. She kept me updated with photos and messages and you could see Stella was loving her time with Emily. I would not hesitate to book another stay.”

“Aline was amazing! She was very easy to communicate with and kept us updated throughout the entire time. We really appreciated all the photos she sent—they showed how happy and comfortable Coco was. She paid attention to every detail and made sure our baby was safe and happy the whole time. Coco had such a great time with her! I will definitely book Aline again in the future. Michael and Susan took wonderful care of Cosmo during his 4-day stay! They sent regular updates, photos, and videos, which gave us so much peace of mind while we were away. Just a couple of days before his stay, Cosmo had an injury and needed to wear a cone and take antibiotics. Michael and Susan were incredibly accommodating and made sure he got the care and medication he needed without any hesitation. It was clear that Cosmo was well cared for and in great hands. We truly appreciated their kindness, communication, and attention to his needs. We would absolutely trust them with Cosmo again and highly recommend them to anyone looking for caring, reliable pet sitters!

Cathy and her family took wonderful care of our two golden retrievers. We appreciated the updates and pictures, throughout each day, during our travels. Both Archie and Maggie always looked happy, having lots of fun and well loved each day while we were gone. Thank you Cathy for taking such good care of our dogs!

Angelica and her dogs are great companions for your pup when you're away. She knows dogs and how to read them. She was very accommodating and friendly, and sent multiple photographs of all the dogs happily playing in her large yard. I will be using her services again in the future. Thanks!

Advait and Apoorva are such a wonderful couple and looked after Goldy with so much care. I was touched to learn that they bought their home with a big backyard so the dogs they foster or board can enjoy it freely. While I joke that Goldy may have had second thoughts about returning home today, it’s only because he was showered with so much love and comfort by them. I’ll truly feel at ease bringing Goldy back here the next time I need to be away.

Sarah is very kind as well as knowledgeable about cats, so I was confident leaving my cat, Maisie, in her care! She provides a nurturing environment and Maisie was very comfortable with her. Sarah was great about communicating and provided frequent updates and photos. I highly recommend Sarah!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
