“Eliza made sure our two cats were well taken care of and gave them lots of love and attention. We loved knowing they were in good hands while we were out of town. Would definitely use her again!”

About: I am a full-time working mom with 2 kids, 3 cats and 1 dog. I have years of experience walking, dog/cat sitting for friends, neighbors, family. I couldn't have a dog as a kid b/c we lived in an apartment so the first chance I was able to get my own dog, my husband and I adopted Buttons in 2009 when she was 4 months old and then Marty in 2013 at 10 weeks old. We also have 3 cats, Buttercup, Sox and Murray. We lost our 2 senior cats, Bruschi in 2024 and Seymour in 2019 at 18 and 12 yrs old. My soul dog, Buttons just passed away in March at 15 yrs old and for the last 9 months I administered daily subcutaneous fluids as well as supplements, probiotics, antibiotics on a daily basis to help support her kidney disease. I built her a wheelchair because she had arthritis but loved to walk and turned my old stroller into a dog stroller for her during her last days. I have another senior dog, Marty who is 12 and although doesn't take daily medication is a very anxious guy so learning to adapt and make his life amazing has been a learning curve since Buttons was such a laid back girl. I feel that dogs and cats and animals in general are an important part of your life, they teach us things that humans cannot and I feel that in my soul. I would be humbled to take care of your pets so that you do not have to worry at all. I work from home and typically can get away during a lunch break. I have the summers off and am pretty available during the weekdays. I have a fenced yard, I have experience walking an aggressive, anxious dog as well as a senior dog who needs to go slow and at her own pace. I have cats and am very conscious, even a bit paranoid at times of doors being left open or the window screens not being secure so I am always double checking those things.
About: I have had pets my entire life. Dogs, cats, birds, fish, rabbits…I love animals of all kinds. My mom became paralyzed and I walked and took care of her 2 senior dogs for about 8 years until they passed. I gave them oral medication, cooked their food, walked and groomed them. Then she adopted a puppy and I took care of him as well as trained him. I currently have 2 french bulldogs of my own. One is a hyper little puppy and the other is a calmer 5 year old. I love caring for pets whether they are my own or someone else’s. I currently work part time in home care until 2pm 4 days a week. I am available most afternoons. My schedule changes if a client is in the hospital and does not need care those days which gives me the flexibility to pick up more last minute walks or check ins. I have children so I cannot work all weekend but i can be flexible and am open to them. I am open to walking your dogs in your neighborhood or wherever you prefer. I am also open to check ins and feeding dogs or cats. I will do my best to keep your routine with them if that is what you prefer. I would like to know a little bit about them beforehand and any preferences or habits they have.
“We always book Erin to watch our cat Simba. She’s dependable, responsive, follows instructions carefully, and genuinely cares. During a storm and power outage, she went above and beyond to make sure Simba was safe. Highly recommend!”

About: I’ve cared for dogs my whole life, and my family and I have two of our own. I’ve also taken care of pets for neighbors, family, and friends, so I’m comfortable with all ages, personalities, and routines. Pet care fits easily into my routine because I run my own business and am home most of the time. I plan my day around visits so each pet gets steady attention. I care for pets by following their normal routines, paying close attention to their behavior, and keeping their environment calm and comfortable. In a client’s home, I respect their space, follow instructions carefully, and make sure pets feel safe and relaxed.
“Emily took great care of our 3 pups over 7 days, is super accommodating, flexible with shifting scheduler and super friendly. We returned to happy and healthy pups - highly recommend Emily!”

“If you are looking for a confident, outstanding, trustworthy person to come take care of your fur babies, look no further ! Keri takes amazing care of my large goofball Captain, not being scared away by his weird barking habits in the crate. Within two minutes of meeting her he was rolling over on his belly and giving her kisses! I don’t need to worry at all about the safety and care of my dog with Keri ❤️book with her !!!!”

“Sam is great! She watched our oldest kitten when he was just a few months old, and again now that we have two! Our oldest loves playing with her and hanging out, and though our second is a little shy, she did manage to come out at the end of the visit. Sam is reliable and has great communication. Looking forward to booking her again in the future!”

About: I’ve been walking my family’s dogs for almost a decade now - a high energy Brittany spaniel as well as a husky/shepherd mix. 7 years ago I adopted Layla, a pittie/german shepherd mix who I’ve trained extensively and take on daily adventures. Then, a year ago I adopted Dixon (a German shepherd/Australian cattle dog mix) and he’s been reactive to humans and dogs alike. I’ve had extensive training in classes with him alongside professionals. I’ve taken that experience and can apply many basic training concepts to dogs of all sizes/ages. I’m currently off of work for the summer and have total flexibility to look after/walk your pups! When I am working during the school year, I have afternoons available to walk your dogs during the work week. I have a wide variety of trails/walking spots I frequent in the local area, so your pup will always be enriched & happy! I always carry some kind of dog deterrent (PetSafe SprayShield or Pet Corrector) in case of emergency, and always engage in positive reinforcement training throughout walks. This looks like rewarding the dog(s) with treats when they check in with me, stay in a heel, or keep loose tension on the leash.
“We used to find a neighborhood youth to take care of our outdoor cat when we went away. Our cat is now older and needs transdermal medication applied to his ears twice a day - so 14 visits. It was time to find a reliable adult. Through Rover we connected with Jill who lives nearby and has her own senior cat. We could not be more satisfied with the care she provided. The daily notification of visits with photos were much appreciated - although they did make me miss my pet more. Thank you Jill!”

I am working part time right now but am a full time dog AND cat mom so I always have to make sure their needs are first! I helped train my dogs when they were younger so they are very good and listen well. I know they trust me and I trust them.

“This is my first time ever using Rover and Cate was awesome! She came a lot a week or so before for a meet and greet with me and my pup. She was very friendly and seemed so loving to my dog Finn. On the day she came by to let him out she was on time and left me an awesome note that included 4 pictures of her time with Finn. I would definitely recommend her and use her again!”

About: I have over five years of hands-on experience working with dogs of all ages, sizes, and temperaments through my job at Happy Tails Doggy Daycare, where I was promoted to the highest-level handler. Every day, I managed groups of 15+ dogs, monitored behavior, prevented conflicts, and helped create a safe, positive environment for every dog in my care. I also have experience administering medication and caring for both young and senior dogs. On a personal level, I’ve owned three dogs myself, and one of my current dogs is very anxious and reactive, so I’m very comfortable handling dogs that need extra patience, structure, and attention. I truly love working with animals and treat every pet like they’re my own. I’m currently home from college for the summer, so I have a very flexible schedule and plenty of time to give your pups the attention and care they deserve! I’m available for walks, drop-ins, playtime, and pet care at a variety of hours, and I’m happy to work around your schedule to make sure your pets are well cared for and comfortable. I always make sure pets feel safe, comfortable, and cared for while sticking as closely as possible to their normal routine. Whether in my home or a client’s home, I provide plenty of attention, exercise, playtime, fresh water, feeding on schedule, bathroom breaks, and lots of affection. I pay close attention to each dog’s behavior and energy level to make sure they are happy and comfortable, and I’m experienced in handling dogs with different personalities and needs, including reactive and senior dogs. My goal is always to create a calm, positive environment where pets feel secure and well cared for while their owners are away.

Alli was incredible! She took such great care of our baby while we were gone. It’s always tough to leave your dog behind when traveling, but she made it easier with constant check ins and pictures to show us how our baby was doing!!! We’ll be reaching out to her again :))

As newbies to Rover, Erin was wonderful with us from our first interaction. And our cats immediately took to her at our meet and greet. While we were away, we knew our pets were well taken care of by Erin, which put as at ease. Not only did she provide the care for our pets that we discussed, she went the extra mile with any additional needs that popped up. And her communication with us was very efficient, including pictures and video updates of our pets. We will definitely be contacting Erin again for our future pet care needs!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
