To err is human-to forgive, canine
Hi! My name is Katie! I am a student at Penn State and a lover of all creatures, large and small! I have had family dogs throughout my childhood. I have experience with puppies, senior dogs, breeds with longer coats, and both large and small breeds. I also have experience with handling rescues of various sizes with different triggers. I also have grown up with cats and have experience with all ages and sizes too! Additionally, I have experience with caring for pet rabbits. I have had several over the years. **I do not have experience with disabled or dogs with special needs, however I am willing to learn and accommodate whenever necessary!

I cannot provide boarding services at this time, so all my pet care services will be at or around your home. I can walk the dogs, play with them, make sure they are properly fed and watered, and take them outside regularly.
Notes et avis
Katie took amazing care of our cat while we were away on a business trip. She was extremely professional, reliable, and attentive throughout the entire time. She made sure he was fed on schedule, spent quality time playing with him, and gave him the care and attention he needed while we were gone.
When Katie was very little, she was always eager to help out with the care of the family dog. Walking, playing, feeding, and simply spending time together were all ways that Katie loved to interact. Her love of dogs has been a constant throughout her life, and even now she continues to help care for the dog she currently has at home whenever she visits. Being around animals has always been a source of comfort and joy for her; a genuinely therapeutic way she chooses to spend her free time. I currently live in Canada and, during the pandemic, Katie was with me and my husband for the duration. During that time, we adopted a rescue dog (who we named Kyoto) since we knew we would have dedicated time at home to care for him. We knew he came from an abusive and neglectful environment. He started off scared and reluctant to interact with any of us, and it took several days for him to feel safe enough to approach anyone on his own. Eventually, he got to know everyone in the house. Once he acquainted himself with Katie, he attached himself to her. If she left her bedroom door open, she’d find a very large furry friend curled up on her bed. He also loved when she would break out the brushes and combs and give him a much‑needed grooming session. It was especially sweet (and often comical) when she would mention “walkies,” as Kyoto would get so excited he could barely hold still long enough for her to put on his harness. Eventually, he’d calm down and Katie would get him all geared up for an outside adventure. This included winter walks where it was so cold she had to put snow boots on his feet before heading out. Winters in our part of Canada are brutally cold, and Katie always knew how to properly account for the weather conditions before taking Kyoto outside for any length of time. For days when my husband or I were not available to make sure Kyoto could have time outside for bathroom breaks or walks, we relied on Katie. It was never an imposition; each time we mentioned it, she was eager to help. Kyoto took to her right away, and the two of them were often together both inside and outside the house. Katie played a meaningful role in helping Kyoto adjust to a household filled with love, patience, and treats. While we always knew that Katie had a natural love for dogs, watching her grow has shown us how deeply that interest has matured. If there was ever anything we were unsure of (e.g., behavior, habits, symptoms), Katie would immediately start doing research and asking questions. Sometimes we were able to address minor issues based on what she learned from trusted pet‑care sources. Other times, her research pointed us toward speaking with a vet. Either way, including Katie in discussions about Kyoto’s needs was always valuable because she offered a perspective that was caring, supportive, thoughtful, and reasoned. Katie has consistently shown herself to be responsible, attentive, and genuinely invested in the wellbeing of the animals in her life. Trusting her with the care and happiness of any of our future dogs would come without question. We would absolutely support her care of our animals again.
