“We had been booked for a longer stay but plans changed due to illness - Sharon was so gracious & let us modify the stay at the last minutes. My fur babies were taken care of very well!!”
About: I have a 5-year-old chocolate Lab boy and a 4-year-old Maine Coon boy. They’re best buddies, super friendly, and always happy to make new friends! I’ve been caring for dogs and cats since I was very young age. I work from home Monday through Friday with a flexible schedule. My cat and dog are best friends, they’re very good boys and always welcoming others. Fenced yard with 0.6 acer backyard, so the dog friend can run and play outside. While your pet is in our care, their safety is our top priority. However, accidents can occur. If your dog becomes injured or injures another animals pr person, We will notify you immediately. Owner is responsible for all veterinary costs and medical decisions. Aggression, biting, or repeated dangerous behavior may result in early pickup.
About: I’ve been caring for dogs of all sizes, breeds, and personalities for over 20 years. As a neonatal nurse practitioner, providing attentive, compassionate care is part of who I am, and I bring that same level of responsibility and love to every pet I watch. I’m the proud owner of Kona, my friendly 9-year-old Lab/Shar-Pei mix, and I have two young children who have grown up around dogs and are gentle and respectful with animals. Because of my flexible schedule, I’m available most days of the week and can provide plenty of attention, playtime, potty breaks, and companionship. Whether your dog loves long walks, playing fetch, or simply relaxing with people, I’ll make sure they feel safe, comfortable, and loved while you’re away. “She did a great job and my usually very shy and scared cat warmed up to Stephanie and her family fairly quickly! I have nothing but good things to say about her. Also, she was very flexible on the pick up time and I couldn’t be more appreciative. Highly recommend to use her for your animal sitting needs!”

“Leo and his family took good care of my dog. Oreo enjoyed his stay and was so happy with them. I appreciate their flexibility with schedule too, so that I have enough time to get myself and my family settled.”

“We are so happy we found Debbie! She watched our dog, Finn for a long weekend, and we felt so grateful that he was in her home while we were away. Debbie was so kind and caring with Finn. Finn also enjoyed lots of time in her fenced in backyard. He was even allowed to use her little doggie door to get there when he wanted to go out. We will book with Debbie again for sure- it was comforting to know he was safe and happy at Debbie’s house!”

“Julie and her family were excellent with my somewhat anxious dog Sammy, and made him feel at home from the beginning. She sent daily pics/videos. Highly recommend her!”

“This is my first time leave in Tinkerbell alone with a sitter. Carrie made me feel very comfortable, sent updates and photos, and welcome Tinkerbell into her home. Tinkerbell and I both are very happy”

“Amazing dog sitter, would highly recommend. You can really tell that she and her husband care and love the dogs so much. So glad and reassured that Miso was in their hands for a week and had so much fun. Would book again for future trips!”

“Victoria was able to accommodate Abbey the same day (with in hours) of when we needed to drop her off. My dog was immediately drawn to Victoria and her calm easy energy. Victoria sent a picture of Abbey fitting in and to check in with pick up time. When I came to pick up my pup she was enjoying a beautiful day in their big back yard with the other dogs Victoria was sitting. Over all I felt my dog felt at easy with Victoria, her family and the other dogs being watched after.”

“We have used Marcie multiple times now. We never have to worry with her. She takes wonderful care of our dog and spoils him like he is her own. She is super flexible with time last minute changes. We were gone on our dog’s birthday and she sent us pics of him getting special birthday dog treats! Can’t say enough good things!”

“Kathleen was great - Dewey is an anxious pup, but she was able to get him to settle down and be comfortable quickly! She was very communicative and kept us well informed as to how he was doing. We will definitely be using her again!”

About: I got my first puppy for my 10th birthday. She was entirely my responsibility. I fed, bathed, and trained her. She was a huge white shepherd and the sweetest thing on paws I still miss her. Since then, I’ve had many, many dogs and cats through the years. I’ve been through dog training school several times. I currently have three full-sized Goldendoodles who are reasonably well trained, although they are still way too friendly. I’m retired and available about any day except Sunday afternoons: noon church service. I get my groceries delivered, so I’m here most of the time. I try to walk one of mine every day, weather permitting. I would walk your pup before I walk mine. I also have a fenced-in back yard where the dog run and play. My house is dog friendly, and I’m not overly concerned with dirt. I also have the world’s best vacuum cleaner to deal with it and all the hair. lol I have a large fenced-in back yard with river rock instead of grass, so mud is not a problem. My three friendly Doodles love racing around, especially in the snow, and they would love to add your dog to the fun. At the end of the day, we all go upstairs and sleep in my room with a baby-gate blocking the door, so there is no house roaming overnight. I also have room for crates if that’s what your dog needs to feel comfortable. I have one cat who is comfortable around dogs and knows where to hide if necessary. Please have your dog be familiar with cats or at least won’t attack her if she tries to make friends. I can accommodate special diets and know how to use a pill gun for medications.
“Amanda, husband and kids were very sweet with Abhi! They got him a toy and made sure he was very safe! She even sent me sweet pics to ensure he was doing well! Thank you!”

About: Hi! I’m a Registered Nurse, a dog lover, and the proud dog mom to Mr. Puppers, I work at home full time, and take frequent walks. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. I work from home, so I’m able to plan my day around frequent potty breaks, walks, meals, playtime, and check-ins throughout the day. I’m very structured and attentive to routines, which helps pets feel comfortable and secure. Caring for my own dog, Mr. Puppers, is already part of my daily schedule. I care for pets by keeping their routines consistent and stress-free. In my home, pets get frequent potty breaks, walks, meals on schedule, playtime, and lots of attention since I work from home.

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
