“Amanda was very responsive, respectful, and understanding. Unfortunately, my pup started showing some unexpected behavioral issues we hadn’t seen before, which led to ending the stay earlier than planned. Amanda quickly notified us and followed our instructions to ensure everyone stayed safe until we arrived for pickup.”

“I can’t begin to say enough about Lynn. With just moving to Cleveland and not knowing anyone here, it was hard for me to leave my 15yr old Pomeranian Walter with a stranger. He had only a handful of people I would leave him with back home and with all of his health issues I was concerned of his needs being met. Lynn went above and beyond her call of duty as a sitter. Sending messages, pictures and updates every day. This made my vacation 10 times more relaxing knowing he was well taken care of like he was one of hers. Thank you so much Lynn!”

“I’m a returning customer because Jeffany and her husband always go above and beyond for my pup. They treat my dog like family, keep me updated with the sweetest photos, and I always feel completely at ease knowing he’s in their care. It’s such a comfort to have sitters who are reliable, loving, and genuinely passionate about animals. Highly recommend them to anyone looking for trustworthy, caring pet sitters!”

“Julie is amazing! From start to finish, she was quick to respond, provided many updates, photos and videos, and was so friendly, kind and professional. She and her family had a ton of patience for my boston terrier Lily, who is obsessed with playing tug of war and fetch. I never once worried about Lily. Julie was also very accommodating for my last minute request for a sitter, and I really appreciated that!! Don't hesitate to book her services! I definitely will again!”

“Wendalyn and Keith were wonderful! They were very easy to communicate with sent us a lot of pictures of our sweet girl, and even took her to Petco for a present—too kind! We will absolutely book with them again!”
About: I got my first puppy for my 10th birthday. She was entirely my responsibility. I fed, bathed, and trained her. She was a huge white shepherd and the sweetest thing on paws I still miss her. Since then, I’ve had many, many dogs and cats through the years. I’ve been through dog training school several times. I currently have three full-sized Goldendoodles who are reasonably well trained, although they are still way too friendly. I’m retired and available about any day except Sunday afternoons: noon church service. I get my groceries delivered, so I’m here most of the time. I try to walk one of mine every day, weather permitting. I would walk your pup before I walk mine. I also have a fenced-in back yard where the dog run and play. My house is dog friendly, and I’m not overly concerned with dirt. I also have the world’s best vacuum cleaner to deal with it and all the hair. lol I have a large fenced-in back yard with river rock instead of grass, so mud is not a problem. My three friendly Doodles love racing around, especially in the snow, and they would love to add your dog to the fun. At the end of the day, we all go upstairs and sleep in my room with a baby-gate blocking the door, so there is no house roaming overnight. I also have room for crates if that’s what your dog needs to feel comfortable. I have one cat who is comfortable around dogs and knows where to hide if necessary. Please have your dog be familiar with cats or at least won’t attack her if she tries to make friends. I can accommodate special diets and know how to use a pill gun for medications.
“Jennifer and her family were fantastic hosts for Blake. They took the time to understand his special needs and quirks and took very good care of him. Thank you!!”

“Katherine is amazing! Biscuit loved her and her dog!! He had the best time and she kept me updated daily with pictures and text messages! I will absolutely recommend her to my family and friends and will be using her services again! Thank you Katherine!”

“Kyra was fantastic taking care of my mom's dog when she was in the hospital unexpectedly. He is a rescue and very skittish, but Kyra made him feel comfortable and right at home. She also sent photos and updates every day. Highly recommend Kyra for your furry family members!”

“Jen was amazing and so accommodating! Our dog sitter went MIA a few weeks before our wedding and we met with Jen and her husband and you can tell what dog lovers the family are! She worked around our crazy schedules and drop offs and also offered to watch my brothers dog too so the pups could be together for weekend! She sent lots of updates (quite comical ones as well) we will 100% be using Jen again and almost don’t want to leave this review simply because I don’t want others to know about her and book her up! THANK YOU!!”

“I left my dog Max with Leonard for a week while I was out of the country, and I couldn’t have asked for better care. Leonard did an amazing job he kept me updated with regular photos and messages, and Max was clearly happy, comfortable, and well cared for. When I picked him up, he looked great and was in excellent spirit. I really appreciate the attention and care Leonard gave him, and I’ll definitely be using him for all my future boarding needs. Highly recommend!”

“Angela was an absolutely fantastic sitter for our dog! From the moment we met her, we could tell she genuinely cares about animals. She was attentive, responsible, and kept us updated with daily photos and messages, which gave us much peace of mind while we were away. Our dog was happy and well cared for when we returned. Angela followed all of our instructions perfectly, including feeding instructions and walks. We will definitely be booking her again and highly recommend her to anyone looking for a trustworthy sitter!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals my entire life. I currently have a small Havapoo, but have had big dogs, cats, bunnies, and guinea pigs. I have experience with training, as well as administering medicine if need be. When I first moved away from my family, I was so nervous to try to find care for my pup while I was away! I am so thankful I have had amazing experiences with Rover, and I’m excited for the opportunity to give others an amazing experience, especially those who may be a little weary and nervous like I was at first! I work from home Monday - Friday, and have flexibility on the weekends so your pup will be in great hands with round the clock care! I have a fenced in yard and a very friendly Havapoo that is dying to keep your fur baby company! If staying in my home, I will absolutely follow any special instructions or needs for your dog to make them feel right at home and keep them in their routine. For clients home, I will always make sure I leave the home the way I found it, and of course keep your fur baby in their routine!
“Debbra was wonderful, and took great care of Grady. She texted me daily updates about how he was doing, and even sent pics which I appreciated. Would definitely use Debbra again and recommend her to others. :)”
“I recently booked Kate on Rover.com to watch my dog, Herbie, and she was absolutely incredible! From the moment we arrived, Herbie felt right at home with her. Kate clearly has a natural way with dogs, providing so much love and attention that Herbie didn’t even want to come home with me at the end of his stay! Kate kept me updated with plenty of messages and photos, so I always felt reassured that Herbie was happy, safe, and well cared for. It’s rare to find someone who treats your pup like their own, but Kate truly goes above and beyond. I wholeheartedly give her 5 out of 5 stars and will definitely be booking with her again. Highly recommend her to anyone looking for a caring and dedicated”

Our dog, Henry had a great overnight stay with Eric and Polly! He was pretty nervous at first meeting their dog and another dog they were watching, but within about 30 minutes they sent us update photos showing him completely relaxed and happily playing with them. We really appreciated all of the photos and updates they shared throughout his stay. We'd absolutely recommend Eric and Polly, and we'd be happy to have Henry stay with them again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
