“This is our second booking with Cathy and it was just as good as the first time. She follows directions is not afraid to ask questions, and leave the house clean. We will continue to book her as long as she is available!”

About: I’m an experienced kitten foster parent with a lifelong love for animals. I’ve trained my own cats to walk on leashes and master basic tricks, and I bring that same patience and care to every pet I meet. I'm a huge dog lover too—and I will definitely ask to pet your dog! I also like all types of animals. I currently have pet fish, but love snakes, guinea pigs, the whole zoo! I work remotely so I can hang around your pet as needed! I can come morning, lunch time or evening to check on your pet. I have reliable transportation and flexible schedule I have experienced coaxing pets with food as needed. I have a good ability to gain pets’ trusts and speak with a calm relaxing voice. I have that vibe animals really love.
About: I’ve been taking care of smaller dogs since I was 9, I’ve been around smaller dogs such as yorkies and pomeranians, recently I’ve watched/cared for Maltipoos and Mini Schnauzers under a Puppy Yoga Studio. Additionally I’d also like to mention the last few years I got to experience dog sitting for a bigger breed, an American Bully XL to be specific! I’m a full-time grad student in DC, but I reside in Maryland. I do commute to my classes in DC, my classes take place in the evening on Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday from 6pm - 10pm. I care for dogs based upon the instructions of the owner and of course with my own discernment and understanding of particular breeds and the behaviors that come with the breed. Nonetheless, love, play, and care will always be shown :)
“I was away for a few weeks and she made sure to keep me updated with check ins. It was my first time using the app and she pretty much helped me navigate it as well. Definitely very helpful and took some stress off of my family. Will definitely be using her in the future.”

“Tiera watched my dog Duke for several days and she did an amazing job, she is extremely dependable. She took pictures of my dog. Sent them to me and most importantly she fell all the instructions to a T. I will definitely be using her again and I definitely recommend her for anyone needing a dog sitter.”

About: I’m a college student and I’ve been taken care of pets ever since I stayed with my aunt. I learned so many new things of taking care of pets especially dogs. Pet care helps me better whenever I decided to get a pet, I can do better learn how to take care and maintain any pets I can play with your dog with toys you bring, I personally don’t like dogs when in crate bc I believe that they like running around and having fun. I would have take your pet to stroll around and have some fresh air
“Astrid is professional and awesome. She provides prompt communication and great pictures, which is very much appreciated. Our pets require medications and Astrid does a wonderful job. We are so grateful to be able to rely on her and she’s saved us during last minute unexpected travel. We come home to very happy pets. We will continue to use Astrid. Would definitely recommend. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️”

“Stefany was great with our pets. They all came out to visit her, which doesn't happen to all care providers. She was friendly and professional to us and very loving to the kitties.”

“Connie has been so great! She comes four times a week to take my dog out and give my cat some attention. She always sends the best pictures and funniest note card replies. I definitely recommend Connie she’s great with my pets, quick at responding, open to last minute requests and more importantly, great care giver for the pets”

About: I've been a go-to pet sitter since I was 12, starting with dog walking as my first real job. Friends and family trust me so much they have referred me to others, and now I've got fur nieces and nephews all over the country. Whether it’s puppies or senior pets, I make sure they feel loved on and happy. Working from home gives me plenty of flexibility to fit pet care into my routine. I currently have a cat and share pet duties with my roommate, so I'm used to balancing responsibilities. Plus, I miss being more active, and pet care is a perfect way to stay active and enjoy time with furry friends. It’s a win-win for all of us! I like to learn the pets regular home routine & abide by the rules of the house. From there, it’s important for me to make the transition feel seamless. I give them a lot of love & reassurance especially if I sense their feeling anxious or confused. I also love to incorpore long walks and more active play time to help them expend some energy and hopefully soothe any anxiety. I would determine the right type of activities based on their temperament & guidance from their owner.
“Anny is incredibly nice and she did an amazing job taking care of my dog! She sent me photos and updates so I always knew what was going on and went above and beyond, playing with, petting, and brushing my dog not just popping in to dump food in a bowl/rushing the dog outside and leaving.”

“Erin was the absolute best! This was my first time requesting a service at my home and I was truly nervous about trusting someone. I was immediately put at ease during my introduction meeting with Erin and had complete trust she would take the best care of Rocky. She sent pictures of him and what they did on the visit. I was able to see how happy he was and well taken care of while I was out of town.”

“Brandon was amazing! Super professional and easy to work with. We were leaving our cats for the longest we’ve been away from them before, but Brandon made us feel confident they were in good hands. He was also kind enough to water several plants and pick up our mail. We especially appreciated his availability over the holidays. He was great!”

About: I’ve always had a genuine love for animals, starting with my childhood dogs, Bambi and Canelo. I also grew up caring for a parrot, a cockatiel, fish, and a hamster, which gave me experience with different types of pets from an early age. I currently have a dog named Zara, who has brought even more joy and experience into my life. These experiences have taught me how to care for animals with different personalities, needs, and routines. I’m comfortable with walks, playtime, feeding, giving plenty of attention, and making sure pets feel safe and comfortable while their parents are away. I understand that every pet is different, so I’m happy to follow their usual routine and any special instructions you provide. My goal is for your pet to feel loved, comfortable, and well cared for while you’re away. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to dedicate time and attention to the pets in my care. I’m able to work around feeding times, walks, playtime, and other routines your pet is used to. I’m happy to discuss your pet’s specific schedule ahead of time so I can make their time with me as comfortable and consistent as possible. Your pet’s safety and comfort are my top priorities. I’ll carefully follow any instructions you provide regarding feeding, walks, medications, routines, or anything else your pet may need. I’m mindful of doors, gates, leashes, and their surroundings to help keep them safe. I’ll also keep you updated during their care with messages and photos, so you can have peace of mind knowing how they’re doing. Most importantly, I’ll treat your home and your pet with the same respect and care I would want for my own.

Frequently asked questions about Rover

You and your sitter can agree on a care schedule that fits your pet’s routine and the sitter’s availability. Pet Sitting can be booked as a one-time or recurring drop-in visit. If you need overnight care or dog walks, you may also be able to book House Sitting or Dog Walking through Rover with the same sitter, provided they offer those services.
Before booking, confirm:
- the timing, length, and frequency of visits;
- the care instructions the sitter should follow;
- which parts of your pet’s usual routine should be prioritized;
- how often you would like to receive messages, photos, or other updates.
Not every sitter offers the same services, availability, or booking options. Review their profile and discuss the care you need through Rover before booking each service.
If you would like updates while you’re away, you can discuss with your sitter how many or how frequent you’d like those updates to be. The Rover app allows sitters to send photos, videos, and messages about your pet, including how many pee or poop breaks occurred. You can message your sitter at any time through the app and our support team is available 24/7 by email or chat if you have concerns.
The personalized, in-home nature of pet care through Rover can mean more individual attention for your pet.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to 25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit .

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a casual meeting to vet potential sitters and communicate care needs for peace of mind before a booking begins. Only sitters who have never booked with you before can schedule a Meet & Greet on Rover; however, you are welcome to coordinate one in Rover messages with sitters you have previously booked. This can be helpful if you have a new pet or routine you want to go over with your sitter.
Meet & Greets can take place in person or virtually. If you are booking with a sitter for the first time, we recommend in-person Meet & Greets to get a clearer sense of how your sitter interacts with your pet or the new environment.
During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone.
