About: I don’t know life without furry friends! I was born into a family with two cats and a dog. Growing up, I took care of my own hamsters, fish, and hermit crabs. Since I was 12, I have taken care of my community members’ dogs of all sizes, cats of all temperaments, and small critters. The last 11 years, I’ve been primarily busy with grad school and taking care of my own 3 cats but recently my eldest crossed the rainbow bridge and I now work fully remotely, so have extra love and time to pour into your animals! I have experience with all ages and sizes of dogs. I can also administer medication. I work fully remotely, so have more flexibility to check in on your pets and walk your dogs! My weekends are generally free and I plan to be available over Thanksgiving and New Years. If I were to stay in your home to care for your dog, I would treat your home with the utmost respect and be able to keep the dog to his/her usual routine. I am comfortable with having your pup in my car if they like rides, need to go to the vet, or driven to a park. The same applies for kitty cats!

I currently work as a veterinary technician, so I’m very comfortable with pets of all ages, personalities, and medical needs. I have experience administering medications, caring for senior pets, working with puppies, and recognizing when something just doesn’t seem right. Before working in veterinary medicine, I also did dog sitting and dog walking throughout college, so pet care has been a part of my life for a long time. I genuinely enjoy spending my time with animals, so giving them the attention, exercise, affection, and care they need is something I look forward to rather than something I have to squeeze into my day. Your pet’s safety and comfort are always my top priorities. I live in my own three-bedroom home with a finished basement, so there is plenty of space to give pets their own area, quiet time, or separation when needed. I have two dogs of my own: a smaller senior dog who generally prefers to keep to himself, and a 6-month-old puppy who is crate trained. I’m able to manage introductions carefully and keep dogs separated when appropriate so everyone can stay comfortable and safe. Because I work in veterinary medicine, I’m very mindful of behavior, stress signals, health changes, and safe handling. I always supervise interactions closely, follow each pet’s normal routine as much as possible, and make sure they have a secure, calm environment while they’re in my care.

I understand that a 90-pound dog who is excited to see you is a very different experience from walking a 15-pound dog! Most importantly, I treat each pet as an individual. I want to know their routine, quirks, favorite things and what makes them comfortable so I can care for them the way you would. My schedule is flexible, which allows me to accommodate weekday walks and drop-in visits throughout the day, including the popular midday hours. I’m also available for morning and evening visits and can often accommodate weekends with advance notice. I’m happy to work with recurring weekly schedules as well as occasional care when you’re traveling or have a long day away from home. I care for pets in their own home with the same attention and respect I would expect for my own. I carefully follow each pet’s feeding, walking and medication instructions, keep doors and gates secure, and make sure pets are safely settled before I leave. I respect your home and privacy, clean up after pets, and provide updates so you know how they’re doing while in my care.
