Your Dog’s Maplewood Farm Stay

Hi, I live and work on a peaceful 5-acre property in south Maplewood near the Battle Creek area with my two fur babies, Nessel and Luna. My home and barn offer a calmer, more spacious alternative to a traditional kennel or busy boarding facility -- a good fit for dogs who do best with space, routine, patience, and thoughtful care. . I don’t just keep your dog safe -- I play with them, pay attention to them, and try to understand what helps them feel comfortable. Every dog has their own personality and temperament, so I do not treat every dog the same. Some need play and exercise, some need structure, some need affection, and some simply need a quiet place to settle and feel safe. . I know many dog parents need peace of mind when leaving their pup with someone new. I provide regular attention, thoughtful care, safe separation when needed, and a calm home environment where dogs are treated with patience and respect. Longer stays are preferred when possible, because dogs often settle in better once they have time to learn the routine, get comfortable with the space, and build trust. . A typical day includes exercise in the fenced play area, outdoor time, and slower sniff walks around the property so dogs can explore, decompress, and settle. For dogs who are shy, cautious, or slow to warm up, I take introductions slowly and pay close attention to body language, comfort level, and safety. . The 60 ft x 100 ft fenced play area is great for off-leash play, fetch, tug, and exercise. I’ve also added a spring pole for dogs with high energy or a strong tug drive, plus a water-play area with installed sprinklers, a kiddie pool, and a hose -- great for cooling off on hot days. I also have dog trolley/zipline setups on the property, which allow dogs to semi-roam, sniff, and enjoy more freedom while still staying safely connected. . The property is also a designated Sniffspot “Top Spot,” so it is set up with dogs in mind. Many dogs visit here to play, sniff, explore, and decompress, creating excellent scent trails for your pup’s nose. With wooded trails, open fields, wildlife scents, and peaceful space to roam, it feels like a hidden oasis in the Twin Cities. Built in 1896, we have what I believe is the only standing barn in Maplewood that remains in its original form and good condition. (It's my office and workshop!) . 🐾 Valeng and paw friends 🐾

Valeng was very communicative throughout Chief’s stay. His property is perfect for active dogs. Chief was pooped after a weekend with Valeng, he laid in the back of my Jeep the whole way home, as soon as we got home he plopped down in front of his bed and didn’t move for hours! Definitely will be returning!

Hey y'all, this guy right here is absolutely one of the best dog sitters on Rover. What I handed him was a 9-month-old puppy of a friend, who didn't have any proper training, wasn't responding to his name, wasn't potty trained at all, and had serious separation anxieties. I was so worried that Robby was gonna cause Valeng and his family too much trouble. And a month later, I got back a puppy that knows his name, is potty trained, with way more balanced energy. The puppy is both physically and mentally healthier in Valeng's care. If you book Valeng for your beloved puppers, expect a house full of nice people generous with their love, a nice and spacious yard, and dog park visits. I simply could not think of what anyone could do to be a better sitter. I'm truly grateful of Valeng's work. Be aware though, his family might become too attached to your puppy that you will have to build a long-term relationship with them! XD

It was Drizzy’s first time boarding with Rover and it went wonderfully! Valeng kept me updated and was genuinely airing towards Drizzy. We will be rebooking!

Valeng was great! Barker had a great time, and slept from when I got home until I woke up for work the next day. He had a blast playing with his dogs and did not want to leave. I would definitely recommend Valeng to anyone looking for a dog sitter and am so happy I found him. Will definitely be using him again in the future when I need a sitter.

Schedule

I work full time on the property where the dogs stay, so I’m present and involved throughout the day. Being on site allows me to give dogs regular attention, supervise outdoor time and play, and handle introductions carefully. Overnight boarding fits naturally into the routine here, so dogs receive consistent care, structure, and supervision during their stay.

Safety, trust & environment

I focus on safety through structure, supervision, and slow introductions. New dogs are given time to settle in first, with separate spaces available when needed before meeting my dogs or other guests. I pay close attention to body language, comfort level, and temperament so each dog is cared for in a way that fits them, not forced into a one-size-fits-all routine.

Pets

A typical day

A typical day includes outdoor time, play, rest, and plenty of chances to sniff and explore. Depending on each dog’s personality and energy level, we may spend time in the fenced play area, go for slower walks around the property, play fetch or tug, use the spring pole, cool off with the sprinklers/kiddie pool on hot days, or simply relax nearby. I keep the routine flexible so dogs can get exercise, attention, and quiet breaks as needed. When it’s nice outside, I like to end the evening by bringing the dogs into the fenced area to relax and watch the sunset. It helps them wind down before dinner and sleep.

One of my dogs can be nervous around large dogs, so I’m only able to accept bigger dogs that are well-socialized and non-aggressive. Thanks for understanding. It’s important to me that the environment here stays calm and safe for everyone.
