“Elaine was an outstanding host for our dog, Lucy! This was Lucy’s first week in doggy day care since we adopted her and we were anxious about she’d cope with the separation. We could tell that with each day, Lucy grew more and more comfortable with Elaine and the environment and even made some new friends along the way. We would highly recommend Elaine.”

“Maeve took excellent care of our puppy, Barnaby. It was his first time with a sitter, and first time meeting another dog, and Maeve made it so easy. She communicated with me promptly, sent photos, and Barnaby loved being with her. 100% recommend.”

“Joanne has watched my dogs many times and is very dedicated to their care. Her whole living space is made with dogs in mind and she is very attentive to their needs. I have been using her services for years.”

“Nancy has been a fantastic caregiver for my dog! Her communication is thorough, she sends me pictures throughout the day, and she has been really wonderful about all of my pet’s medical needs. She feels like a real partner! A+ for Nancy!”

“My pup, Beau enjoyed his time with Victoria and her two dogs a lot; he was very happy when I picked him up and will look forward to spending much more time with Victoria and her lovely home with a fenced-in yard.”

“Meli took such great care of my fur baby! From the moment I was in touch with Meli, I felt safe and excited about the opportunity to have Ollie spend the day with her and her pup Nina. She was warm and assuring, and very quick to respond to messages! When I met Meli in person to drop Ollie off, I was happy to find such a friendly and kind person in real life, too! She sent me photos and updates throughout the 6 hours that Ollie was with her for “day care” (without me even needing to ask!) and I could tell he was having fun and being taken care of so well! I would absolutely recommend Meli and would love to have Ollie stay with her again if we need a sitter in Bloomington. Thanks Meli! ?”
About: With over a decade of hands-on experience as a dedicated pet owner and caregiver, I bring a wealth of knowledge in pet care, particularly in the nurturing of dogs of all breeds and sizes, as well as cats. Currently, I share my home with a lively Chihuahua and two feline companions, while also extending my care to several clients' beloved canines. Additionally, I have undergone training in positive-reinforcement techniques and clicker training methods. Before commencing services, I typically offer a complimentary "Meet and Greet" session. This serves as an invaluable opportunity for us to meet face-to-face, allowing me to familiarize myself with your pets and home environment. Moreover, it's an ideal time to exchange pertinent information such as door codes, keys, and entry instructions. Please note, for services requiring travel to your location, such as dog walks, drop-ins, and house sitting, that rates may vary depending on the distance from my residence in Marlborough. My schedule is structured to accommodate pet care seamlessly into my daily and weekly routine. With several regular pet clients whom I walk during the week, I may be away for 4-6 hours at a time, ensuring each pet receives the attention and exercise they require. In all services I provide, whether it's house sitting, walks, drop-ins, boarding, or daycare, I prioritize safety, trust, and creating a comfortable environment for your beloved pets. Depending on the specific service offered, I tailor my care methods to suit the unique needs of each pet, ensuring they feel secure and well-cared for in both my home and yours.
“Emma did an amazing job taking care of Bella. Bella was very active and got lots of exercise/activity and the picture updates were wonderful. We were a bit late picking up Bella (due to work issues) and Emma was beyond accommodating, for which we're thankful. Will definitely book again if she'll have us back. :) Thank-you!”

“I dropped off my puppy at Jacqueline’s apartment at 7 AM. She took great care of her, walking her and sending me updates via pictures (though she didn’t have to)! Thank you so much, Jacqueline!”

“We are once again repeat customers with Anastasia, and she took great care of my pup while I was away for the day. He always comes home tired and happy after a day with Anastasia.”

About: With over 15 years of experience as a retired, rewards-based dog trainer, I bring exceptional pet care expertise to the table. I have my own dog, so I understand the deep bond and special care pets require. My fenced yard provides a safe, spacious area for your pets to play and exercise. My background in training means I am skilled in managing puppies and providing attentive senior care, ensuring your pet's happiness and well-being while you're away. My dedication and personal touch set me apart from other sitters, offering a reliable and loving environment for your furry family members. Pet care fits seamlessly into my daily routine as I work from home most days, allowing me to provide consistent and attentive care. I take frequent breaks during the day to take pets out for playtime or leashed walks, often at the nearby state park. These walks typically last about an hour, depending on the weather. I ensure all walks are on-leash for safety. This routine allows me to balance my work and pet care effectively, ensuring your pet gets the attention and exercise they need. I have a very friendly Australian Labradoodle and three sons, ages 16, 15, and 11, who love having new dogs to play with. When caring for pets in my home, I ensure they feel welcomed and comfortable in a family-friendly environment. My children enjoy playing and interacting with the pets, providing them with plenty of attention and stimulation.
“Kathy was great with Comet. She sent lots of pictures and gave him lots of treats and love. And Franklin was an excellent host too. Kathy was very communicative and asked lots of questions before we met, making us feel safe leaving Comet there. We would absolutely use her again!”

Sitters on Rover can offer flexible scheduling, so you can coordinate times that work best for you and your pet—whether that’s early drop-off or later pick-up to match your Southborough commute.
If your schedule changes, it’s best to let your sitter know through the app as early as possible. Many sitters can adjust pick-up and drop-off times when needed.
Think of doggy day care as your dog’s fun, supervised play date that happens to fit into your workday. Day care through Rover takes place in a real home. This offers a calmer and more personalized environment for your pup.
A typical day can include companionship, one-on-one attention, and same day pick-up and drop-off. Many sitters can also offer structured routines and exercise throughout the day. For recurring, weekly day care, sitters will include photo updates so you can see your dog in their element.
Here are tips for finding the ideal day care fit for your dog:
- For some small dogs: In-home day care can be the perfect fit. Look for sitters whose "can host" section only lists dogs weighing 0–7 kilograms and/or 7–18 kilograms. During your Meet & Greet, ask about play areas based on dog size and energy level.
- For high-energy dogs: The ideal doggy day care can offer scheduled breaks and outdoor spaces or activities. You can also find sitters who host multiple dogs to satisfy your pup’s socializing needs.
- For dogs who prefer human-only companionship: Use the filters "Doesn't own a dog" and "Only accepts one pet at a time" to find the right care.
Play groups can be an option when you book with a day care sitter through Rover. Many sitters do host a small number of dogs at the same time. Smaller dog packs are generally safer, more fun, and ideal for dogs who enjoy playtime but also want to relax throughout the day. When looking for your dog’s pack, check the sitter’s profile to see if they "Accept multiple clients" or have their own dogs. Then during the Meet & Greet, you can see whether your dog is a good fit for their social circle!
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, Rover is well-suited for finding sitters who can care for your pet within 24 hours. With 2,993 sitters in Southborough, 87% respond to messages in under an hour.
You can message multiple sitters simultaneously to find the fastest available match. If you need care today or tomorrow, you can look for sitters with a "calendar last updated" notice on their profiles.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
