“Roxanne was wonderful with our old dog Ruby. She sent daily updates and lots of wonderful photos. Roxanne understood Ruby's needs and made her feel very safe and comfortable. We have already booked twice more.”

“Simon was incredible with my cats. I needed pet sitting on short notice and he was a life saver. He sent so many photos and videos and my cats loved him. I highly recommend Simon.”

“James and Jennifer were fabulous hosts to our Coco. This was the first time Coco was away for an overnight and different home so I am sure she was a little nervous and scared. They were so welcoming to us and Coco. Coco had a great stay and we can tell she was loved. We will definitely be using them again when we are in the area.”

“Monika and her pet family were wonderful with my two dogs. My dogs got along well with her pets and loved the large, fenced back yard. My older dog is deaf and has some GI issues requiring medication which Monika took care of for me. The pictures she sent on a daily basis showed how happy they were and cared for. They stayed for a week and loved every minute with her family.”

“My dog Willy had such a great time while I was away on vacation. He loved the backyard, pets, and cuddles. Jon would consistently keep me updated and send me photos of my buddy. Definitely will be going back!”

“Dylan and his family were great to work with! They were flexible with pick up/drop off times and communicated very well. They sent pictures of Buddy every day and I came home to a happy boy.”

“Joanna and Brian did an awesome job with my pup. I appreciated the updates along with pictures they sent me of my dog smokey while I was away. The next time I need a pet sitter I will not hesitate to call on them again.”

“Tracy is not just a dog sitter for us. She is a partner in training and socializing Ranger. He absolutely loves going there and Tracy takes excellent care of him. I get frequent check-ins with pics and videos. I NEVER worry. I highly recommend.”

“Kirsten was great to work with! She communicates daily and sends lots of pics, which we loved! Our dog was loved and cared for when we were away which gives us peace of mind. We already scheduled Kirsten and her family to watch our dog again!”

“Brenda & family were amazing with Aspen. Aspen felt right at home and happy. I received regular updates and knew she was well taken care of. Highly recommended.”
“Dropping off my pup with John & Teri felt like leaving him with family. They are incredibly kind, and geniunely care for and love your dog like their own. It helps that they speak doodle, too. The one caution is if you leave your dog there for too many days, they might end up not wanting to come back home. If you have a doodle and need a sitter, you’re doing your dog a disservice if you choose anyone else! 11/10 recommend.”

“This was my first Rover experience and I’m so glad we picked Dawn! We received daily updates with pictures, which is awesome when you’re leaving your fur baby with a stranger for the first time. Communication was great! Luna seemed to have a great time and even learned a few new tricks! We highly recommend Dawn for your small dog!”

“Katie walked Marvel several times a day. She was sensitive to the heat and walked him early in the morning. He got lots of attention. She provided him with a huge assortment of toys which he loved. The daily pictures and videos were great!”

“Ashley was amazing! Nina had a blast and the communication was incredible. My flight was delayed and she accommodated the last minute changes. If you want someone you can trust for your fur baby, definitely reach out to Ashley!”

“Sarah took great care of my dog. I got lots of photos of my dog having the time of her life. She kept me informed of how well my dog was doing and loved on my dog. Sarah took great attention to my dog’s special diet and her behavior problems which helped me sleep well.”

Pet parents share their Rover experiences - South Saint Paul
Angela did a great job with Yoda. The thunderstorms and fireworks made him a bit nervous, but Angela handled it well, and he did fine. She was very responsive, kept us updated with pictures, and was quite flexible and went out of her way to accommodate a change in our pickup plans. We would certainly have Yoda stay with her again.
Simon was able to cuddle and pet AJ the first night! The cat is very cautious and skittish but took to Simon. He carefully followed his feeding schedule and was very attentive to AJ's needs. Simon is a delight and if needed in the future, I'll request that he is the sitter.
Our little Prairie Dog had a great stay with Jon and Natalie! This was our first experience leaving her with non-family members and we could tell she was very comfortable with them. It really seems like they treated her as if she was their own - which is exactly what we were hoping for! Will definitely reach out to them again!

Jennifer was absolutely terrific! She cared for our mini-goldendoodle as we would have and beyond. We were sent updates and felt very at ease with leaving her for the first time. She even took our storm frightened dog into the basement for a cuddle and nap during a thunderstorm. Would definitely have Jennifer look after our dog again!

Hollie has been so welcoming, responsive, and understanding of our dog's needs. Our dog is sometimes anxious staying in new places, but she settled into Hollie's place very quickly. Hollie was reassuring and sent pictures throughout her short stay. We look forward to our dog staying with her again!

Leo had a great stay with Ashley and her family. We did a meet and greet and her dogs allowed Leo to be with them immediately. As best I can tell Leo loved his time there- he came home and was his ordinary self. Ashley had noticed him shaking at one point during his stay and then that it was raining- so Leo needed his med to calm down. It seemed like Leo was in a home were he was loved and accepted and comfortable. We are glad to have found Ashley.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in MN ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
