I grew up dogs from the time I was little- labs, retrievers, shepherds- and had a special needs rescue dog with my partner for many years who lived to be fifteen. When she passed, my partner and I started boarding and house sitting regularly and have built up a pretty cute little pack. I am comfortable giving oral medication and upholding your dog’s schedule, house rules, and love to take field trips whenever possible. My favorite is when a dog can come with me everywhere, so smaller senior pups have become my specialty, but I can’t help but love all the dogs who come along.

Matt has been an excellent caretaker to my senior dog with daily medical and physical. I’ve been able to leave specific notes and Matt has ensured that they are met and has built great trust with my pets and home. It’s a special treat for any pooch to get to spend time with Matt. He is the most gentle pet sitter I’ve ever had.
Our two pups love all of the time they spend with Matt! Matt has looked after both of our senior dogs (and our house) multiple times and every single time has been excellent! He’s super understanding of all of their silly needs (even our oldest who now needs help getting up and down stairs), and he’s always super quick to respond and sends amazing updates while we’re gone. We can always count on Matt to ensure our fur babies are well cared for whenever we go out of town.
As a longtime dog care professional, I say with complete confidence that Matt is the person who I would trust with my pets, my clients, and my family. He is thoughtful, empathetic, and takes pride in fulfilling his responsibilities to the letter. With a precise attention to detail and deep attunement to the emotional state of those in his care, Matt is the guy who will hand feed an anxious dog and can soothe even the shyest cats. I have relied on him many times when I am unable to care for a pet and he always rises to the occasion. Matthew is the sweetest dog parent I know! Matthew treats my dogs like they're his own, and they always come back so happy, exhausted from play, and calm calm calm. I can be sure of Matt's safety and concern for my animals, and I always get the SWEETEST photos and videos of my dogs playing with him, his partner, or other dogs at the dog park. I feel like I can always trust Matthew, and I recommend him to everyone in town!
Matt took care of my 11 year-old Cavi several times for long periods of time. She had medical issues, including lots of pills and was a complex dog to take care of. Matt was caring, gentle, loving, and very supportive. He truly loves dogs. When my dog was dying, Matt and his partner gave her and me a cheese party! I will never forget this and will always be grateful to Matt. Highly recommended.

Schedule
As a videographer and Maine youth basketball coach I have a lot of flexibility in my work schedule and spend a lot of time working from home editing videos. I’m fairly active, always happy to take breaks from work to walk around the neighborhood or find a pet-friendly beach to run around on.

Safety, trust & environment
I’m in an apartment very close to Deering Oaks Park and the Western Prom. The apartment is a compact second story walk up and has been carefully maintained to keep it safe for curious noses.
A typical day
I love a beach trip, sniff stroll, or other activities that let me be present for the dogs in my care. It’s always great to cuddle up, so I hope you let me know ahead of time if they’re not allowed on the furniture before I invite them onto the bed for naptime.
