“Jana does a great job and we will continue to utilize her for our pet sitting needs! She is a great communicator and her messages always make me laugh. I can’t compliment her professionalism and consistency enough.”

About: I've had 2 dogs, and I had a wonderful list of clients in Vermont. They were friends or became friends. Your dog is my love. I am retired. My daily schedule is fairly flexible right now except for a morning class at the Y. This is my only part-time job. I follow all of your expectations, and I will spend a lot of time cuddling and playing. I also talk a lot to your pets!
“Bailee was great! She cared for Roc & Cookie and spent tons of time with them. That was great since they are high energy dogs who love people. She went above and beyond and we couldn’t be happier with how Bailee took care of our fur babies!!”

About: As a child, my family had a Maltese since he was a puppy and he lived until the age of 15 years old. His life expectancy was around 7 years old, so he was a senior dog. I learned how to take care of my dog at a young age and was responsible for taking care of him. Now, my parents and I have a puppy named Shylo Esch. He is a mix of Bernese mountain dog and mini poodle. I have attended puppy class with him at Manners N' More in Bellefonte, PA. I also frequently walk my family friend's dog who is a Labrador retriever. I grew up around dogs and learning to and caring for them, I have a deep love for taking care of dogs. I am currently job searching and am working to enroll back at Penn State in the fall full time. I usually have appointments scheduled throughout the week and plans with friends/family whenever we have time. When considering booking dog care, I make sure I have the availability for your pup(s) and communicate with you about it. My baby dog, Shylo Esch, has been spoiled by my parents with many toys and treats. He is treat motivated from his puppy training, leashed for outdoor walks and goes in his crate when nobody is home. I hold myself to a strong work ethic when caring for dogs by creating a disciplined yet empathetic stance when caring for fur babies or elderly dogs. In my clients home, I closely follow the rules and duties of the care they require to care for their dogs. I set up a meet n' greet with the dog and owner before committing. I like to meet the dog beforehand to see if we are a good fit by interacting, playing with or taking them on a walk with the owner around their usual route in order to gauge their temperament and comfortability with me. I ask various questions about how the owner takes care of the dog, so I can best follow their lead. I ask about daily routine activities, food schedule, treat frequency, walking time, habits, likes, dislikes, etc. I prefer to follow the daily routine and activities that the dog is used to in order to keep them on track while their owner is away.
“Tracy is great! Our dogs loved her and she is reliable, kind and friendly! She sent us pictures and details of her visit with our girls. We will definitely use Tracy again and recommend her to anyone looking for a great caregiver!”

“I highly recommend Tara as a drop in pet care person. I have three dogs, she follows my instructions, and sends me many pictures. She is punctual. I am pleased to have cross paths with Tara.”

“Jennifer was patient and knew exactly how to behave when my dog got a little defensive and excited. She showed proper posturing, lowering her eyes and looking away, etc. This is proof of her experience around dogs and her strong foundational knowledge of how they think and behave! We will definitely choose her again!”
About: My family has had dogs and cats my entire life so I am experienced in taking care of both, I often watch the pets of friends and family. I am a grad student so my schedule is very flexible. I am able to check on cats in the morning and at night, helping with routine related activities (e.g. feeding, changing water, etc) I have a safe and secure home with minimal clutter, since I myself have a cat I make sure to keep dangerous things out of his reach and am conscious of reducing risk in all situations. For example, my cat does not have access to bags (to reduce risk of suffocation), or medicines, or sharp objects.

About: I’m a reliable and caring pet sitter with hands-on experience looking after a variety of animals, including dogs, cats, and small pets. I’m comfortable with feeding schedules, administering basic medications, walking, playtime, and providing plenty of attention to keep pets happy and stress-free while their owners are away. I understand that every pet has unique needs and personalities, so I take the time to follow instructions carefully and build trust with both pets and owners. My goal is to ensure your pet feels safe, comfortable, and well cared for at all times. Pet care fits naturally into my daily and weekly routine since I work remotely from home and have a flexible schedule. Being home throughout the day allows me to provide consistent attention, regular potty breaks, feeding, and companionship without long gaps in supervision. I’m able to easily adjust my work hours to accommodate walks, playtime, and any specific care needs, including medications or special routines. On a weekly basis, my flexibility also allows me to take on longer visits, overnight stays, or last-minute bookings, ensuring pets receive reliable and attentive care whenever needed. I prioritize following each pet’s routine and any specific instructions to ensure their well-being and reduce stress. I take time to build trust with pets through patience, gentle handling, and consistent care, helping them feel secure while their owners are away. I also maintain a clean, safe environment by monitoring surroundings, preventing potential hazards, and ensuring pets are always supervised appropriately. My goal is to create a calm, reliable space where pets feel at ease and owners can feel confident their animals are in good hands.
“Laura took amazing care of Chrissy during a last-minute drop-in request. We really appreciated her communication and all the pictures she sent. We will definitely connect with Laura again in the future!”

“Leigh did a wonderful job!! We appreciated her communication and how thorough she was with feeding and walking our dogs. We would definitely have Leigh again to take care of our fur babies!!”

“Katherine did an amazing job caring for my two cats Kylo and Ketchup. She went above and beyond to care for them. She took the time to cuddle with them on the couch during her drop ins. I received pictures daily and ketchup (who is always hiding from others) even came out to hang out with Katherine! ?”

“Ryan took great care of our 2 year old chocolate lab while we were out of town for the day. He arrived right on time for each drop in visit and provided photos and a little update after each drop in. We will absolutely be hiring Ryan again!”

About: I grew up with 2 dogs and now I have a 1 year old chocolate lab puppy who just graduated from training. I am very familiar with training strategies as I just went through them including potty training, leash training, etc. I would love to extend love and care to your babies as well! I am a Penn State student who is local to State College. I have a light schedule and even have a puppy of my own so I am taking care of pets all day everyday! I am currently taking a class remotely and am able to spend all day with your pet as I have a pet of my own that I am spending time with!
About: I’ve taken care of my dogs since I was 11! I’d take them for walks, give them baths, brush them and feed them! Since I’m an only child, animals have been the closest thing I’ve had to siblings lol. My mom and I have five animals, four cats and a dog, and I love them to pieces! As a result, I can proudly say I have a good amount of experience working with animals of many different shapes and sizes. I’m currently a part-time college student but all my classes are online. This means I can go anywhere at any time. I’d love to spend time with your animals as I do my homework. :) At home I usually like to make sure I’m always in the same room as our dog! I try my best to keep any dangerous food/ objects out of reach.

About: I grew up taking care of pets for neighbors and family, and have had many of my own. At home now, I have our dog Kona and a bearded dragon named Norbert, plus two kids. I'm comfortable with caring for all dogs and cats of all sizes and ages. I'd love to send you photos and updates if you would like so you know how things are going while you are away. I can't wait to meet your furry friend! I'm home most of the day, so your pet won't be left alone for long stretches. I absolutely love taking walks so we will be doing plenty of those. If your pet needs a specific feeding or potty schedule, just let me know and I'll stick to it. Our yard isn't fenced, so your dog will go out on leash for walks and potty breaks several times a day. My Dog is super friendly and always up for a new friend. If your pup prefers quiet time or needs a crate to decompress, I can absolutely make that happen as well. I will go over your dogs preferences when I get a chance to talk with you. I'm more than happy to make accommodations to fit your pets needs.
About: I've spent my life making furry and feathered friends! From doggos and horses to birds, hamsters, chickens, and even cats I've pet sat, I've loved every single one like family. I work full-time, but I'm available for pet care before and after work, as well as on weekends. I'm happy to help with walks, drop-in visits, and quality time when you need it most! I currently have one dog who is well loved and part of the family. When caring for pets in my client's home, I do my best to keep them on their normal routine-including feeding, walks, playtime, potty breaks, medication (if needed), and plenty of love and attention. I always respect each owner's instructions so their pets feel safe, comfortable, and happy while they're away. My goal is to treat every pet as if they were my own.

Dog parents share their Rover experiences - Lemont
We have booked Rochelle for drop-in visits for our two dogs many times and she always does fantastic!! She goes above and beyond and our dogs love her! She treats them great, and we love getting updates from her about how the dogs are doing. We will definitely continue to book with her!

Laura is the absolute best! I have a rescue dog who is very skeptical of new people, and after using Laura a second time, he has really warmed up to her and trusts her which is a HUGE accomplishment. He normally does not take a treat or play fetch with new people, and he did with her! In addition to her ability to understand my dogs needs and his behavior, I appreciate that she communicates and gives updates after each check-in. It makes me feel so comfortable when traveling and not stressed. Thanks again, Laura!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
While Rover doesn’t offer traditional subscription services, some sitters offer recurring bookings for services like home visits and dog walking.
