Tess and Curt were absolutely amazing. Easily some of the best people that have ever cared for my dog, Honey! They provided the best environment for her and were incredibly diligent about making sure they were familiar with her schedule, behavior, and personality before she even arrived. Their dog, Finn, was also a joy and the best playmate for Honey. I loved knowing that she was getting so much interaction and stimulation! They also spent a TON of time with Honey and sent me multiple pictures, videos, and updates every day! I never worried about Honey once. I would choose them over and over again and would recommend them to anyone looking for a loving, safe, and involved family to care for their dog. I can’t say enough good things about them!

Jessica and her family were amazing sitters for our Labrador "Bella!" We couldn't have asked for a nicer or kinder family to entrust our fury family member. Bella loved her time with Jessica leaving my wife and I comforted to know she was in good care! Highly recommend Jessica for any pet sitting services. She took the time to periodically send videos and photos during Bella's stay. This further secured our trust that Bella was in good hands and allowed my wife and I to enjoy our vacation. We will definitely use Jessica again!

Derya is THE BEST. He is so kind and empathetic. He watched our 1-year old WILD Husky girl Freya over the Summer and then again this weekend. Knowing my baby is in the best of hands makes it possible to actually enjoy our time away. 10/10 would recommend Derya. We love him. Plus the photo updates are always a bonus.

I had a fantastic experience with Crystal while she looked after my 9-month-old Snowshoe cat, Mavis, during my spring break. Right from the meet and greet, she knew her stuff. She introduced Mavis to her apartment, and her pet is around the same age, Sushi, and gave us some great tips on helping Mavis settle in. The Blink camera in the room where Mavis stayed was a nice touch, allowing Crystal to check in on her whenever she was out, which was reassuring. Plus, she ensured Mavis got plenty of playtime – she understood Mavis's playful side. I was impressed by how Crystal helped Mavis and Sushi become friends. They hit it off after a little supervised playtime, which made me feel even better about leaving Mavis with her. What genuinely set Crystal apart was her communication. She kept in touch throughout my trip, sending updates and adorable pictures of Mavis. It was so reassuring to see Mavis happy and well taken care of while I was away. In short, Crystal is fantastic at what she does. She's caring, professional, and loves animals. I'll definitely be calling on her again next time I need a cat sitter.

About: Hi! I’m a college student at Penn state university with 4–5 years of experience caring for pets. Friends and family have trusted me to feed, bathe, walk, and love their animals like my own. I’m responsible, attentive, and genuinely enjoy spending time with all kinds of pets. Thank you for considering me to care for your amazing companion! Pet care fits naturally into my daily routine. I plan my days around my availability and make sure I have enough time to give each pet the attention, care, and playtime they need. Whether it's feeding, grooming, or just keeping a cat company, I treat it like a priority not a side task. I also stay flexible so I can adjust to each pet’s unique routine and needs. When caring for pets in a client’s home, I prioritize creating a calm and familiar environment by following the pet’s routine as closely as possible. I pay close attention to body language and other cues to understand how the pet is feeling, and I give them the space or affection they need based on their comfort level. I know that trust takes time, especially with animals, and I’m always patient, gentle, and respectful of their boundaries. My goal is to make each pet feel safe, seen, and cared for while their family is away.

About: I’ve always had family animals that I’ve adored and that got my foot into working in rescue! I’ve work with extra small to extra large dogs, a lot of cats and some other species. I feel very comfortable with behavioral differences in different animals. I’ve worked along side very talented vets and techs that have taught me a lot about medical care, as well. I work part time at home with a dog and two cats. I take physical and mental enrichment very seriously for all animals. Any animal I’m caring for comes first everyday. A tired dog is a happy dog. I have friendly animals at home, a large crate if needed and a separate room set up for shy animals to warm up to the other animals. We have a large (not fenced) yard but we take many long walks a day to keep up with physical needs!

Katrina was an absolute blessing while watching our senior dog, Fudge. We were away for our daughter's graduation and she made sure we could be fully present without a second of worry. She took Fudge on gentle walks tailored to his pace, and constantly sent the sweetest videos and photos that had us smiling the whole weekend. You can tell she truly loves senior dogs — she was patient, attentive, and treated Fudge like her own. Returning to a happy, relaxed pup was the best graduation gift we could ask for. We trust Katina 100% and will be booking her again. If you have a senior dog, she’s your person!

Ryan and Michelle responded to my texts and booking request quickly and thoughtfully, despite some of my shortcomings. They arranged my dog’s introduction to their space so that my pup could feel at ease - they allowed her to explore their home on her own terms and and introduced their dogs to her one at a time. They also took their time to listen as I shared information about my girl and they answered my questions with suggestions of how they could meet her needs. Their space felt serene and they both communicated with a calm and kind presence. This allowed me to feel relaxed in their home and peaceful about where I was leaving my girl. Though my dog is middle-aged, this was our first time leaving her with someone she didn’t know. During her time at their home, Ryan and Michelle were able to identify my pups unanticipated needs and the family adjusted their routines to support her while she was in their care. When I returned, they were very welcoming of my arrival and were organized with the transition. They took their time to talk to me about my pups experience, answer my questions and make me feel like my pup would always be welcome back in their home!

I would definitely book Ana again! She was prompt in communication, flexible with scheduling, and had a clean and great space to board my pup for 21 days. This was the longest I've been away from my pup for a while and she sent photos and videos every few days along with an update which I was so grateful for. There were no emergencies or incidents while we were out which just shows how much Ana took care to read the instructions and take the best care of Coral. You should absolutely book Ana!

Our experience (and our two dogs") with Liss and Zach was overwhelmingly positive; we plan to use their services again the next time the poodles need a sitter. They made an extra effort from the beginning to make sure that the 9-day stay while we were traveling would go smoothly. During the stay, when there was any issue (e.g., typically our dogs go on a hunger strike for the first day or two of being boarded in a new environment), they communicated quickly and clearly with us to be sure we were comfortable with how they handled it. Their experience and knowledge of canine care really shows--we think the pups came back better-behaved and in better shape than when we dropped them off. The large fenced yard was great for high-energy, playful dogs like ours. Finally, it was clear that they had grown to like Liss and Zach. Sure, they were glad to see us again, but there was none of the frantic "Save me, get me out of here" reaction we've seen after some boarding experience.

Every sitter has their own rhythm and routine, but most will follow the flow that keeps your dog happiest. Sitters can give meals on your dog's regular schedule, provide a comfortable place for sleep, and plenty of one-on-one attention.

Sitters may also include daily walks in the neighborhood during your dog's boarding stay. You can also request photo and message updates throughout so you can see which local landmarks or neighborhoods your dog is enjoying.

If your dog is a little shy, consider booking a one-night trial stay! This practice run can boost your and your dog’s confidence before your trip.

Preparing for drop-off is easy when you have a checklist! To help your dog settle into their Lemont home-away-from-home, we recommend packing:

  • Health and safety essentials such as their ID tags, vaccination records, medication, and emergency vet or secondary caregiver contacts.
  • Food and gear such as harnesses, collars, food (portioned by day), and an item that smells like you.

The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.

Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .

While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.

Many sitters in PA ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies.

By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.

If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your dog to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your dog is showing signs of possible illness.

For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.

Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
