“Lucy had such a wonderful stay with Jenni!! Jenni is so kind, caring, and accommodating. She provided a warm and cozy home and lots of extra attention. Jenni provided daily pictures of activities and walks. We could tell Lucy was well cared for. We are grateful to have found Jenni and to have had a happy place for Lucy to be while we were away!”

“Sarah and Brandon were absolutely wonderful! They took amazing care of my dog during her week-long stay, and I could really tell they treated her like family. They sent regular updates, photos, and responded quickly whenever I had a question. It gave me such peace of mind knowing she was in great hands. I highly recommend Sarah and Brandon to anyone looking for kind, reliable and attentive pet sitters!”

“Kayla was a great sitter for our pup. We needed help last minute, we did a meet and greet and then our dog stayed for a long weekend. She came home exhausted from all the fun and play. She was well taken care of. Would definitely recommend Kayla for your sitting needs.”

“We’re really happy with Debra and how she handled everything for our dog while we were out of town. We arranged for a meetup before the stay to ensure this would be a good match. When I dropped off our dog there was an introduction to the other pets in her home so our pup could get acclimated. While we were away we received daily updates with photos and it looked like our pup was having a great time. Thanks for taking good care and we look forward to scheduling with you again!”

“We had a great experience with Chelsea! She was very friendly, easy to communicate with, and took wonderful care of our dog while we were away. We appreciated the updates and could tell our pup was happy and well cared for. It gave us peace of mind knowing our dog was in good hands. We would definitely book with her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a reliable and caring sitter!”

“Rachel was amazing with my dog, Addy! She treated her like her own and sent photo updates every day, which I loved. Addy was clearly happy and well taken care of. I’d definitely book with Rachel again!”

“Michael has been so wonderful with our Tiny Tim. Tiny loves going over to Michael’s house when we have something going on for the day. We will always use Michael as long as he still in the business.”

“Archna was wonderful with our 2 Goldens. She sent updates, which eased our minds, and took very good care of them. She is very professional, and we would definitely use her again for care.”

“Kyra was fantastic taking care of my mom's dog when she was in the hospital unexpectedly. He is a rescue and very skittish, but Kyra made him feel comfortable and right at home. She also sent photos and updates every day. Highly recommend Kyra for your furry family members!”

“Our dog Lonnie had a great time with Victoria and her family. She sent pictures and updates and has such a great backyard for a dog that loves to run. We stumbled upon Victoria after our original dog sitting plan fell through and we will for sure use her again in the future when we need a sitter! Thanks so much for caring for our pup!”

“Michael and Regina were wonderful with our pups, Foggy and Sunny. I received a ton of pictures and updates the week I were away. Michael and Regina treated our babies like one of their own. Foggy and Sunny came back to us happy, I could not ask for better sitters. I will be using them again.”

“Lenny and his wife were awesome! My two pups came back so happy to see us! We’ve struggled with them not eating in the past when we’ve boarded them. But they ate the whole time they were with them! I will definitely be using them again!”

“Rachel was flexible about pick up/drop off times and very easy to get in touch with over the weekend. She sent pictures and updates throughout the stay. Zeke was happy and tired (probably from all the puppy play time he had this weekend!) when I picked him up. I will definitely use Rachel again in the future!”

“Another great stay with Roza and family! They are so welcoming to our fur baby Zeus and even celebrated his birthday with him while we were out of town to make him feel special! I’ll be booking again, she’s a favorite!”

“Andrea was great, she is knowledgeable about dogs and worked with our dog. She was sitting a couple other dogs at the same time and the day I dropped her off , she introduced Daisy to a dog of a similar temperament so Daisy would have a friend. Also we were later than expected getting home and when I asked Andrea said we could pick Daisy up the next morning instead of the night we planned to pick her up.”

“Jason gave us so much peace of mind while we were away for the weekend! Regular updates and photos of our dog and was super flexible when our pickup time was changed. I was so happy when I read that he volunteers at his local animal shelter because that really shows how much he cares for dogs & that he can handle all types of dogs!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
