“Brenda stepped in last minute to take Ms. Jackson on a couple of walks and feed her dinner. She was great about keeping me updated on her visit and she even cleaned up a little excitement piddle (Sorry Brenda!!! 😱😱😱). When I got home my little girl was completely tuckered out and in the best mood. Zero complaints, would recommend Brenda every time!”

About: Hi! I’m Alexandra. My husband and I have been dog sitting for several years and love providing a loving home away from home for our furry guests. We have a fully fenced yard where our dogs and their doggy friends can run, play and enjoy extra company safely. I’m a full-time dog walker during the week with the flexibility and time to give your pup the care they deserve. I previously worked at a veterinary clinic and have volunteered with various animal rescue organizations. I have experience with many breeds and personalities, ensuring each dog gets individualized attention. Your pup’s safety and comfort are our top priorities. We do not have children, so dogs who prefer a child-free environment are always welcome here.
About: I have taken care of dogs for as long as I can remember, and I’ve not lived a single day without having one or two dogs in my home. I have such a special place in my heart for dogs and no matter what kind how big, how mean, or nice it is I will make sure it is cared for and loved as much as it can be. I work part time at a nursing home in Medway, but my hours are not extremely long, and I have the flexibility to leave when needed to care for pets if they are located nearby. During the school year, I am a student at Bridgewater State University, so I will primarily be looking for pet care services in that area. My classes end no later than noon each day, which gives me plenty of availability in the afternoons and evenings, as well as in the mornings when needed before class. When caring for pets in my home, I treat them like family. I love spending time with them, playing with them, and giving them plenty of attention to make sure they feel loved and not ignored. My dogs at home and I spend a lot of time on walks and hikes. I also have a fenced in backyard where they can safely run and play. I am very comfortable handling larger dogs on leash and can manage any that may pull. When I care for a pet at a client's home, I make sure they have everything they need while I am there, like fresh food and water. I also make sure they get lots of playtime and attention, and toys to keep them entertained. I will ALWAYS follow every pet's individual routine and make sure they are comfortable, safe, and cared for at all times.
“Tricia is fantastic! This was our first time using her to walk our dog, and we couldn’t be happier. She showed up exactly on time and was immediately great with our black lab, Cooper. After just one hour with her, Cooper was listening to her better than he listens to us! You can tell she truly loves animals—she’s kind, patient, and clearly a pro. Cooper came back happy, well-exercised, and tired out, which is exactly what he needed. If you’re considering a new dog walker, I highly recommend Tricia. We will definitely be booking her again!”

“Keri was great with our two dogs. She was very responsive and followed all my instructions. The dogs loved her. She sent me live updates and photos which were great! I’ll definitely use her again in the future.”

“Rachel has been amazing for Piper! She totally gets dogs and was patient with Piper as she opened up and got to know her. Piper was so happy and we look forward to working with Rachel more in the future!”

“Georgina is wonderful! Our 1 year old pup absolutely adored her, and she provided great updates and photos after each walk while we were away. We hope to work with Georgina again soon!”

“I can’t recommend Sam enough! We’ve booked her for recurring weekly walks, and she’s been fantastic every time. She’s very responsive, reliable, and always sends updates with photos after each walk, which we really appreciate. She handles our energetic black lab with ease, and he always comes back happy and tired. Highly recommend Sam for dog walking or sitting!”

About: I’ve been taking care of not just only my dogs, but other people’s for as long as I can remember! My family has rescued dogs, adopted old dogs, and adopted puppies. I have a wide variety of care I that I can’t wait to provide. Dogs are great best friends and I have loved them all my life, so I’m excited to meet yours! I’m pretty available for drop ins whenever you need, aside from my class times which we can work around! I can come walk your pups or hang out with them, play with them and feed them, whatever you would like! I can come to your home and care for your pets, I’ll provide a comfortable, fun and safe environment for them! I always feel bad when I have to leave my dogs for any reason, so I know how important it is to leave them in good hands, which is what I can be for you!
About: I've been looking after dogs, cats, and exotic pets for about 10 years now. I have a dog, 2 cats, and a leopard gecko of my own, so I know how to take care of all types of animals! I originally started my pet care journey with family pets, and slowly began gaining clients through family friends and being recommended to other people. I have handled all age ranges from kittens to seniors, so I'm able to do a wide array of services (administering medicine, being extra observant, correcting behavior, training, etc.) I'm able to be outside in all kinds of weather, and I can walk or play with your animals for as long as you prefer! I currently work full-time, but I still have plenty of time to care for your animals! My work is very flexible and I am often able to step away to visit your animals. I am completely free on Saturday afternoons, all day Sunday, and all day Monday. Depending on what environment your animal has at your home, I cater to your every preference. On leash, off leash, crated, no pets on furniture, etc. I always make sure to respect my clients homes and most importantly their wishes!
“Cassandra is a wonderful person and so happy we found her! We have an 18yo dog who’s essentially deaf and blind and last minute Cassandra agreed to help us, not once but twice. She took exceptional care of him and was a pleasure working with.”

“Brittany was amazing with our female labradoodle Mia! She clearly loves animals and was very attentive and provided a very nice summary and photos of Mia after every visit. She’s great and we highly recommend her!”

“Nick took such great care of my dog Lana while I was abroad! He kept me updated with regular photos and messages, which really helped me feel at ease being so far away. I could tell he was attentive, responsible, and genuinely cared about her well-being. It meant so much to be able to trust someone with her during that time. Because he is so familiar with dogs and knows some dog training, he was also able to keep her calm when they would encounter another dog (with treats of course!) I’d absolutely recommend him to anyone looking for a kind and reliable sitter!”

“Marina is great, she arrives on time and is able to take Hensley out on walks in the woods. Our pup is a little on the shy side and she has been kind enough to gently introduce her to another dog to help with that. Thank you, Marina!”

“Emma-Claire was an excellent dog walker, she was very responsive from the start, responsible, followed all my direction on how to get access to the house, put the harness on and kept our two doggies happy and safe. She sent us photos of the walk, we felt that they were in good hands. Will definitely recommend her to others and plan on using her again.”

About: I have had pets my entire life. Dogs, cats, birds, fish, rabbits…I love animals of all kinds. My mom became paralyzed and I walked and took care of her 2 senior dogs for about 8 years until they passed. I gave them oral medication, cooked their food, walked and groomed them. Then she adopted a puppy and I took care of him as well as trained him. I currently have 2 french bulldogs of my own. One is a hyper little puppy and the other is a calmer 5 year old. I love caring for pets whether they are my own or someone else’s. I currently work part time in home care until 2pm 4 days a week. I am available most afternoons. My schedule changes if a client is in the hospital and does not need care those days which gives me the flexibility to pick up more last minute walks or check ins. I have children so I cannot work all weekend but i can be flexible and am open to them. I am open to walking your dogs in your neighborhood or wherever you prefer. I am also open to check ins and feeding dogs or cats. I will do my best to keep your routine with them if that is what you prefer. I would like to know a little bit about them beforehand and any preferences or habits they have.
About: I have been a true pet lover my entire life. Now I raise two daughters who feel the same way. There has never been an animal we did not love. I have been the one all of my friends and family always rely on to help walk, feed, bathe, and take care of their pets. I have a lot of energy so love being active and going on walks and hikes and running around with a dog. I am happy to have an animal cuddled onto my lap and do not even mind being licked all over my face! I treat every pet as if it was my own. I trained two dogs from 8 weeks old, on so understand what it takes. I have had a cats my entire life and I love kitties as well! I am comfortable with big and small animals. My children are the biggest animal lovers I know and both want to be vets when they grow up. We would treat your pet like it was our own with more love than you can imagine! My girls and I are around most of the summer, as I work in a school. We are very active so we would love to be out and about walking and taking care of your dog or taking care of your cats! If I were to come to your home and take care of your pet or walk your dog, I would be very comfortable letting myself in and approaching any time of animal. I would give them all the love in the world an any care or exercise they need!

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your dog, and a walker. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your walker or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your walker questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and walkers on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement walker.
