“Robert was amazing! Made us feel very comfortable when dropping Dino off and continued to stay in close contact while we were away. Received multiple photos and videos + daily updates. Dino was safe and engaged every day!! We can tell he misses Robert already which is a great sign. Will definitely book with Robert again!!”

About: I’ve been caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities for over 20 years. As a neonatal nurse practitioner, providing attentive, compassionate care is part of who I am, and I bring that same level of responsibility and love to every pet I watch. I’m the proud owner of Kona, my friendly 9-year-old Lab/Shar-Pei mix, and I have two young children who have grown up around dogs and are gentle and respectful with animals. Because of my flexible schedule, I’m available most days of the week and can provide plenty of attention, playtime, potty breaks, and companionship. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing fetch, or simply relaxing with people, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. About: I have always had a dog since a was a small child. As I became an adult my own children and I got two dogs, Milo and Leo. I also volunteer at the APL and foster dogs and puppies often. On top of this, I have dogsit for family several times. Dogs ranging from Schnauzer to Siberian husky in size! Most importantly, my dogs both foster and owned are apart of our family and I would love to extend our family to your fur babies! I wake up and get let out, fed, and get some loving before work. I work as a teacher 7 to 4. Once home the dogs get let out and often get time to sit on the front porch and play before dinner. I have a fenced in yard at our home. At your home I will listen and follow to the details listed to keep your dog safe while at your home.
“We are so happy we found Debbie! She watched our dog, Finn for a long weekend, and we felt so grateful that he was in her home while we were away. Debbie was so kind and caring with Finn. Finn also enjoyed lots of time in her fenced in backyard. He was even allowed to use her little doggie door to get there when he wanted to go out. We will book with Debbie again for sure- it was comforting to know he was safe and happy at Debbie’s house!”

“Hailey and Potato were wonderful hosts to our dogs, Marley and Luna. Luna is a bit shy and Luna was able to open uo and play with Potato. Hailey sent just enough photos and updates throughout the visit and was very accommodating with the scheduling. The girls came back extremely happy and had a wonderful time with their stay with Hailey. Her yard is perfect and she is very efficient with drop off and pickups. I would definitely have our girls stay with Hailey again!”

“Megan took great care of our senior dog! She made the entire experience very easy and we were able to enjoy our trip without having to worry about our little guy. We would love to book with her again!”

“Absolutely amazing care and communication. Stella's stay was perfect. So so thankful we found this family. And Stella now has a new doggie best friend!”

About: I’ve always wanted a bigger pack. Caring for your dog like family gives them a loving home away from home while fulfilling my lifelong passion for dogs. I work from home during the week so I have the flexibility to give your fur baby play and bathroom breaks as their needs dictate. I have a spacious backyard equipped with 20ft. tie outs for supervised fun in the sun. Two to theee walks a day in the Avondale neighborhood as weather permits.
“Kathy and James were amazing! I was so comfortable leaving my Koda with them and received so many updates to continue the comfort my whole vacation! I will be always booking with them whenever I need!”

About: I have loved dogs my whole life despite not being aloud to have any growing up. My parents just didn’t have the same love for animals as I did. Any chance I got I would go to friends houses or family’s houses and give their dogs love. It was very clear what my plan was after moving out of my mom’s house. Me and my now husband moved in together and very shortly after adopted our fur baby Luna!! Almost a year later we decided to add to the family and we got our other fur baby Salem. It’s been an amazing 3 years with Luna so far and 2.5 years with Salem!! After having them occasionally getting dog sat on rover for a few years now I realized I would love to be one of the awesome sitters to make your babies feel loved just like they are at home. While I feel as if I have more experience from being around other dogs my whole life I do think it’s only right to limit my experience to the years I’ve had with my own dogs. It is definitely different than just spending time with dogs. I also have decided to start with smaller dog breeds since I am currently pregnant and have a toddler. I am a stay at home mom with plenty of time to care for your pups, even more time once my husband gets home from work everyday. Me and my toddler love getting outside for walks and would make sure to have your pup join us. I will be taking a long break from sitting once our new baby is here. I will arrange my schedule once that is happening. I’m so excited to meet new pups and help out other owners! As I mentioned before, I am a stay at home mom with an active toddler who loves going on walks. I also have 2 dogs who have an active schedule so the pet care routine is already part of my daily routine as is the walking. I can cater to your pup however I need to if they have different needs. While your pups are in my home I can provide them exercise with walks and play time with our 2 dogs. They are very active dogs and we do walks often because we do not have a closed in back yard yet. We do plan on putting up a temporary fence around our back patio. Your dogs will get the same amount of attention and care as ours. My toddler is also very gentle with dogs of all sizes and if needed for older dogs we have child gates to create separate spaces. While yes, my husband and toddler are part of the household, I will be the sole caretaker of any dogs that I sit and that will not change. If it does change, my profile will be updated to a joint profile with my husband.
“Julie was wonderful with our little Morkie. She treated our little girl like her own. Her dog is very friendly and they got along well. Highly recommend Julie as a dog sitter. Will definitely use her for future bookings and happy we found someone that could trust and likes our quirky little dog.”

“Our dog was with Amanda and family for almost 3 weeks. I was worried because she sometimes has separation anxiety and thought she would not do well at a conventional boarding place. I made the right choice. Penny seemed very happy and well cared for in the pictures I received. They took amazing care of her and the children were able to play with her. The whole family was involved and Penny seemed to fit right in. I will definitely book with Amanda the next time we need to go away.”

“It was very hard to leave our Hope for so long, but we knew she was in excellent hands. We are very pleased with the care and daily updates via pictures. We will definitely leave Hope with Sarah and Brendon when the need presents itself in the future.”

“I am so pleased with my dog sitting experience with Karin! We were really comfortable during the meet and greet. Karin took the time to ask questions about Sonnie, and Sonnie and Chubb interacted and played like they had already met. This was my first time leaving Sonnie with her, and 2 minutes after I left she sent me a note and picture, putting me at ease immediately. She communicated and sent pictures a few times a day. She goes above and beyond and I will definitely use her services again (if/when she is available)!”

“Sabrina is absolutely fantastic! She took excellent care of my dog, followed all feeding and care instructions perfectly, and kept me updated the whole time. I received daily photos updates, and it was so comforting to see my pup playing and settling in perfectly. Highly recommend to anyone in the Avon Lake area”

About: I have loved and cared for dogs for many years. During college, I spent five years working in a veterinary office where I gained valuable experience. I have a friendly Golden retriever who enjoys having other dogs around (large or small). I have cared for dogs belonging to our friends and family while they travel and understand how important it is to leave your pet with someone you trust. I provide a safe, comfortable home where your dog can be a part of the family while enjoying our spacious fenced yard and receive plenty of attention. Our two children are older and comfortable with dogs. They understand how to be respectful around dogs so your dog will be joining a calm, family-oriented home. I understand that every dog has a unique personality and routine and will do my best to make your dog feel at home while you're away. Pet care fits naturally into my daily life because I am home much of the time and enjoy having dogs as part of our family routine. I have the flexibility to give boarding dogs plenty of attention and outdoor time. I am able to accommodate each dog's normal routine as much as possible, including feeding schedules, medications, playtime and bedtime. My goal is for your dog to feel comfortable in our home rather than staying in a kennel. Our home has a large fenced yard where dogs can safely play and explore. My friendly Golden Retriever enjoys playing with friends. I keep my boarding groups under 2 dogs so I can give each dog individual attention and maintain a calm environment.
About: My name is Alice! I have over 7 years of dog grooming experience and absolutely love what I do. I recently switched to mobile grooming so I always have my shop at home. I have experience with all sorts of pet related challenges, such as elderly dogs, young pups, and a wide variety of health conditions. I currently have no pets of my own and am looking to find more ways to help people get the best care for their pets!! I’m currently working full time, but I am always on the go and am able to make one or two day time stops for potty breaks in between my clients. On weekends I am off work all day. During the winter time my boyfriend plows so he is mostly home as well. I live with my boyfriend who is also a huge animal lover. Between the two of us we have lots of love to offer your pup! We enjoy walks near the house and cuddles on the couch in the evening.

Kelly was incredible with Otis! Leaving him for a long weekend for the first time was tough, but Kelly made the whole process stress-free. She sent constant updates, spent plenty of time playing with him, and was so sweet with his routine (including making him eggs). Otis was in fantastic hands, and we'll absolutely be booking Kelly again in the future!

We have taken our dog to Margaret a few times and would highly recommend! She took our dog for a walk in the park and sent photos during the stay. She has good quick communication. Well worth the cost knowing she is with someone who cares for her the same way we do!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
