“Kristy watched our two kitties for 2.5 weeks while my husband and I celebrated our wedding and honeymoon. As always, Kristy was absolutely wonderful. Her communication about her visits were outstanding and she even went above and beyond and took care of our plants, retrieved our mail, and even vacuumed and took out the trash. We trust Kristy 100% and the love our cats have for her shows how exceptional she is as a sitter.”

“Another great job by Alexandra!!! This is our 3rd or 4th booking and we will definitely book again! She takes great care of our senior kitty. She gives her pills like a pro (because she is a pro!). Book Alexandra with confidence!”

“Xianting was very patient and professional and monitor the conditions of my cat closely. It was our first time using rover and we immediately love Xianting and would love to come back to her again. Highly recommended!”

About: I’m the go-to dog sitter for my friends and family. I’ve watched pitbulls, rotties, small dogs, you name it. I had rescue pit mix for 3 years. She was older and I was glad to spend the time I could with her. I learned a lot about separation anxiety, leash reactivity and the impact of positive reinforcement. I work from home and am flexible. Just message me and I’ll respond asap to confirm or reschedule. I don’t have a set time I can provide at this time. I have a cat at home. She’s a bit fearful of larger and high energy dogs. I won’t do dog sitting in my home until I’ve accessed the dog with previos visits. I can drop by and stay for a few hours if you prefer or just drop by for the food/ bio break. Dog walks will always be 1-1. Unless they’re siblings. On leash with plenty of treats and water.
“Liz took great care of my cat and made sure he did not bother the fish haha. He even sat on Liz’s lap, which he does with very few people. I came home to a happy kitty after my trip”

“Rylinn is enthusiastic, knowledgable, and a clear communicator. I appreciate her prompt arrival and positive attitude during our initial meet-up on very short notice. Thanks! Looking forward to booking you again in the future :)”

“Mariah was amazing! She got along great with my pup and was super reliable. My cats even liked her! She sent great pics and we were so relaxed on Vacation knowing our boys were well cared for.”

“My dog Rover is skittish and afraid to be pet on his head. Israel found a way to not only get him out for his walk but Rover also sat on his lap!! I am so grateful for someone who wanted to work to gain Rover's trust. I am grateful.”
About: My husband and I have been taking care of dogs and cats since we were in high school. Our family and friends relied on us to sit their babies while they are out of town. No dogs larger than 80 lbs. We work from home, so we can ensure your pets have constant company. We are attentive to their needs and can address them promptly whenever necessary. A community park is only 5 minute walk away and our home provides plenty of space for your babies to explore. We currently do not have any pet and children at home. We’d love to learn about your pet’s routine at home so we can keep things as consistent as possible and help them feel comfortable in a new environment.
“I booked Kyah for drop-in visits during last week on my cat Mimi. My regular and truated Rover pet sitter was out of town. Kyah and I agreed on a first get to know meeting before confirming the booking request. After the meeting it was clear that Kyah had our trust. During my absence Kyah always updated me. After this experience I can highly recommend Kyah”

About: I have taken care of dogs, cats, fish, bearded dragons, sugar bears, geckos, and lizards. I love all animals and will always give them the utmost care and love. I have a 3 year old German shepherd and Labrador mix named Dodge. I am available most mornings, afternoons, evenings, and overnights durung the week. I look forward to taking care of your pets and will enjoy every minute of it as I aim to continue doing something I love. Taking care of your pets will fit in perfectly with taking care of my dog. We will go on walks, cuddle, and play fetch all day long. I make sure to meet dogs before booking service to make sure your dog knows me. I have never had a problem with getting along with dogs, but my dog has sometimes not been cordial to new friends. I will respect your safety and privacy and only stay in areas you allow me to stay in your home.
“What a great first time experience on Rover with Astrid! She was friendly, communicative and thoughtful; her love for animals really showed. Thank you for taking care of our Mellow!”

“Christine has been a godsend for taking care of my three fur babies. They absolutely adore her and it allows me to go away comfortably knowing that they’ll be happy and taken care of!”

“Stefany was great with our pets. They all came out to visit her, which doesn't happen to all care providers. She was friendly and professional to us and very loving to the kitties.”

This was Majdoline’s first time to look after our two 17-year old cats, and she did a wonderful job!! She not only followed our instructions precisely but also went above and beyond. We are very pleased that she took great care of our senior kitties, and highly recommend her!!

I'm very happy with the care Kristy gave my cats. She went above and beyond, and I really appreciated how communicative she was and how she provided pictures and a thorough report after each drop-in visit. I would highly recommend her to others and plan to utilize her services in the future.

Cat sitters on Rover care for your cats’ needs and can spend quality time with them, including activities like feeding, playing, and refreshing their water and litter boxes. Depending on your arrangement, you can schedule as many visits per day as your cat needs or find a sitter who can stay at your house overnight. Some sitters also board cats in their home.
House sitting can be ideal for cats who need socialization or care that lasts longer than a few hours. Your cat stays in their own home, on their own schedule, with care based on what you and your sitter agree on together.
Many pet parents provide a spare key or arrange a lockbox. You can also exchange keys during the Meet & Greet and show your walker how to use digital fobs or personalized codes. It helps to arrange access to your home, from spare keys to concierge introductions, before pet care begins.
If you live in an apartment or condo, don’t forget to discuss details like buzzer access, codes, or elevator etiquette. These details can help a pet sitter feel more comfortable going in and out of your building.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your cat, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience administering medication or managing dietary requirements. You can also find pet sitters who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and request a Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
