“Daniel was an excellent drop-in visitor and playmate for our cat Georgie. We really appreciated his friendliness, prompt communication, and genuine affection for our cat. Bonus points for his availability short notice during holiday season as well! We’d definitely recommend Daniel.”

About: I’m a caring, reliable dog lover with experience caring for multiple dogs at once, plus owning a dog myself. Your pet will receive lovingly, attentive care! I am a stay at home mom looking for some extra work, I’d prefer to work afternoons/night but I am flexible if other arrangements are needed! I focus on keeping cats comfortable and stress-free in their own home while their owners are away. I follow your cat’s normal routine closely, including feeding, fresh water, litter box cleaning, playtime, and any special care instructions. I always move calmly and respectfully around cats, especially those that may be shy or anxious. I’m very attentive to changes in behavior, appetite, or health and will communicate with you if anything seems unusual. I also send regular photo updates so you know your cat is safe and well cared for during every visit.
“Georgina did a wonderful job taking care of our kitties! She sent us a report every day of how things went and also sent great photos. Our cats our shy but they went to greet Georgina at the door. She took the time to play with our cats and was patient when they were being shy. I highly recommend Georgina and would definitely hire her to take care of our cats in the future!”

“Nikkita was communicative and easy to work with! She helped out with a last minute request and was attentive, which made our dog’s first Rover visits very easy and enjoyable. Would book again!”

“Danya was very responsive and great at communicating. She left us great summaries after every visit and sent pictures of our 3 cats. Also really appreciated her willingness to come for a free meet and greet before our trip. Will definitely be booking with Danya again!”

About: I don’t know life without furry friends! I was born into a family with two cats and a dog. Growing up, I took care of my own hamsters, fish, and hermit crabs. Since I was 12, I have taken care of my community members’ dogs of all sizes, cats of all temperaments, and small critters. The last 11 years, I’ve been primarily busy with grad school and taking care of my own 3 cats but recently my eldest crossed the rainbow bridge and I now work fully remotely, so have extra love and time to pour into your animals! I have experience with all ages and sizes of dogs. I can also administer medication. I work fully remotely, so will be able to offer constant companionship should you choose to board with me. I also have the flexibility to work from your house to play and walk your pups. My weekends are totally free. If I were to stay in your home to care for your dog, I would treat your home with the utmost respect and be able to keep the dog to his/her usual routine. I am comfortable with having your pup in my car if they like rides, need to go to the vet, or driven to a park. If you’d like me to host your dog in my home, I would keep them in my finished basement to separate them from my 2 cats to ensure everyone’s safety. I have a yard and live close to two different parks.
“I would definitely book with Brittany again! She had great communication and responded quickly. We felt very comfortable leaving our two cats in her care and she did a great job!”

“Tricia was fantastic. She was able to help out last minute, and was very flexible with the timing of visits. Each visit she sent lots of pictures of our 3 kitties, which was great! She took great care of our cats while we were away, and I would not hesitate to recommend her.”

“Deirdre took great care of my cat Nami for four days while I was away on vacation. My cat is picky about playing, so I left a few playing tips. It’s good to know that Deirdre was actively trying those tips to play with her! Besides, Deirdre followed our routines for feeding, and cleaning litter boxes. Thanks Deirdre!”

“Nat was great with our big, overly friendly pups. She knew how to handle them. She was on time and very responsive to use in arranging for her to dog sit. We will work with Nat again.”

“Lucy was very kind and was easy to communicate with. We haven’t left our cats alone for very long at a time but Lucy made it easy with her thorough check-ins and updates. The cats seem very content and normal when returning home.”

“Lindsey was great! Our cat is a little spicy, but she warmed up to Lindsey quickly, which is a true testament to her calming a sweet nature. She truly cares for the animals she looks after. We will definitely rebook Lindsey in the future!”

“Sarah was really great with our two cats! She was able to give our one cat the meds she needs and sent many updates throughout the week! She was very attentive and always answered right away. Definitely will book with Sarah again in the future!”

“Rachel has been an awesome find! She is flexible and super communicative. We appreciate her attentiveness to our boy Moose and look forward to continuing to have her care for him!”

About: Hi! We’re Jaycee and James, a dog-loving couple who are excited to welcome your pup into our home! 🐾 We have two dogs of our own — Bentley, our playful and energetic 2-year-old Golden Retriever, and Bailey, our sweet and cuddly 4-year-old mini Bernedoodle. They both love having a furry friend around, so we’re only able to care for dogs who are friendly and comfortable around other dogs. We’re an active household and love spending time outdoors. Our apartment community has two private dog parks, and we have plenty of walking and hiking trails nearby. Whether your dog loves a long walk and playtime or would rather relax and cuddle at home, we’re happy to match their routine and energy level. James works from home, so there is almost always someone home with the dogs throughout the day. We also only care for one guest dog at a time, which allows us to give your pup plenty of individual attention and make them feel like part of the family. We know how important it is to feel comfortable leaving your dog with someone else, and we’ll treat your pup like one of our own! ❤️ James works from home, so there is almost always someone home with the dogs throughout the day. We have a flexible schedule and can provide regular walks, playtime, attention, and companionship. We’re happy to follow your dog’s normal routine as closely as possible. We provide a safe, comfortable, home-based environment where your dog can be part of our family. We only care for one guest dog at a time and require dogs to be friendly and comfortable around other dogs, since we have Bentley and Bailey. We follow your instructions carefully and prioritize your dog’s comfort, safety, and individual needs.
“I highly recommend Salina as a pet sitter! She has visited our kitty boys during 2 separate vacations and was excellent at communication, taking photos, and even looking out for us (she closed our slightly ajar freezer during her visit!). Thanks, Salina!!!”

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.

All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Ashland. On Rover:
- 91% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 96% can help with giving oral medications or injections

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
