“I had to go out of town for a full week, which is not unusual for me, but a few of my pets are now considered seniors so I don’t feel as comfortable having someone quickly drop food and leave anymore. Allison came for at least half an hour every single time she stopped by. She played with them and made sure that they had enrichment during the day, I could tell treats were definitely enjoyed, and it seemed that everyone was eating very well. I have baby cameras throughout my house to keep an eye on them and every time I checked and they looked so peaceful and happy. In fact, they were even sleeping in bed together, something they haven’t done since one of my others passed away last December. It truly warmed my heart to see how much better they did with her than my usual quick drop by visits. I will definitely be using her again and if you have any senior or shy animals, I would highly recommend her.”
About: I have taken care of family and friends dogs for the past 4 years, both while living in college and while at home. I have experience working with mainly teenage to older dogs, but have some experience working with younger dogs when my family got our first dogs. I am currently in law school here at Penn State and would be available most weekday nights! I can also help on the weekends, but am often traveling for school. With my school work being tiring and often not fun, being able to spend time with dogs, both just hanging out at night and playing in the yard is something I am more than happy to offer! I love dogs and will be very attentive to their needs during my time with them, from any quirky needs they have to keeping on their schedule to make them as comfortable as possible.
About: We love dogs! We enjoyed our beautiful Bichon for 17 years and now we have a Portuguese Water Dog and a rescued Labradoodle. We're looking forward to providing your pup with a fun, safe place to stay. We have a large 4 acre lot with about 1/2 acre of fenced yard. Jodi works part time, which allows for plenty of time for midday play, walks and outdoor time. Our fur babies love playing with each other and we often host play dates with friends and their dogs, that are always a big hit. We know how difficult it is to find someone you trust with your baby, and we look forward to welcoming your dog into our home while you take that business trip or long overdue vacation. Working part time allows for extra time with my dogs...and yours! Our dogs are family - they sit with us on the couch and sleep in our bed. Yours will be free to relax wherever they find most comfortable. We have a fenced yard in addition to a large wooded lot that your babies are sure to enjoy. As a Penn State student, my class schedule leaves plenty of open blocks throughout the day for mid-day walks, feedings, and drop-in visits. About: I grew up in a home that was always full of animals...both big and small. My mother has been a dog person since before I was born, so from an early age, I was attending obedience and agility classes with her, and even participating in a few competitions. By my early teens, I had become the go-to pet sitter for friends and neighbors, regularly caring for their dogs. For five years, prior to 2020, my teenage daughter and I volunteered at an all-volunteer, no-kill animal rescue, where we served as dog walkers and cat caretakers. That experience gave me hands-on skills with a wide range of breeds and temperaments. Until recently, I lived with two dogs of my own (my ex-partner’s pups), and I still frequently care for my mom’s two dogs when she is away helping my sister with her young children. Animals have always been a central part of my life, and I love getting to know each pet’s unique personality while providing them with the care, comfort, and consistency they deserve. My tabby cat, Lavender, and moved to Bellefonte in the spring of 2025, and I look forward to meeting your furry friends! I am a part-time school teacher and am available most weekday afternoons and evenings, as well as most weekends. About: Big or small, I’ve probably kissed it on the nose! My vet hospital experience gives me the ability to acknowledge changes in each species better than most. I’m a lover of horses and cows, so big dogs wouldn’t be any different for me. Carla was amazing! She came to meet our two dogs prior to watching them for us. We were a bit hesitant to use a service as our usual pet sitter was going to be out of town. Miri was AMAZING with my two kitty girls! She went above and beyond - took great care of them. She was very communicative & took so many photos (in which the girls looked SO relaxed - my senior cat even came out for visits which is very unusual, sitters rarely see her)! Laura is the absolute best! I have a rescue dog who is very skeptical of new people, and after using Laura a second time, he has really warmed up to her and trusts her which is a HUGE accomplishment.
