“This is my first time leave in Tinkerbell alone with a sitter. Carrie made me feel very comfortable, sent updates and photos, and welcome Tinkerbell into her home. Tinkerbell and I both are very happy”

“We can't say enough about Margaret and the care she took of our beloved dog, Maisy. She sent many updates wih great pictures and we felt so comfortable that we had left our dog , for only the second time, in he care. Her dog and cat were also so welcoming to our dog which made her first experience with other pets a great one. We highly recommend Margaret to take wonderful care of your dog too.”

“Julie is amazing! From start to finish, she was quick to respond, provided many updates, photos and videos, and was so friendly, kind and professional. She and her family had a ton of patience for my boston terrier Lily, who is obsessed with playing tug of war and fetch. I never once worried about Lily. Julie was also very accommodating for my last minute request for a sitter, and I really appreciated that!! Don't hesitate to book her services! I definitely will again!”

About: I have a miniature schnauzer who I trained and raised from a puppy. I’m looking to gain more experience with all kinds of dogs. I am very interested in fostering later in life and I am missing my pup while I’m away at school. I know life can be hectic so I am excited to help anyone out a little and meet some new pets in my free time! I am in school to earn my associates. This fall I have most of my classes at night. So for the most part, I am available and looking to fill that time with some furry friends! Please feel free to reach out!! I know every pet is different and needs different things. I am very flexible and happy to cater to different situations as they come. I enjoy walking and exercising so I am happy to do long and short walks, parks and more. I have an anxious dog myself so I understand some pets need a little space when meeting new people and new environments. I’m looking to give your pets the best experiences possible and listen to any instructions you may have for them.

“Amazing dog sitter, would highly recommend. You can really tell that she and her husband care and love the dogs so much. So glad and reassured that Miso was in their hands for a week and had so much fun. Would book again for future trips!”

“Jennifer is amazing! She and her sweet family took care of our 2-year rescue Jake, a poodle mix, for three nights and it was a great success. From the moment I contacted Jennifer, she was enthusiastic, communicative, and an absolute pleasure. Jennifer kept us updated with photos, which was really helpful as we have never boarded him and hoped it would be a good experience for him and Jennifer. It exceeded our expectations! I can't recommend her highly enough and Jake can't wait to go back to Jennifer's house in the summer.”

“I cannot say enough great things about Ron! I want to go on a vacation just so Keyser can go over to his house and play again. Ron bonded so well with Keyser. He got plenty of exercise and I got plenty of pictures and great communication.”

“Malik was great. We contacted him a couple days before our trip because of his positive reviews and he didn’t disappoint. Pictures were sent daily and communication was good. Thank you Malik”

“Anne was wonderful with our puppy for a extended weekend stay! This was our first time boarding our 9 month old pup, but Anne’s regular updates and pictures put us at ease. She goes above and beyond to make sure your fur baby is comfortable during their stay. An added bonus - she has a gorgeous pup, Gracie, and other pup clients that were great company for our Mowgli during his stay. We look forward to having our pup stay with Anne in future!”

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
