“Rachel did a fabulous job taking care of our dog while we were at my daughter's graduation. We didn't have to worry about a thing while we were gone. Thanks, Rachel!”

“Linh is fantastic! She house sat for our two pups while we were on vacation for a week. I'm usually nervous about leaving our pups with a new sitter, especially after we had a bad experience with one (not thru Rover) a few years back. But Linh's knowledge and calm, confident demeanor instilled confidence in me so I was able to relax and enjoy our vacation. She sent updates and frequent photos throughout the week. Not only did she leave our house the way we left it, but she washed all of the sheets and towels which was not expected but very much appreciated. We will be using her again for our next vacation and I know the pups will be excited to see her again!”

“Julie did a great job with my three dogs, who are a handful (90 pound reactive elderly Shepard, 80 pound willful Golden, and 11 pound Chihuahua mix who can be stubborn on walks). We worked together beforehand to talk about what would work best both for the dogs and for Julie so that she was set up for success. We did a few walks together and then she did a few on her own before our travel dates, which made me, and more importantly, the dogs, feel really comfortable with her. She was wonderful about giving updates including pictures, and overall communicated perfectly. She took great care of my dogs and seemed very confident about handling them. I am thrilled to have someone on hand who can take care of my pack when I am away. I highly recommend Julie for taking care of your pets. She also took care of my parent's elderly cat during the same time period and did a great job on that, too.”

“Tricia was fabulous! Our dogs loved her. She took great care of our dogs and our home while we were away. She left our house spotless, took the dogs for long walks which they loved, and kept us updated with texts and photos. We were delayed getting home due to a blizzard, and she could not have been more flexible or helpful. Cannot recommend enough!”

“Eric provided great care for dogs and they enjoyed getting to stay home vs. being sent away to boarding. Would reach out to Eric if I need house sitting in the future.”

“Cam did a great job caring for my 2 dogs. This was the second time Cam had taken care of them while I was out of town for a week each. I recommend Cam to watch your animals as Cam is certainly an animal lover! Thanks, Cam for your help.”

“Becki went and above and beyond while house sitting and taking care of our beloved tripod. She took such good care of our pup. She followed all instructions and requests and even took her out on additional walks. Becki is the best!”

About: I grew up with three dogs, have dog-sat for neighbors, and lived with a cat that I helped care for. I am very energetic and I have cared for puppies and both large and small dogs. I have a full time job with some flexibility, so I am free most evenings/nights and all of Saturday. My Sunday availability is in the morning to mid-day. I am happy to play with and entertain pets, and follow your instructions on feeding, walks, and house rules. I have had an anxious dog, so I want to make sure your pet is comfortable.
“Jackie was absolutely amazing, I wish I could give her more than 5 stars. We have two Siberian Huskies that can be a handful, but she handled them with such ease. Jackie was communicative and sent enough pictures and updates where we felt comfortable and informed, but gave us enough space where we weren’t bombarded about the dogs the whole time we were away. I honestly didn’t worry about my dogs for even a minute from the moment we left, which is a first for me. We came home to two tired pups and a super clean house! I’d highly recommend Jackie to anyone I know.”

“Chelsea did an amazing job caring for my dog, Rue! From the moment we connected, she was professional, attentive, and genuinely caring. It gave me such peace of mind knowing Rue was in such great hands. Chelsea kept me updated, treated Rue like her own, and went above and beyond to make sure she was happy and comfortable. I couldn’t have asked for a better dogsitter and would highly recommend her to anyone looking for trustworthy and loving pet care. Five stars all the way!”

“I had an amazing experience with my dog and pig sitter, Eliza, who stayed at my home for over a week. She took exceptional care of both my dog and pig, and I came home to animals that were clearly happy, relaxed, and well-loved. Eliza made sure both animals received their medicine (rolling with the punches because Buddy got an infection right before we left so it was an added responsibility she took on in stride) Eliza was incredibly thoughtful and sent regular photo updates, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear from the pictures and her communication that my pets were getting real attention, not just basic care. She was also very communicative and responsive whenever I had questions, which made everything feel easy and stress-free. My dog Buddy clearly bonded with her during the stay, he actually seemed a little sad when Eliza left, buddy went to the room she stayed in when we got home from our trip 😂 before sleeping where he usually. Highly recommend I would trust Eliza again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive pet sitter.”

“Paulina was a great sitter to our Bella. She was super professional and made sure to ask all the questions she needed to know in order to take care of our puppy. Correspondence was great throughout the night, she sent us updates with pictures which was greatly appreciated. Thank you Paulina 😊!”

Over the years, I’ve volunteered at animal shelters and provided dog walking and pet sitting services for friends and family. My own dog, Jackson, is a tripawd who requires extra attention and specialized care, which has given me firsthand experience with patience, adaptability, and understanding each dog’s unique needs. Whether your pup is energetic and playful, senior and slower-paced, or requires a little extra support, I’m committed to providing safe, reliable, and loving care. I understand that pets are family, and I’ll treat your dog with the same care, attention, and affection that I give my own. I am a part-time massage therapist/esthetician who works a second shift schedule. I am available for pet care until 1:30pm on Mon-Wed, and have full availability on Thursdays and Fridays. I am not available on weekends. I prioritize safety, trust, and clear communication when caring for your pet. During drop-in visits and walks, I will ensure your dog is secure, comfortable, and gets the attention they need. I will always follow your instructions regarding routines, feeding, medications, and any special care requirements. Whether it’s a potty break, neighborhood walk, or local trail adventure, your dog’s safety and well-being are my top priorities. I’ll also provide updates and photos so you can feel confident your pet is in good hands.
“Sam came through at the last minute to house sit during a birthday celebration after another sitter canceled. Not only did he save the day, but he provided even higher quality care than we could have imagined. Our 6 month old puppy adored him from the moment he walked into our apartment. He asked great questions before we left and within minutes of being gone she was snuggled up with him on the sofa. He provided fun and informative updates that put us at ease while we were away—allowing us to fully enjoy the night. Sam is now our go-to sitter. We will certainly book his services in the future. Highly recommend for knowledgeable, playful, and attentive care for your pet.”

“Salina was amazing! She watched my highly dramatic Frenchie, Sassy Cat and my little old lady Cat for nine days. I could not be more thankful for the care that she gave them. She was excellent at communicating. She made me feel comfortable, knowing that while I was away, everyone was being taken care of. When we got home, I had three happy animals and my house was immaculate.”

Jacqueline did a great job house sitting / taking care of our cat, Sasha for 2 weeks! She was on time, provided plenty of updates and I could tell Sasha was very comfortable with her (and I didn’t have to worry much about being gone for so long). We will definitely be booking Jacqueline again!

Sam has been a reliable dog sitter for us for about 2 years now. He seems very caring to our dogs and they are happy and healthy when we get home. He’s been very understanding as we always seem to have some random, unplanned big thing happening at the house when he’s here (like a roof replacement that stranded him inside the house and an unscheduled mulch drop that we didn’t even know about). He leaves the house spotless too.
I am a CEO with high standards. I can not say enough good things about Carlos. I met him because my 15 year old Cav is on his last road and I travel a lot. Carlos was meticulous about prep and our dog's issues, meds, needs, situation, etc. He took detailed notes of our conversations and came over to meet in person before either of us committed. I just returned from Asia. Carlos texted every day I was away - with photos!! He is extraordinarily skilled at vet medicine because of his job. The dog's issues were fewer when I returned -and - Carlos had weaned him down on his meds as well. It was amazing. In addition, Carlos truly loves my dog. When I got home he had left a portrait of my dog he had taken and framed - a gift to me. Lucky to have found him!

Kelly is one of those very special people with a real passion for dogs! What a treat for our toy poodle to get to hang with her for the holiday weekend. We were totally comfortable traveling out of state knowing she was in charge. We look forward to engaging Kelly again for future travel plans. She is awesome.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Southborough walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Southborough maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Southborough choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
