Safety, trust & environment
Safety always comes first, with my own animals as well as yours! I firmly believe in double-checking doors, crates, and gates. I will check your pet’s food and water supply. With my experience, I also know when things appear “off” (e.g. lethargy, sore tummies, loose stool), and will notify you right away. I aim to care for your pet to your exact specifications (it’s my teacher brain at work!).
Information Kate S. would like to know about your pet
I fully believe that knowledge is power. Please inform me of any medical or behavioral needs your animal may have. In addition to this, knowing your animal’s preferences (do they prefer to eat in a specific location, have a favorite toy, or dislike being pat on a specific spot on their body?) is also super helpful!
A typical day
If you have an active pet, I love a good game of fetch, frisbee, or tug of war! I’m happy to use your cat’s wand toy as a boredom buster. With more subdued pets, I’ll follow their lead. I can take your chilled out pup on a quiet walk to smell all the smells (we call this “reading the news” in our household), or give your cat some extra love and attention (if they’d like!).

Animal Lover and Elementary Teacher
Pet care experience
Hi! While I work primarily as an elementary school teacher, I’m also a lifelong animal owner and caretaker. Currently, I’m the lucky pet parent to two cats, one dog, five chickens, and a horse. Growing up, I learned love and responsibility through caring for my family’s pets. Animal care remains one of my greatest sources of joy. My idea of a good time is spending hours researching joint care for my senior horse, or working through my morning chicken chores with my black lab trotting by my side. I feel honored every time my shy tiger cat snuggles up behind me on the couch, and I look forward to daily playtime with my lab and black cat. Additionally, I have experience with caring for animals with special or medical needs. My dog receives daily oral medication. My previous cat received weekly chemotherapy after a lymphoma diagnosis, and I became very familiar with oral medication administration in cats. Whether you have a senior dog or skittish cat who prefers quiet and calm, or a new pup in need of a play session, I’m happy to help you and your furry friends!

Reviews

Kate was so amazing with our two cats! Even our very shy girl came out to see her and play. So grateful for the care she provided while we were away. She went above and beyond! Would definitely book with her again if she is available!
Kate is the best! She has taken care of our cat Teddy multiple times and he loves her visits. She takes extra time to brush him and pet him and write detailed accounts of his status with pictures. We never have to worry on vacation thanks to Kate.

Kate was absolutely fantastic. It was the first time using a cat sitter and the first time leaving our cats. We travelled internationally so I really wanted someone I could trust. From the walk through before we travelled, I had an instant warmth and trust with Kate. During our travels she was always on time, her check-ins were very descriptive which I really appreciated and the photos she took of our cats were adorable! I was so happy that our cats welcomed her and warmed up to her very quickly, for not so cuddling cats they were very cuddling with Kate. I would highly recommend and will definitely be rebooking her for future needs. I actually feel sad that my cats won’t be seeing her on the daily for a while and I’m sure the cats are sad too!

Kate is a great care giver. She took care of my two cats while I was on vacation. She is attentive and responsible. I feel lucky to find her to look after my cats.
