“We were out of town for 9+ days and Rochelle did a great job with our kitty cat! :) She was super attentive and went above and beyond in terms of keeping us updated as well as small things around the home (watering the plants, picking up the mail, etc.). I would 100% book her again to look after our pet and can't recommend her highly enough!”

“Hannah is so accommodating and kind. My puppy loved her company. She took her for a nice long walk, gave her some water/food and even cleaned up a little bit of the mess the puppy had made on the floor. 100% recommended!”

“Irene was great with dropping in on my two cats while I was away on a long work trip. Both my cats are unique, and she understood immediately how to work with their different temperaments. Also, she was able to communicate well with me throughout the 10-days. When I was having issues with the Rover app, she was understanding and helpful and we quickly figured out any issues. I’d recommend Irene and work with her again. Thanks!”

“Christa was a great pet sitter! She kept us updated with pictures and a summary of each visit and she made us feel comfortable about leaving our cat at home. We will definitely be asking Christa to come back for future cat sitting needs! I’d give her 5 stars all around!!”

“Claire is excellent! She did a wonderful job and took care of everything that was requested and more. We really appreciate her communication and kindness! I would highly recommend Claire and would book again!”

I work a full-time job, but in the evenings and on the weekends I am available to care for and spend time with your pets! I will do my very best to keep a consistent lifestyle and schedule for your pets by providing care in the comfort of their own home. I can provide walks, cuddles, tug-of-war battles and more!
“Katrina is warm, communicative, and so great with our dog Crystal. We have asked her to drop in on her on two separate occasions and Chrissy is always well taken care of and happy!”

“Bex was such a great first experience using Rover. She kept us connected with photos and messages letting us know how each check in went. She made our first time away from our animals super positive and will definitely use her again! Thanks Bex!”

About: Hi! My name is Katie! I am a student at Penn State and a lover of all creatures, large and small! I have had family dogs throughout my childhood. I have experience with puppies, senior dogs, breeds with longer coats, and both large and small breeds. I also have experience with handling rescues of various sizes with different triggers. I also have grown up with cats and have experience with all ages and sizes too! Additionally, I have experience with caring for pet rabbits. I have had several over the years. **I do not have experience with disabled or dogs with special needs, however I am willing to learn and accommodate whenever necessary! I am currently working part-time and am a part-time student at Penn State (student status subject to change). I will have plenty of time to tend to your fur babies! I cannot provide boarding services at this time, so all my pet care services will be at or around your home. I can walk the dogs, play with them, make sure they are properly fed and watered, and take them outside regularly.
“As always Michelle goes above and beyond for our girl. With our constantly changing schedule in athletics it can be difficult to find the flexibility Michelle offers. Thank you again for always working with us and taking the best care of Maeve!”

“Emmy was fantastic with my cat 💕🐈 She was so sweet and communicative which gave me peace of mind while I was out of the country! Not to mention that my cat absolutely LOVED her from the moment she met her! Emmy made sure Cleo got quality social time, not just the basics which was exactly what I wanted. Very, very happy with this booking and cannot wait to have Emmy watch my girl again for several upcoming trips this year! Couldn’t recommend her more highly!”

About: Hello! I am a junior at Penn State majoring in Material Science and Engineering! For dog parents, I started my pet parent journey with dogs 😊. While I personally don’t have a dog, I’ve taken many of my friends’ dogs out for walks/runs and I’m very comfortable with all personalities. I live an active lifestyle so for those with high energy dogs, I’d love to offer my services. For cat parents, my family and I have been taking care of cats for the better part of 4 years now. We’ve been through almost all emergencies, hurdles, and hoops so you can trust you’re putting your cats in good hands 😊. I’m currently a full time student at PSU university park but right now over the summer many of my classes are online so my calendar is incredibly flexible for pet care routines. As a Penn State student, I’m responsible and dependable. I always follow the owner’s care instructions, make sure pets have water, exercise, and attention, and keep them safe during walks and visits. I’ll also send updates and photos so you know your pet is doing well while you’re away.

“Ruth was excellent with our cat, Alice, when she stopped in as we were away. She sent excellent photos of Alice looking very relaxed with her! Would happily have Ruth stay with her again.”

“Leigh did a wonderful job!! We appreciated her communication and how thorough she was with feeding and walking our dogs. We would definitely have Leigh again to take care of our fur babies!!”

“Jana does a great job and we will continue to utilize her for our pet sitting needs! She is a great communicator and her messages always make me laugh. I can’t compliment her professionalism and consistency enough.”

Once again Samantha was great and I was thankful I was able to book her somewhat last minute! She made sure my cat got all of her medicine, which is not always an easy task, and went above and beyond by bringing in mail/ packages and watering some of my plants (which I did not ask her to do).

Our kitten, elderly golden, and my partner and I love Katrina! She is very communicative and reliable, and we feel very comfortable with and look forward to her taking care of our cat and dog. We’ve used her services a few times now and will continue to do so. Highly recommend!

Miri was AMAZING with my two kitty girls! She went above and beyond - took great care of them. She was very communicative & took so many photos (in which the girls looked SO relaxed - my senior cat even came out for visits which is very unusual, sitters rarely see her)! My only complaint is that I wish I had booked her sooner during my time at PSU - she is a fantastic sitter who has her own cats & really has such a good vibe! Thank you Miri!!!! 🫶🏻🐾

Irene did a great job watching our two kittens and adult cat while we were on vacation. She was very attentive, thoughtful, and responsive. She made sure our fur babies were taken care of which allowed us to enjoy our time away with no worries. Thank you Irene!
Couldn’t recommend Bailee highly enough! She took great care of my cat whilst I was away and kept in touch the whole time, had absolutely zero issues at all. She went above and beyond with a couple extra things I needed help with as well which was nice She made sure she was fed, had fresh water, played with her, spent time with her, and kept everything clean each day. It was clear she genuinely cared and treated her really well. If you’re looking for someone reliable and thoughtful to look after your cat (or any pet) I’d definitely recommend Bailee.

Emerson was amazing! She took such good care of our pets while we were away. She even came for extra visits to make sure they were adjusting to us being away. She went above and beyond! Our dogs and cat loved being around her. I could not recommend her more!

Esmee did an incredible job taking care of my cat Teto over the winter period. They were always on time and did everything I had asked of them, and more! They were incredibly attentive and would play with him each day. I'd highly recommend Esmee to anybody who's looking for a reliable and sweet pet sitter. They also sent me sweet photos of him every day!

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in State College. On Rover:

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
