Pet care experience

A warm family with fenced in yard

Hello fellow pet lovers, my name is Katie. My husband, son, daughter and I live in a three-bedroom house with a large fenced in yard in Dalevue, just a mile from the Penn State campus. I am a stay at home mom and provide Rover services full time. My husband, Joe, works from home and helps with the care of your pets. Our home is state inspected to meet boarding facility standards while offering a warm family environment for your furry friends. Being state inspected, we require health, vaccine, and licensing paperwork for all of our furry guests so that everyone remains safe. A bit about Katie: I raised and trained service dogs as a volunteer for 15 years. I have interned at a local service dog organization in Harrisburg and taken many animal behavior/care classes through Penn State. My care experience includes various medically complex and aging animals including cats, dogs and rats. Right now I’m a stay at home mom and animal caretaker. On the weekends I am a professional face painter while Joe handles the majority of animal care. A bit about Joe: Joe works for Penn State but is at home full time. He participates in all aspects of pet care as needed and may be the one you meet during drop off or pickup. He’s our cuddle coordinator and chief kibble distributor. I would love to discuss your specific animal care needs so please reach out to me with any inquiries. I know that each animal has their specific quirks and expectations and I am more than happy to make a personalized plan to take care of your special furry friend! Drop offs and pickups occur between 730am and 8pm due to family obligations. If you would like a late night pickup or early morning drop off, we’d be happy to keep your furry friend an extra night.

Katie is great. Super friendly and absolutely great with my dog. My dog is always excited to be dropped off for day care, I can't get her out of the truck fast enough most days. Would recommend!

Jessie was happy and healthy after spending the night at Katie's! Katie sent pictures and told us everything went great. Couldn't ask for more, Jessie can't wait to go back!

Katie took great care of Millie and Yogi during our recent visit. Her spacious fenced-in back yard was perfect for the dogs to wander and enjoy outdoors.

Doggy Day Care • nov. 18, 2025

With our live-in dog sitter AKA our daughter now out of college and living out of town we needed to find a new place for our sweet senior dog, Sadie. She has stayed in various kennels all her life but we wanted to find something less noisy and chaotic for Miss Sadie. After researching a number of local listing we figured we would give Katie a try. We needed a doggie day care for one day and then would need a long weekend shortly afterwards. We had a meet and greet with Katie at her place and that went well so we had the day stay while we headed out of town for an event. It may seem strange but other than receiving a happy healthy dog back at the end of the day I watched her bowl movements later that day and the next. Usually after a kennel stay she has loose "soft serve" style of stool. After a stay with Katie and her crew and one other daycare dog, Sadie was having normal stool. To me that means she settled in quickly and was not stressed out during her stay. In a few days Sadie will be headed to overnight camp and we feel confident Sadie will well taken care of.

If your dog has behavioral challenges I always encourage transparency. I cannot protect my guests if I don’t know their personal challenges. Any allergies or sensitivities are also very important for me to know ahead of time. Please include a written note about your friend’s feeding and medication needs. I need vaccine records, rabies certificates, licenses, and will send you a questionnaire to fill out at your convenience.
Each sitter joining Rover needs to pass a background check. And by booking on Rover, you can get photo & message updates, 24/7 support, and reimbursement for eligible vet care.
