About: Hello! I am a junior at Penn State majoring in Material Science and Engineering! For dog parents, I started my pet parent journey with dogs 😊. While I personally don’t have a dog, I’ve taken many of my friends’ dogs out for walks/runs and I’m very comfortable with all personalities. I live an active lifestyle so for those with high energy dogs, I’d love to offer my services. For cat parents, my family and I have been taking care of cats for the better part of 4 years now. We’ve been through almost all emergencies, hurdles, and hoops so you can trust you’re putting your cats in good hands 😊. I’m currently a full time student at PSU university park but right now over the summer many of my classes are online so my calendar is incredibly flexible for pet care routines. As a Penn State student, I’m responsible and dependable. I always follow the owner’s care instructions, make sure pets have water, exercise, and attention, and keep them safe during walks and visits. I’ll also send updates and photos so you know your pet is doing well while you’re away.
“First time using this using this app. I had some last minute things come up on a holiday weekend and was very fortunate to come across Katherine. She is so responsive and flexible, she come over to get squinted with my animal the same night I placed my request and checkin during her visits and outside of here visit to make sure my animal we safe and cared for in case of any emergency. It really show how much delight she get out of this type of work and I trust her in my home and with my animals. I was very hesitant to use this type of service with someone I didn’t know and was in a dire position with no available friend to ask. Now this app/Katherine may just might be my go to for any (ideally planned in advanced 😅) time I’ll be out of town. And become of Katherine I was able be relaxed an ld worry free about my four-legged loved one at home and show up to support the people I love in a very pivotal and spiritual moment in their life and gain an experience and memories I will never forget.”

“Dave did a wonderful job watching my goldendoodle puppy, Hank! He provided Hank with lots of exercise and training exercises to meet the needs of my energetic pup! Dave left a descriptive note with all the details of his visit and many adorable pics of Hank! Thank you, Dave! Your assistance was much appreciated by Hank and me, and we would love to have you watch Hank again in the future!”

“Claire is excellent! She did a wonderful job and took care of everything that was requested and more. We really appreciate her communication and kindness! I would highly recommend Claire and would book again!”

“Our kitten, elderly golden, and my partner and I love Katrina! She is very communicative and reliable, and we feel very comfortable with and look forward to her taking care of our cat and dog. We’ve used her services a few times now and will continue to do so. Highly recommend!”

“Irene was great with dropping in on my two cats while I was away on a long work trip. Both my cats are unique, and she understood immediately how to work with their different temperaments. Also, she was able to communicate well with me throughout the 10-days. When I was having issues with the Rover app, she was understanding and helpful and we quickly figured out any issues. I’d recommend Irene and work with her again. Thanks!”

“Samantha was great with my fur babies. She is very responsive and a great communicator. She took excellent care of my dogs and provided detailed reports of their care.”

“Christa was a great caretaker for our cat. Kept to schedule, was prompt with first arrival, and sent us plenty of follow-up photos and texts. We will definitely hire her again!”

“Bex was such a great first experience using Rover. She kept us connected with photos and messages letting us know how each check in went. She made our first time away from our animals super positive and will definitely use her again! Thanks Bex!”

“Esmee did an incredible job taking care of my cat Teto over the winter period. They were always on time and did everything I had asked of them, and more! They were incredibly attentive and would play with him each day. I'd highly recommend Esmee to anybody who's looking for a reliable and sweet pet sitter. They also sent me sweet photos of him every day!”

About: I’ve grown up around dogs my entire life and have always been actively involved in caring for them. I currently have three dogs of my own that I regularly walk, bathe, play with, and care for daily. I have experience with both puppies and senior dogs, and I’m comfortable working with a variety of breeds, including bulldogs and pit bulls. I’m patient, attentive, and genuinely love making dogs feel safe, happy, and cared for. I am a college student who just got back from college so I have an extremely flexible schedule. I am willing to fit to your needs for your fur baby. At my clients home I will play with the dog as advised. If there is a fenced yard I will spend the day outside playing with the dog. If there is no fence we will go on walks and relax within the home.

“Ruth was excellent with our cat, Alice, when she stopped in as we were away. She sent excellent photos of Alice looking very relaxed with her! Would happily have Ruth stay with her again.”

Dave is absolutely the best. He provides great updates and pictures of your pet during his drop in visits. I should also point out that he clearly pays attention to your pet which is evident by the pictures he sends to you. And it should also be noted that he responds to your requests for a drop in very quickly.

Once again Samantha was great and I was thankful I was able to book her somewhat last minute! She made sure my cat got all of her medicine, which is not always an easy task, and went above and beyond by bringing in mail/ packages and watering some of my plants (which I did not ask her to do).

Our kitten, elderly golden, and my partner and I love Katrina! She is very communicative and reliable, and we feel very comfortable with and look forward to her taking care of our cat and dog. We’ve used her services a few times now and will continue to do so. Highly recommend!

Miri was AMAZING with my two kitty girls! She went above and beyond - took great care of them. She was very communicative & took so many photos (in which the girls looked SO relaxed - my senior cat even came out for visits which is very unusual, sitters rarely see her)! My only complaint is that I wish I had booked her sooner during my time at PSU - she is a fantastic sitter who has her own cats & really has such a good vibe! Thank you Miri!!!! 🫶🏻🐾

Laura is the absolute best! I have a rescue dog who is very skeptical of new people, and after using Laura a second time, he has really warmed up to her and trusts her which is a HUGE accomplishment. He normally does not take a treat or play fetch with new people, and he did with her! In addition to her ability to understand my dogs needs and his behavior, I appreciate that she communicates and gives updates after each check-in. It makes me feel so comfortable when traveling and not stressed. Thanks again, Laura!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
