I've grown up around and helped raise dogs and cats my whole life, but my real experience with dogs and pet sitting began in 2015 during my undergraduate years, when I worked at an indoor dog daycare for three years caring for a wide range of breeds, ages, and temperaments for up to six hours a day. That role gave me a strong foundation in reading dog behavior, managing group dynamics, and ensuring every pup felt safe and comfortable. Alongside my daycare work, I built a steady base of 2–3 private clients throughout both my undergraduate and graduate careers, providing regular dog and cat sitting on a more personal, one-on-one basis. About: Growing up my family had a miniature schnauzer and we were lucky enough to have her in our lives for 18 years! I would walk her every day, administer tick and flea medicine, teach her tricks, make eating her food fun as she got older, took her to the groomer, and of course gave her lots of attention and playtime. I've also walked a handful of my friends' dogs before either just around the block or for a few miles depending on much exercise they need. I'm also familiar with drop in visits to feed dogs dinner or let them out to run around in the yard. Right now I work part time so I have some availability during the work week, as well as the weekends. I'd be happy to come walk your dog before work, let your dog out (and or walk them) around lunch time, feed your dog or cat breakfast, lunch or dinner, as well as just spending time playing with your pets and making sure they are getting the attention they need when you are away. When I am in your home I will be diligent to make sure I am providing your pet the care that you have asked for. About: As a child, my family had a Maltese since he was a puppy and he lived until the age of 15 years old. His life expectancy was around 7 years old, so he was a senior dog. I learned how to take care of my dog at a young age and was responsible for taking care of him. Now, my parents and I have a puppy named Shylo Esch. He is a mix of Bernese mountain dog and mini poodle. I have attended puppy class with him at Manners N' More in Bellefonte, PA. I also frequently walk my family friend's dog who is a Labrador retriever. I grew up around dogs and learning to and caring for them, I have a deep love for taking care of dogs. I work a part time job throughout the week. I usually have a few appointments scheduled each week and make plans with friends/family whenever we have time. When considering booking dog care, I make sure I have the availability for your pup(s) and communicate with you about it. My baby dog, Shylo Esch, has been spoiled by my parents with many toys and treats. He is treat motivated from his puppy training, leashed for outdoor walks and goes in his crate when nobody is home. I hold myself to a strong work ethic when caring for dogs by creating a disciplined yet empathetic stance when caring for fur babies or elderly dogs. In my clients home, I closely follow the rules and duties of the care they require to care for their dogs. I set up a meet n' greet with the dog and owner before committing. I like to meet the dog beforehand to see if we are a good fit by interacting, playing with or taking them on a walk with the owner around their usual route in order to gauge their temperament and comfortability with me. I ask various questions about how the owner takes care of the dog, so I can best follow their lead. I ask about daily routine activities, food schedule, treat frequency, walking time, habits, likes, dislikes, etc. I prefer to follow the daily routine and activities that the dog is used to in order to keep them on track while their owner is away.
