“Michaela and her partner are amazing!!! Their dog Gus is extremely friendly and adorable. My dog had the best time there and was taken care of like she was their own (both for doggy day care and weekend boarding). She took her to the dog park multiple times, many walks, always providing updates and sending pictures. Super friendly, responsive, and responsible. Couldn’t recommend more.”

“We had a wonderful experience leaving our dog Willow with Alma! She was very communicative before and during the booking which always makes the Rover process feel easier and more reassuring. Alma’s dog, Birdy, is super sweet as well. Willow seemed comfortable right away and according to Alma settled in more as the day went on. Great yard, deck for doggie lounging and overall set up from the house (super easy to see the yard from most parts of the downstairs). We will definitely book again. Highly recommend!”

“Emily and Kieran took a very good care of our dog! They were very accomodating even on the last minute notice, and were very flexible on the timing, which we really appreciate :) They took Ohsam out for a walk several times, gave lots of loves and cuddles. I can see Ohsam had a great time with the family! Would recommend them during our next visit in Portland. Thank you!!”

“Lindsay was great! She gave us tips on where to find vegan food, where we could park our RV as we were going on a whale watching tour. She took Maddie for walks and sent us pictures. Maddie was very comfortable with Lindsay. Lindsay was always quick to answer when we had questions. We highly recommend her.”

“Joshua is great. He and his wife were able to accommodate my 9 week old puppy last minute to watch him in their home during the week. They sent pictures and kept me updated! Will for sure use him again and will recommend for anyone needing someone to watch their pup.”

About: I've taken care of dogs and cats of every kind for over 15 years. Neighbors, friends, and family have relied on me to check in with, feed, and play with their pets while they're away — and I've also hosted dogs in my own home for extended stays. I've cared for dogs with special dietary needs, including meal prepping and cooking homemade meals. I grew up with dogs, cats, and horses, so I have a deep understanding of animal behavior, routines, and what makes them feel safe and happy. I currently own a pet pig, so I'm very familiar with the unique needs of different animals. Whether your pet needs extra attention, a specific feeding schedule, or just lots of love and play, I'm your person. I'm a full-time online student with a very flexible schedule, so I'm home most of the day and available to give your pet plenty of attention. I'm available for boarding, drop-in visits, and walks throughout the week, including weekends. I can easily work around your pet's routine and accommodate last-minute requests. I live in a cozy home in Portland's West End at the end of a quiet, private dead-end road with a semi-fenced grassy yard. On nice days, I spend a lot of time outside with my pet pig, Notta, who is gentle and loves dogs and cats — she has many furry friends already! There's also a leash hookup with range of the whole yard for added safety. Your pet will get plenty of one-on-one attention and supervised care. I'm happy to follow any specific routines, dietary needs, or medication schedules your pet requires, and I'll send regular photo and video updates so you always know your pet is happy and well cared for.
About: I bring a high level of experience caring for dogs with different personalities, energy levels, and routines. I’m comfortable handling everything from structured walks and feeding schedules to medications and special care needs. My goal is always the same: dependable care, clear communication, and a happy, well-cared-for dog. Working from home allows me to offer flexible scheduling and near constant supervision, ensuring that your dog receives attentive, reliable care and plenty of interaction. I prioritize safety, consistency, and a calm environment in every aspect of care. I closely follow each dog’s routine, including feeding instructions, walk preferences, and any special needs. My home is clean, dog safe, and supervised throughout the day, and when caring for pets in a client’s home, I respect their space and maintain the same level of attentiveness. I always use secure leashes, monitor interactions carefully, and communicate regularly with updates for peace of mind.

I’m patient, dependable, and treat every dog like my own. I’m currently working part-time from home and getting my master’s degree, so I have plenty of time to play with your pups! I’m available for boarding on weekends and weekdays. I love including walks, playtime, and snuggles as part of my daily routine, it’s the best part of my day! I have a small yard and live near a park as well as access to many trails. I make sure all pets are safe, supervised, and comfortable at all times. I can crate your dog if needed and will always follow your specific feeding, walking, or medication instructions to ensure your pet feels right at home.
“A very safe wonderful place for my pup for the day. Easy access to their place and an adorable clean neighborhood. Lots of pics and walks. Ideal situation for us. Rachael was wonderful.”

“Absolutely wonderful pet sitter. Marna was calm and patient with our little chihuahua, Miika. Miika was happy and relaxed when she was picked up. I highly recommend Marna and will definitely be using her services again.”

“Savannah was fantastic in taking in our pup for a last minute daycare stay. She was responsive, caring, flexible and so great with our girl Phoebe! Our pup is needy, anxious and a bit quirky but Savannah was great with her. Would absolutely use her again!”

I live off of Forest Ave in the Oakdale section of Portland.. I presently cannot board in my apartment. I am new to Portland and looking forward to meeting some pups and kitties I do have a full-time job as a Chaplain here but have plenty of time to work around my schedule! I treat your pets and all of the dogs and cats I look after as if they are my own, as if I am in my own home even though I'm on their turf
About: Dogs have been part of my life for as long as I can remember—I grew up with them and had the joy of raising my son alongside our beloved family dogs. After recently relocating to Maine, I'm not quite ready to commit to a dog of my own just yet, but I deeply miss that daily companionship and connection. That's what brought me to Rover—I'd love to share my lifetime of experience with your furry family member while giving them the care, attention, and love they deserve. With decades of hands-on experience, I understand dogs at every life stage, from the energy and curiosity of puppies to the gentle needs of senior dogs. I know how to create routines that help dogs feel secure, recognize their unique personalities, and provide the patience and consistency that builds trust. Whether your pup needs an energetic playmate, a calm companion, or someone who understands their specific care requirements, I'm here to make sure they feel safe, happy, and loved while you're away. I have a flexible work schedule and will only commit when I am fully available to be 100 percent engaged with your pup. I have the time and freedom to dedicate my full attention to the pets in my care. Whether it's daily walks, playtime, feeding schedules, or just companionship, I can provide consistent, attentive care throughout the day. Your dog deserves someone who's truly present and focused on their needs—and that's exactly what I offer. Dogs have full run of the house and are treated like part of the family. We have a fenced yard where they can play safely and explore. I maintain their regular routines—feeding times, walks, play sessions, and rest periods—to help them feel secure and comfortable. Whether they're cuddlers who want to be by my side or independent explorers who need their space, I adapt to each dog's personality and preferences.
About: I'm dedicated to your dog's well-being and offer genuine love, playful engagement, and a safe home and environment to ensure a stress-free experience. I have been a dog owner my entire life and I know how to read the body language of dogs. I nurture trust so that your dog is as happy here as s/he is in your home. We have two rescue dogs here in the home, Phoebe and Canela. Phoebe has been with us since she was a tiny chiweenie puppy six years ago, and Canela is a two year old sweetheart that was starving/living on the streets in Oaxaca, Mexico. Little did I know when I fell in love with her that the only way to get her home was to have her driven here in February! I am a writer and have a small gardening & vintage business which allows me to be at home close to full-time. Because I have a fenced in yard, I leave the door to my back porch open and our dogs go in and out of the home as they wish. I am here to monitor them, of course! I have a big fenced yard and two dogs that love to play and go for walks on the Greenbelt which is across the street. When they are inside, they sleep like queens on the couch or bed. Their favorite activity when they are not playing is to stare out the front window from the bed and bark at all the dogs that dare walk by our home.
“I found James as a last minute dog-sitter when my original one cancelled on me. Ellie seems like she had a good time with all the play and attention that she could get. I would definitely recommend James to anyone looking for someone look after their fur babies 😄”

Emily and Kieran took a very good care of our dog! They were very accomodating even on the last minute notice, and were very flexible on the timing, which we really appreciate :) They took Ohsam out for a walk several times, gave lots of loves and cuddles. I can see Ohsam had a great time with the family! Would recommend them during our next visit in Portland. Thank you!!

Lindsay is wonderful! She picks up Garbanzo twice a week for daycare, and he adores her (and her dog, Gimli). He always comes home happy and tired, and it’s clear he has the best time at her place. Lindsay is incredibly reliable, communicative, and trustworthy—I never have to worry when Bonzo’s with her. He loves her so much that if he catches a whiff of Lindsay or her fiancé, Mark, near our apartment, he loses his mind trying to find them! Couldn’t recommend her more highly.

I highly recommend Rachael!! She is so caring and attentive to Bailey! I am so happy I found Rachel to take care of him! Just being there for 2 days he is already comfortable which makes me feel at ease when I am at work ❤️ Thanks Rachel and will see you Tuesday!! 😁

Gwen was exceptional. I appreciate her being so patient and caring with Quincy. This was the first time Quincy stayed at a sitter's home and the new experience caused her a bit of anxiety and confusion. I was also a little nervous. Gwen insisted I shouldn't worry and kept me apprised of how Quincy was doing throughout the evening. When I returned for Quincy she was out for a walk with Gwen and things had worked out fine. Thank you, Gwen!
