“I had an amazing experience with my dog and pig sitter, Eliza, who stayed at my home for over a week. She took exceptional care of both my dog and pig, and I came home to animals that were clearly happy, relaxed, and well-loved. Eliza made sure both animals received their medicine (rolling with the punches because Buddy got an infection right before we left so it was an added responsibility she took on in stride) Eliza was incredibly thoughtful and sent regular photo updates, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear from the pictures and her communication that my pets were getting real attention, not just basic care. She was also very communicative and responsive whenever I had questions, which made everything feel easy and stress-free. My dog Buddy clearly bonded with her during the stay, he actually seemed a little sad when Eliza left, buddy went to the room she stayed in when we got home from our trip 😂 before sleeping where he usually. Highly recommend I would trust Eliza again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive pet sitter.”

“Salina was fantastic with housesitting our two corgis in our home while we were out of state for a family trip for 8 days. She was prompt, detail-oriented, trustworthy, and loving with my two high energy dogs. Salina tidied and looked after our house as well, and it was spotless when we returned. One of our dogs ended up injuring her paw, which Salina told me about right away, and she was also able to take my dog to their vet and ensure that her medications were given correctly. When the dogs destroyed their two toys, which is totally what they do, Salina ordered two more with her own money, which was so sweet and totally unnecessary! She truly cared for our pets and our home like her own, always communicating promptly and clearly multiple times a day, for total peace of mind for us. We plan on hiring her again for any future needs, she was absolutely wonderful!”

“Becki is a great sitter with experience, professionalism and compassion for pets in her care. We felt so comfortable knowing she would care for our pup and do exactly what was needed. I think they had a great time too!”

“Tricia was fantastic! She stayed at our home for over a week, caring (really caring!) for our two pets Hopper (dog) and Cicero (cat). She was generous in her communication (lots of pictures), concern, and professionalism. I can't thank her enough for making me feel calm and relaxed while on vacation. We would definitely ask for Tricia again!”

“Erin was a Godsend for us. We needed a pet sitter for our dog Millie at the last moment and she saved the day. Erin is a very friendly and warm person who loves animals and Millie got along with her immediately. Would definitely use her again.”

“Brenda and her family were wonderful! Melon had a BALL at their house and was so well cared for. Brenda has been so kind, communicative, and considerate! We are lucky to have found Brenda and Melon is already booked to go back there again! ❤️”

“Linh is fantastic! She house sat for our two pups while we were on vacation for a week. I'm usually nervous about leaving our pups with a new sitter, especially after we had a bad experience with one (not thru Rover) a few years back. But Linh's knowledge and calm, confident demeanor instilled confidence in me so I was able to relax and enjoy our vacation. She sent updates and frequent photos throughout the week. Not only did she leave our house the way we left it, but she washed all of the sheets and towels which was not expected but very much appreciated. We will be using her again for our next vacation and I know the pups will be excited to see her again!”

“We are so lucky to have found Julia! Another great stay for Eddie! She is always quick to respond to messages and keeps us updated throughout the entire stay. We know Eddie is in good hands when Julia is with him!”

“Words can not express my gratitude. I am eternally thankful. Donna becomes one of my family. My animals loved her and wanted to be around with her. I have 4 cats and one dog. Two cats are very sick. One with a heart murmur and another with diabetes and pancreatic abcess. They need constant care, medications, insulin shots, and heart murmur shots twice a day. I thought we would never find anyone willing to be with 5 animals and take care of sick cats with medications and shots 24/7. But , luckily, we found Donna. She retired pharmacists, and she did everything like most animal caretakers would not. Make no reservation. Donna is simply the best. We couldn't possibly even dream about anyone can handle this with such a care and dedication. We have contacted many Rover Stars, but they didn't even come close to our very complicated demands, but Donna not just did what she was ased for but exceeded all our expectation. She is the dream come true for any cats or dog owners!”

“Sophia was great! 10 out of 10 would recommend for sitting your pet! We were able to meet her before she stayed at our house! This was our first time leaving our 2 dogs for a few days to head to vacation and she was always sending us updated on how they were doing! We will be rebooking with Sophia for our next vacation to stay with our 2 dogs!”

“Samantha stayed with our dog Sadie in our home while we were out of town for four nights. She did an excellent job - it was clear Sadie was well cared for and enjoyed her time with Samantha. Samantha communicated with us throughout her stay and was a clean, thoughtful house guest. We were very pleased with Samantha and would highly recommend her.”

“Grateful for Juliana! Had a sitter accidentally double book with us and scrambled and was grateful to find her. The dogs loved her and she gave updates upon request. Would absolutely book with her again.”

“Breanna was nothing short of stellar. If I could leave a six or seven star review I would. She was proactive, fantastic with our dog (who had never stayed with a sitter before), and communicated perfectly. The house was as neat as we left it and Bre was very responsible. We were worried because Bre's stay coincided with our town fireworks, which is always a source of stress for our pup. We've tried everything to put her at ease but nothing worked... until Bre. Apparently swaddling her in a towel during the fireworks was the answer all along! If you're thinking of book Bre, do it before she's all booked up!”

“Julie-Ann was so great with our dogs, so communicative with us, and so thoughtful that it's hard to express our gratitude. Both dogs are rescues and they obviously fell in love with Julie-Ann. We came home to two relaxed and happy pups. The house was well cared for and we are very very happy customers.”

About: I've lived with animals since I was 11—including 3 cats and a dog—and my mom has always adopted senior pets with medical needs, so I’m used to gentle care, giving medications, and adapting routines for older or anxious animals. I'm calm, quiet, and patient, which makes me a great match for pets that are shy, reactive, or need a soft presence. I respect animals’ boundaries, take their comfort seriously, and genuinely enjoy being around them—whether that means walks, playtime, or just existing together in peace. I'm especially good with cats and have experience with dogs who need space or structure. Pet care fits naturally into my weekly routine. I have a flexible schedule and prefer part-time work, so I can prioritize animals without feeling rushed. I take my time, move at the pet’s pace, and always make space for their needs. I prioritize calm, quiet, and consistency when coming to clients homes. I respect each animal's space, follow all care instructions exactly, and check in often if something seems off. My goal is to make sure pets feel safe, relaxed, and understood at all times.
“Kyla did an amazing job sitting our two cats! She gave lots of updates throughout the day and sent lots of photos. She was super attentive and I felt at ease knowing my cats were in her care!”

Salina took great care of our fur babies. They all took to her instantly. She even got our dog who doesn't really warm up to anyone but us to play with her. She sent pictures and updates everyday. We would highly recommend Salina to care for your pets. She also took great care our house. We will definitely use her again.

Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Holliston walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Holliston maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Holliston choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.

You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
