About: My family has had dogs my entire life so I am experienced in dog care, I also watch the dogs of some of my friends when they are out of town. I am a grad student so my schedule is very flexible. I am able to check on cats in the morning and at night, helping with routine related activities (e.g. feeding, changing water, etc) I have a safe and secure home with minimal clutter, since I myself have a cat I make sure to keep dangerous things out of his reach and am conscious of reducing risk in all situations. For example, my cat does not have access to bags (to reduce risk of suffocation), or medicines, or sharp objects.
“Jamie was fantastic with our 2 dogs, staying overnight in our house. Our pups warmed up to her quickly and we knew they were well taken care of. She was very responsive and good at sending pictures as well. We will definitely use her again in the future!”
“Katrina took such good care of my pup Frankie during their house-sit! Frankie is a high-energy pitbull mix. Katrina sent regular updates and communicated really clearly. When I got home, Frankie was happy and doing really well, and my house was in perfect condition. Would book Katrina again in a heartbeat.”

About: I bought a dog last semester of college. I was 20 years old and learned fast how to care for them. I grew up always having a dog around as well. I am currently a student at Penn State, but also am always making time to care for my own puppy, who loves being with other doggies. In my home my dog plays outside where it js fenced in. I feed him twice a day, play with him, and take him for at least one walk every day.
“Irene was awesome. We had an initial meeting to review all details, and she sent updates and pictures of our furbabies. We will be reaching out to Irene again and highly recommend her services.”

“Ruth did a great job with Ruby while I had a quick business trip. She always takes great care of her when I am away. I would highly recommend her to any e looking for a sitter.”

“Bailee took extremely good care of my french bulldog Tank. Not only was she very accommodating and checked in frequently, she also was able to respond and watch him within a days notice. Bonus points for taking him on a long walk and to see my fraternity brothers… Definitely recommend, and will use again.”

“Maya was amazing and will be my first pick for watching my animals from now on. Super professional, sent me updates, and I felt so at ease leaving my babies in her care. (Almost didn’t leave a review because I don’t want her to be too in demand!)”

About: I have experience working at a doggy daycare and friends and family have trusted me in the past to watch their animals while on vacation worry-free! I would be honored if you chose me to take care of your furry friends! I’m currently a senior at Penn State, but my schedule for the spring and my final semester allows me to be at home for a good majority of the day. The most I would be gone is 3-5 hours tops. I do not have a fenced in yard, but my apartment complex has a fenced in area for dogs to run around, and I am willing to take them on walks as needed. It is preferable that they would be able to go in a crate when I’m not home, but if they are fine to wander around on their own and they have not had any problems, then that is doable.
About: I am an animal lover and look forward to meeting your babies! My babies are Flopsy, Mopsy and Cottontail - 3 DSH cats that are sisters and brother. I love spending time with them, grooming, petting and cuddling. I know that every pet has its own personality and I am eager to get to know your pet(s) and their personalities. I have general walking/sitting experience with all types and sizes of dogs, but there is a special place in my heart for pitties. I am an LPN with years of experience in assisted living facilities - not sure that translates directly to pet care but it has taught me patience and given me an instinct for when medical things are afoot. I’m a full time night shifter, so my availability is mostly on my days off. I can do visits in the early am and late evening. Ideally I will be transitioning to full time freelancing within 2026, so I will have more availability. I have had cats, dogs, fish, lizards, a tarantula, hamsters, and rats/mice. I am an animal lover overall. I will happily feed snakes, spiders, and other insects as long as I don’t have to touch them. I have a little bit of experience with parrots and small birds, but I am no bird expert. In the pet world I’m a bit of a ‘Jack of all trades, master of none.’ I will follow all instructions you give me to assure the safety and happiness of your pet while you are away.
“Lauren was great with Mia! This was my first time using a dog sitter, so I was a bit nervous about how Mia would do, but Lauren sent me regular updates and photos, which helped ease my anxiety. Overall, everything went well, and I will definitely be booking Lauren again for future dog-sitting needs.”

“Sarah was wonderful with our Groot. She did everything we asked and was fantastic in sending us updates and photos. She was excellent at communicating throughout the process. Upon meeting her, she displayed a demeanor that gave us great comfort that our girl would be well cared for. We highly recommend Sarah and look forward to her spending more time with our pup in the future.”

“Mary has been such an attentive and thoughtful dog sitter for us. She’s done multiple extended overnight stays, and I can confidently say we finally feel at ease traveling knowing our dogs are being taken such good care of. She sends daily updates of their adventures, asks questions when needed, and is always responsive. We cannot recommend her enough!”

“Candice was so amazing! She took such good care of our pup and gave us lots of photos and updates while we were away. We will definitely be using her services again in the future! She even put away some of the clean dishes we had left out!”

“Harlow is a young and super high energy dog so it takes a lot of work to take care of her. Sarah did an amazing job and sent a bunch of pictures to calm my nerves. She also responded really fast when I'd reach out to her. I will definitely be having sarah watch harlow again!”

“Kelsey responded promptly with a very immediate need we needed for overnight sitting. It is always a little nerve-wracking to leave your animals and house in the hands of someone new but Kelsey made it all seamless. She communicated often and had everything under control with little direction, given our short notice. Our high energy dog was worn out with all the attention and play. I would highly recommend Kelsey and hope we have the opportunity to have her help again.”

“Kristen was amazing! It was our first time leaving our pup and she took such good care of him! We got pictures and updates the entire time we were gone. I’m so thankful our puppy was with someone who understood him and had the patience to deal with his energy and puppy tactics. We will definitely work with Kristen again in the future!”

“Leigh was amazing with our sweet Golden as well as looking after our old farmstead while enjoyed a week away. She took care of everything and communicated daily with photos. She even handled the Hurricane impacts on the house with care. We were so pleased with all She did for us. Our pup was well cared for and clean upon our return. Highly recommend her services.”

State College pet parents share their Rover experiences
Lauren did an excellent job house sitting for us and caring for 3 dogs and 2 cats. She took great care of our pets and followed our directions and kept their routines consistent. I really appreciate how she was attentive to things and provided a safe environment for our pets. She took great care of our house too. She is a wonderful pet sitter!
Zoe was perfect when watching our dog Sadie. She communicated well, responded promptly during booking arrangements and confirmation before the trip. Photos sent of Sadie helped us feel at ease. Zoe was equally as good in house sitting and left our home as clean as we left it for her. If you’re looking for someone, (even for the worry-est of pet owners) Zoe is the perfect fit. We will certainly be requesting her services in the future.
Rachel is the very best! She took wonderful care of Bentley while we were away for our son's wedding. We didn't have a worry in the world knowing Bentley was in her hands Rachel gave us frequent updates with photos and was quick to respond when we reached out to check on him. We will certainly be calling Rachel again in the future. She is wonderful!
