She introduced Mavis to her apartment, and her pet is around the same age, Sushi, and gave us some great tips on helping Mavis settle in. The Blink camera in the room where Mavis stayed was a nice touch, allowing Crystal to check in on her whenever she was out, which was reassuring. About: I’ve always had family animals that I’ve adored and that got my foot into working in rescue! I’ve work with extra small to extra large dogs, a lot of cats and some other species. I feel very comfortable with behavioral differences in different animals. I’ve worked along side very talented vets and techs that have taught me a lot about medical care, as well. I work part time at home with a dog and two cats. I take physical and mental enrichment very seriously for all animals. Any animal I’m caring for comes first everyday. A tired dog is a happy dog. I have friendly animals at home, a large crate if needed and a separate room set up for shy animals to warm up to the other animals. We have a large (not fenced) yard but we take many long walks a day to keep up with physical needs!

“As others here are saying, Ruth was *really* great--my somewhat shy, standoffish cat quickly and visibly warmed to her (she had a very gentle, low-key way of introducing herself to him). It was a relief to have her checking in on him. As to logistics: she was extremely quick and precise in answering messages, and very patient and flexible with the multiple times I had to tweak my booking request (because of unforeseen travel changes on my end). The kitchen was cleaner than when I left, and Ruth also went out of the way to bring trash and recycling containers off the street, something I hadn't asked her to do but appreciate. As to keeping this skeptical little cat company: she was very perceptive; I would genuinely trust her if there were an emergency of basically any kind. She put him at ease and got him to eat (something he sometimes is reluctant to do when stressed); she must have been a very reassuring presence. I also appreciate her detailed messages and several photos in which he's rolling on his back looking fairly pleased by things. When I got back this morning he seemed in much better spirits than he normally does after I have to travel. Thank you Ruth!”
About: Living with cats most of my life, I have a fondness for the many demeanors and personalities they each bring! Being chosen by a cat is the greatest gift of all, but I’m happy even if just being tolerated by yours until their favorite human comes back home! About: I have plenty of experience working with cats in my vet experience, but I’ve also fostered cats and housesat cats for both my brother and family friend. I’ve grown to appreciate their need for mutual respect. I understand the importance of a clean litter box, not just from the stink perspective!! Seeing so many patients that don’t utilize the litter box properly due to a poor location, poor upkeep, overcrowding, and more, has made me hyper aware of the due diligence needed to keep them comfortable. “We were a little apprehensive, never used Rover before, we were unfamiliar with Rillan, just had past reviews to help us choose. Happy to say, we were pleasantly surprised! Rillan is definitely a dog person. Our dog loves to play with other dogs, but dogs need to be monitored so they don’t get too crazy. She has a nice outdoor fenced play area and inside open space. Like a good kindergarten teacher, Rillan makes sure each dog plays nicely, separates those that need a time out and also gives individual attention. She sent pictures and stayed in touch, just for an afternoon of doggie day care! Our dog’s day ended with a nap and snuggles with Rillan and another dog hanging out on the sofa!! Although I am studying a good amount, I have a pretty light schedule Tuesdays and Thursdays and anytime after 2 pm Monday Wednesdays and Fridays. I find that caring for pets is a nice break from all of the studying and stress of school and am more than willing to taking a few hours out of my day to interact with dogs or cats. At Penn State, I live in a pet friendly apartment and right next to a neighborhood where I could take dogs for walks. Back at home, I have a fenced in yard, and we took my dog, Ruby to the beach, for walks, and to the park once or twice a day! Unfortunately my fur baby passed from cancer last year so I have missed being able to take her for walks. At the shelter I volunteer at, (Centre County Paws) I take 2-3 dogs for walks and make sure that the dogs all have their meals, water, and that their bowel movements are looking good and if not I will take note of that!

About: I’ve always had family animals that I’ve adored and that got my foot into working in rescue! I’ve work with extra small to extra large dogs, a lot of cats and some other species. I feel very comfortable with behavioral differences in different animals. I’ve worked along side very talented vets and techs that have taught me a lot about medical care, as well. I work part time at home with a dog and two cats. I take physical and mental enrichment very seriously for all animals. Any animal I’m caring for comes first everyday. A tired dog is a happy dog. I have friendly animals at home, a large crate if needed and a separate room set up for shy animals to warm up to the other animals. We have a large (not fenced) yard but we take many long walks a day to keep up with physical needs!

About: I will give your dog my full attention as well as my children. We all love animals. My children are super gentle and loving and love to take walks so finding time to take your dog for a walk will be no problem! I am home all day so your dog will get lots of attention! I am choosing to do this because the kids want a dog but I am not fully committed to buying one of our own quite yet, so dog sitting will please everyone. I have a huge yard with the option of fenced in and unfenced areas. We have very few neighbors so if your pup is a barker it will be not a problem. Lots of space to take dogs for walks without running into other people or animals.
About: I have cared for many different types of animals since I was a child. Dogs, cats, bunnies, rats and hamsters. Fostered and lived with many dogs. I currently have dogs and cats. They are the joy of my life especially since the kids (and grand dogs) have grown and moved. Couldn’t imagine life without them. I have two dogs and 2 cats to keep the fur guests company. Lots of play time in the fenced back yard. And snuggles on the couch.
