“Brenda and her family were wonderful! Melon had a BALL at their house and was so well cared for. Brenda has been so kind, communicative, and considerate! We are lucky to have found Brenda and Melon is already booked to go back there again! ❤️”

“I had an amazing experience with my dog and pig sitter, Eliza, who stayed at my home for over a week. She took exceptional care of both my dog and pig, and I came home to animals that were clearly happy, relaxed, and well-loved. Eliza made sure both animals received their medicine (rolling with the punches because Buddy got an infection right before we left so it was an added responsibility she took on in stride) Eliza was incredibly thoughtful and sent regular photo updates, which gave me so much peace of mind while I was away. It was clear from the pictures and her communication that my pets were getting real attention, not just basic care. She was also very communicative and responsive whenever I had questions, which made everything feel easy and stress-free. My dog Buddy clearly bonded with her during the stay, he actually seemed a little sad when Eliza left, buddy went to the room she stayed in when we got home from our trip 😂 before sleeping where he usually. Highly recommend I would trust Eliza again without hesitation and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable, caring, and attentive pet sitter.”

“We love Kyla and so does Melon! Kyla has become our go-to sitter, taking pristine care of our pup, our home, and our fish. She is so clean, respectful, communicative, and sweet! We will (of course) be booking Kyla again for our next trip!”

“Laura was easy to work with and was very patient with our energetic terrier. She kept in touch while we were away to let us know that everything was going well, and she frequently sent us pictures and videos. We will definitely hire her again next time we are away.”

“Salina did an amazing job taking care of our almost 14 year old sassy and deaf dachshund Bella. Salina spent the week at our home while we went on vacation, and I cannot express what a wonderful job she did. It's not easy earning Bella's trust, but by the end of the week I believe they were best friends! Lots of cuddles and love! The pictures put my heart at ease, I could tell Bella was being lovingly cared for. Salina had to also deal with a power outage for a day at our complex, and also some technical issues that came afterward, and communication was seamless. Also, our home was spotless on our return! Thanks Salina for everything!”

“Sophia stayed with our three pups during the blizzard week. Not only were our fur babies well cared for, she did an outstanding, above and beyond job caring for our home. We would absolutely have her come stay again! Highly recommend.”

“Having Bre watch our three fur babies while we were away was the best choice we made. Two of our furries have special needs and we were so glad to have found her especially when one of them ended up needing to go to the vet. Bre alerted us right away that something was wrong and made sure she kept us informed of his progress. She went above and beyond to make sure our boy was cared for. Bre also sent great pictures with updates every day of all three of our fuzzies. They had so much fun with her and our cat, who hates everyone, snuggled right up with her. The house was left tidied, house plants didn't perish, and mail was stacked neatly. We will be hiring Bre again! 😀”

“I appreciate that Becki checks in to confirm booking details, especially on the return date. She makes sure my Zoey is not left alone for too long. I arrived home to a happy and well-cared for pup.”

“Donna was great. Prompt arrival and constant comma while we were away. She sent pictures and let us know Shirley was scratching her face likely due to anxiety. She treated our dog wonderfully and I would not hesitate to book again”

“Jeff did a great job with our cat. He was attentive, friendly, followed directions and gave us timely updates. Our cat has some special needs due to his age and health and it didn't phase Jeff in least -- he has an older cat of his own and he knows how to work with cats. Please don't hesitate to contact him for your cat's needs.”

“Thank you, Kiley, for taking such good care of our pets and home (and plants!) while we were away on vaca! We appreciated the photos and video you sent. We’d recommend Kiley to anyone looking for in home pet sitter. We’re pretty sure our three lets (2 cats and dog) would too.”

“Cathy did a wonderful job taking care of our dog, Ruthie. She stayed over at our house as we knew its where our dog would be more comfortable. Cathy took Ruthie on lots of walks during the day and the one morning Ruthie wouldn't pee on the walk, Cahty sent her son over to walk her at lunch time to make sure her needs were met. She was comfortable having the dog out on our electric fence and sent us just the right amount of updates and pictures. She is dependable, reliable, kind and you can tell is a lover of dogs and all animals. The house was just how we left it and she even put the sheets in the washing machine. We will definitely be using Cathy in the future.”

“Carly was AMAZING! It was our first time having a pet sitter stay in our house and it was for an extended period of time. Finding a reliable and trustworthy sitter was my main concern for our trip, but Carley alleviated all of my concerns. She sent regular photos and updates, and we came back to our home in perfect condition. All of the animals love her and I already have her booked for our next trip!”

“Audrey took great care of my dog, spent time playing with her, and made sure she got outside and exercised. She was also able to accommodate a same-day request when I was in a pinch, which was very helpful and much appreciated. Overall, a positive experience.”

“Haylie was great. We contacted her for house sitting over a long weekend. Her communication was fast and effective. We set up 2 meet and greets ahead of the weekend as one of our dogs can be selective. Our dogs loved Haylie. She was flexible with scheduling which we truly appreciated. She sent us text messages and videos during her stay. When we got home our dogs were happy and clearly well taken care of. We will use Haylie again and have no reservations about recommending her to others.”

“Audrey was wonderful with our dog, Roux. We had never left her with anyone besides family before, and were a little nervous. Audrey made sure she was comfortable, and felt safe and loved while we were on vacation. She sent us pictures whenever we needed them, because we missed her since we had never been away from her for so long before. We came home to a very happy dog! We would highly recommend Audrey.”

Kyla was superb. She communicated throughout her stay in our home, and our pup and house were both in better shape than when we left it. I loved her wake up and bedtime updates but she sent pictures and updates throughout the day which helped my daughter feel better about leaving our pup behind for our vacation. We would be lucky to have Kyla sit for us again!

Clara was such an amazing caretaker for our senior dog, and she was respectful of our house during her stay. Our dog is anxious and has some medical needs, and Clara handled it all beautifully. We are so grateful to have left our dog in such great hands while we were away. We will definitely reach out to her for future dog sitting needs!

Frequently asked questions about Rover
The average cost for House Sitting in Medway on Rover is $72.15 per night (as of July 2026). However, all sitters set their own rates based on experience, location, and availability.
Rover makes budgeting the cost of House Sitting easy. As long as your dates and pet profiles are correct, the price you see before you book is the same price you pay for House Sitting. For more information on service fees, click here .
As of July 2026, there are 6,820 sitters on Rover offering House Sitting across Medway. Enter your ZIP code to see which available sitters are closest to your home.
Beyond belly rubs and feeding schedules, a house sitter’s presence may provide an additional layer of security for your home. However, you will need to arrange overnight stays and other household tasks with your sitter when reaching out to them. Not all sitters offer the same services. Common household tasks you can negotiate include:
- Mail & deliveries: Collecting letters and packages so they don't pile up.
- Plant care: Keeping your indoor or outdoor garden hydrated.
- Trash & recycling: Taking trash cans to the curb on scheduled pickup days.
- Home security: Sitters can stay overnight to keep your home occupied.
The best way to align on expectations is during your free Meet & Greet. Use this time to provide a "home cheat sheet" that includes your preferred Medway walking routes, the location of your favorite pet store, and any specific quirks about your home’s security or appliances.
It’s helpful to think of house sitting as a "home base" service. Most sitters in Medway maintain their normal daily routines, like running errands or heading to the office, meaning your pet should be comfortable being alone for a few hours at a time. If your pet needs a little extra company, here is how to find the perfect match:
- Look for "WFH" sitters: Many sitters mention "Work from Home" on their profile to indicate they’ll be present for the majority of the day.
- Update your pet’s profile: Write down how long your pet can comfortably be left alone. This helps sitters quickly determine if their schedule aligns with your needs.
- Communicate 24/7 needs: Standard house sitting usually doesn't include constant supervision. If your pet requires round-the-clock care, be sure to discuss this upfront.
Tip: Use the Meet & Greet to confirm a sitter's typical "away" windows. Transparency ensures your pet stays happy and your sitter can plan their day effectively!
Key handling is entirely up to you and your sitter to agree on during the Meet & Greet or in the Rover app. Most pet parents in Medway choose to hand over a spare key or digital fob in person, while others arrange a lockbox or unique access code. Don't forget to discuss key returns as well!
The Rover Guarantee is Rover’s commitment to your peace of mind every time you book. It includes 24/7 customer support, sitter access to advice from qualified veterinary professionals for diagnostic issues, and a reimbursement program for eligible veterinary care in the rare event something goes wrong.
All bookings are backed by the Rover Guarantee , which provides up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care reimbursement.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
If a health concern arises during a stay, your sitter is instructed to contact you and our Trust & Safety team immediately and, if needed, take your pet to the closest veterinarian. Through our Trust & Safety support team, sitters can ask for diagnostic advice from a qualified veterinary professional if your pet is showing signs of possible illness.
For extra peace of mind, you can also prepare an authorization form for your regular vet. An authorization form outlines your preferred method of care and allows your sitter to bring your pet into their regular clinic.
Every qualified booking made on Rover is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes reimbursement for eligible emergency vet care.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
Yes, you can find sitters who have experience with handling special pet needs in Medway. On Rover:
- 92% of sitters can help with special care needs
- 97% can help with giving oral medications or injections
- 95% can help with daily exercise
You can also find pet sitters on Rover who accept only one pet at a time, which is ideal for anxious puppies, kittens, or senior pets who move at a gentler pace. Some sitters will also list availability for 24/7 care, also known as constant care, in their profiles.
Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
