“Tim and Ashley and their kids were wonderful hosts for our dog Penny while my wife and I were out of town. We were nervous at first about using a sitter since our dog has had bad separation anxiety in the past, but Penny took quickly to everyone in their home and had a great time! Tim and Ashley kept us updated with pictures and reports of all the fun Penny was having in their fenced in yard. They also let us know that she was eating, behaving well, and was perfectly happy and comfortable in their home. I highly recommend Tim and Ashley as dog sitters!”

“Thomas was absolutely awesome ! I am so thankful that we were able to find him. I have a 2 year old intact German shepherd and my husbands work closed on short notice for 2 weeks so we decided to take a vacation. I was scrambling to find some boarding for him but if you have a large power breed who isn’t neutered than you know it can be difficult to find places that accept them. The only boarding option I could find was a no contact facility where he would have been in a kennel the WHOLE time except for 3 30-1 hr potty breaks which were on a LARGER kennel area. Totally unacceptable to me. That’s when I started looking on Rover and was so glad to find Thomas. Not only does he care for your pet he also puts in the time and energy to exercise them which is so SO important to me. He was super flexible, gave me a ton of updates and still took Bear on walks/runs during this insane 95 degree heatwave we had. I totally trusted that he kept Bear safe during that time (walking in hot weather wise). This is a person who truly cares about animals and takes care of their physical, mental and emotional needs. I don’t know how to add pictures here but if I find out how to I will. Can’t say enough good things.”

“Julie took great care of my dog! It was my first time leaving her with someone outside of the family and she put my nerves at ease with constant communication, pictures and videos. She treated my girl like her own. Thanks so much, Julie!”

“5 Star Service as ALWAYS! I used Jeffany’s boarding services during Christmas and New Years. Her & her boyfriend treat her so well, I wasn’t sure she’d want to come back home with me! Lol! They are so great at communicating. Even letting me know of new behaviors they noticed just so I’m aware. I’m always grateful to have found you guys!! Thank you for caring about my baby K!”

“Dana was fantastic with our dog Dakota.Dakota is a little special dog who needs a lot of love and a lot of attention. She was abused before we got her and it just takes her a while in order to trust people by the third day. Dakota was very very comfortable when we went to pick her up. She was in attack mode and protecting Dana, which I take as a good sign because she only protects the people she loves. Dana was very accommodating to us. We had a problem with pick up, but she made it work I know when I go on our next trip we will be using Dana again because our dog Dakota loves her”

“Jennifer and her family were fantastic hosts for Blake. They took the time to understand his special needs and quirks and took very good care of him. Thank you!!”

“Kyra is perfect for our dog Dakota “Koti”. Koti has stayed with her twice and loves her. I think the feeling is mutual! We never want to use anybody else.”

“Amazing dog sitter, would highly recommend. You can really tell that she and her husband care and love the dogs so much. So glad and reassured that Miso was in their hands for a week and had so much fun. Would book again for future trips!”

“Wendalyn and Keith were wonderful! They were very easy to communicate with sent us a lot of pictures of our sweet girl, and even took her to Petco for a present—too kind! We will absolutely book with them again!”
“Stephanie was awesome. My dogs were in good hands and were well taken care of. I was sent pictures and videos of my dogs and they looked very happy. Would highly recommend.”

“So grateful for the excellent care they provided! We were so nervous about leaving our 11 year old dog with separation anxiety with someone else. Megan sent photos and updates daily and it was incredibly clear that Lily was having a great time and was so well cared for. Lily got daily walks, playtime, and cuddles. Lily takes medication multiple times a day that they had no problem administering. I ended up feeling like Lily was on a little vacation while we were away. Truly cannot say enough great things about the care they provided!”

About: I’ve taken care of animals my entire life. I currently have a small Havapoo, but have had big dogs, cats, bunnies, and guinea pigs. I have experience with training, as well as administering medicine if need be. When I first moved away from my family, I was so nervous to try to find care for my pup while I was away! I am so thankful I have had amazing experiences with Rover, and I’m excited for the opportunity to give others an amazing experience, especially those who may be a little weary and nervous like I was at first! I work from home Monday - Friday, and have flexibility on the weekends so your pup will be in great hands with round the clock care! I have a fenced in yard and a very friendly Havapoo that is dying to keep your fur baby company! If staying in my home, I will absolutely follow any special instructions or needs for your dog to make them feel right at home and keep them in their routine. For clients home, I will always make sure I leave the home the way I found it, and of course keep your fur baby in their routine!
“This is my first time leave in Tinkerbell alone with a sitter. Carrie made me feel very comfortable, sent updates and photos, and welcome Tinkerbell into her home. Tinkerbell and I both are very happy”

About: Hi! I’m a Registered Nurse, a dog lover, and the proud dog mom to Mr. Puppers, I work at home full time, and take frequent walks. Pet care fits very naturally into my daily routine. I work from home, so I’m able to plan my day around frequent potty breaks, walks, meals, playtime, and check-ins throughout the day. I’m very structured and attentive to routines, which helps pets feel comfortable and secure. Caring for my own dog, Mr. Puppers, is already part of my daily schedule. I care for pets by keeping their routines consistent and stress-free. In my home, pets get frequent potty breaks, walks, meals on schedule, playtime, and lots of attention since I work from home.

Our dog, Henry had a great overnight stay with Eric and Polly! He was pretty nervous at first meeting their dog and another dog they were watching, but within about 30 minutes they sent us update photos showing him completely relaxed and happily playing with them. We really appreciated all of the photos and updates they shared throughout his stay. We'd absolutely recommend Eric and Polly, and we'd be happy to have Henry stay with them again!

A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Every sitter on Rover is required to pass a background check before listing their services. This process confirms their identity and indicates they are not on the Department of Justice’s National Sex Offender Public Website or have any disqualifying offenses.
Beyond ID checks, you can review each sitter's star rating, read verified reviews from other pet parents, and see how many repeat clients they have. Every booking is backed by the Rover Guarantee, which includes up to $25,000 in eligible veterinary care. For more details, visit Rover's Trust & Safety page .
While each sitter sets their own vaccine requirements, staying up-to-date on your dog’s vaccines is the best way to be "boarding ready". Vaccinations help create a safe environment for all pets under a sitter’s care.
Many sitters in OH ask that dogs be up to date on core vaccines like the Canine Parvovirus, Canine Distemper, Canine Adenovirus, Bordetella, and Rabies. Cats may be required to have Feline Viral Rhinotracheitis and Rabies up to date.
By discussing your pet's health history early, you’re adding a layer of confidence for you and your sitter before the booking begins.
Emergency support is available by phone or email in English 24/7. When an incident occurs, we recommend that sitters contact our Trust & Safety team immediately so that they can connect your sitter with a board-certified veterinarian or offer other resources to help.
If a sitter needs to cancel at the last minute, Rover’s reservation protection means our team will work with you to find a suitable replacement as quickly as possible.
