“Julia was fantastic! She was kind, compassionate, and caring towards my kitties and she followed my instructions perfectly (since I have a cat that needs medication). She helped ease my anxiety, gave me updated pictures daily, and was quick to respond if I had any comments or questions. I will absolutely be using her services in the future!”

About: As an animal lover, I know pets are family—not just animals. I take pride in giving them the same love and attention they get at home. Whether it’s playtime, walks, feeding, or just extra cuddles, I’m here to make sure your pet feels happy and stress-free while you’re gone. As an elementary teacher, I have a structured schedule that actually works really well for pet care. I’m available before and after school, in the evenings, and on weekends. During breaks and summers, I have even more flexibility, allowing me to provide extended care, walks, and drop-in visits. I treat every pet like they’re my own. I focus on making them feel loved, safe, and comfortable—whether that’s sticking to their usual routine, giving them extra playtime, or just spending quality time with them. I also keep owners updated with messages and photos so you always know how your pet is doing.
“Susana did a great job. It was a godsend that she was able to be flexible and adjust things last minute to help me. She was also very fast at responding and gave me great notes/photos at the check ins. Thank you!”

“Brian was absolutely wonderful! He took great care of our puppy, Storm, on our wedding day. He updated us with pictures, and messages. He transported Storm to and from our wedding day pictures at Lakewood Park. He went beyond our expectations. He has set the bar high and we would give the highest recommendation to book with him!! Great job! Thank you so much Brian!!”

“Erin was great. Timely, great photo updates, and no news to report. Will definitely be reaching out to her again! That was the first time using Rover, and first time leaving my dog for a full weekend without a family member, and all went well!”

“Susan did an outstanding job taking care of Lucy during our time away. She arrived exactly on time for each drop-in visit, communicated clearly and consistently, and kept us well informed throughout. Lucy is a Belgian Malinois with plenty of energy, and Susan handled her confidently and professionally. It was clear Lucy was well cared for and comfortable in her care. We truly appreciated her reliability and attention to detail. I would absolutely recommend Susan to anyone looking for dependable, high-quality care for their pet.”

“Amanda was wonderful checking in on our boy. She took him on a walk, gave him lots of loves, and provided a sweet update and photo on her drop in. Looking forward to booking her again in the future!”

“Eva was amazing! She was so sweet and kind to my puppy, she was very punctual and followed all my instructions throughly! I would definitely recommend her to anyone and would love to book with her again!”

“Im a sitter on Rover myself and was so happy with the how much time and care she provided my boys while I was away. She stayed the whole time and sent lots of photos too. She went the extra mile too and left treats and water outside when my cat wanted to stay outside in my backyard when she was leaving. (Which, btw, is something he does regularly to me) I would definitely contact again on my next getaway.”

“My dogs were great. Brendan checked in every time and sent me pictures. My dogs are very calm and I can tell no stress that we were gone for a couple of days. Would absolutely ask Brendan again. Thank you!!!”

“Our anxious pup hasn't had anyone other than his mom and dad take care of him in many many months, but we knew we could trust Ethan to help us out so we could go to our daughter's concert. He took him on a nice walk to get some pent up energy out, sent us a picture to show us that Z was doing well, and left us a thorough message to ease our minds about how the drop-in went overall”

About: Hello! I’m Madeline, an avid animal lover. I’ve been my street’s pet sitter since I was 14, and have always been around dogs my entire life - big and small. For dogs, I have 2 years of experience doing routine visits which includes: play, food, potty breaks, and lots of pets. I’ve also had 2 years experience for watching cats which includes: food, litter, lots of pets! In the summer and winter, I am free all week for pet care. The rest of the year I am a full time art student. I will follow any instructions or advice provided first and foremost to keep both you and your pet comfy and happy. However without instructions, I will feed 2 times per day, visit 3 times for potty breaks for dogs, and let out litter daily for cats.
“Maura was wonderful. She was so attentive and sent amazing pictures. She’s reliable and has amazing communication. I will absolutely be using her in the future and I recommend her 100%!”

“Allan was great with my dog, Pippi. At the Meet & Greet he was very attentive to the details about what we needed during his drop-in. Pippi liked him right away and he was very good. You can tell he really enjoys being with pooches and giving them affection. He was very prompt in is arrival and sent seeral cute photos. Would highly recommend Allan!”

About: Hi! My name is Evelyn! I have taken care of all sorts of animals my whole life, From big dogs to small dogs and cats! I love all animals and I love giving them the care and attention they deserve! Your fur baby will be well cared for and safe with me! <3 I currently am attending nursing school and I work in a hospital as well! On the days I’m off work or not in school I love to help where I can!! I cannot except pets into my home at this time as I have a small apartment with 3 animals! But I most certainly will come to your home, and care for your pet!! Whether you need me to take your pet on a walk, feed them, play with them! That’s what I’m here for :)
About: I’ve had animals my whole life and genuinely love being around them. I currently have three dogs (a terrier, a mastiff-lab mix, and a pittie) who I’m obsessed with, plus my black cat who is my best friend. I also foster puppies and senior dogs, which has given me a lot of experience with pets who need a little extra patience, care, or attention. I’m super comfortable adjusting to different energy levels whether that means keeping up with a crazy puppy or going slow and gentle with an older dog. I used to work at a doggy daycare where I cared for 100+ dogs at a time, feeding, cleaning, walking, and just making sure everyone was safe and happy. That experience taught me how to handle all kinds of breeds, sizes, and personalities. Overall, I’ll treat your pets like they’re my own and make sure they feel safe, loved, and well taken care of :) I’m a college student so my schedule can be pretty flexible, especially during the summer and school breaks. That’s when I’m really looking to do more pet care because I love having something active and fun to fill my time, and being around animals is honestly my favorite thing. I’ll treat your pets just like my own, with lots of love, attention, and care. I know every pet is different, so I always make sure to follow whatever instructions you leave, whether that’s feeding routines, crating, medications, walks, or anything specific to their needs. I’m very attentive to their behavior and comfort level, and I’ll make sure they feel safe and relaxed in their environment. I also keep things clean and consistent so your pet stays happy and stress-free while you’re away.
“Thanks again for taking such good care of our dogs, and for adjusting to our schedule with our grandson’s arrival! It’s great to see the informative reviews and it’s clear they love you!”

Emilee was great with our 3 cats, two of which are pretty shy and wary of strangers. She seemed to be very patient with them and it showed in the many photos she sent us during her drop in visits. Emilee had no issues giving our two cats their medications while we were gone and didn’t seemed fazed at all when we told her she might need to be patient and follow one of our cats around until she tires out since she doesn’t like getting her medication. Emilee’s care for animals showed in her communication and photos during her drop ins and we will definitely book with her again.

Maddy is responsive, attentive, and very sweet. She has a ton of experience with animals of all types and stages which made her a perfect choice for Oliver, who is older and just lost his sweet brother. He needed extra care and that was no trouble for Maddy. Oliver can be timid, but came out for Maddy without issue. This made my heart happy. I would happily book Maddy again. 💕

Use the search filters to narrow down sitters whose specific experience or environment meets your pet's needs. When reaching out to your sitter, outline your pet's care routine and use the Meet & Greet to walk your sitter through your expectations.
A Meet & Greet is a short introductory meeting between you, your pet, and a sitter. It can take place in person or virtually, although we recommend in-person so that your pet can get to know your sitter or the new environment. During the Meet & Greet, you will have a chance to walk through your pet's routine, medical needs, and unique quirks. Take the time to ask your sitter questions about their skills and expertise, and make sure the fit feels right for everyone. Most pet parents and sitters on Rover welcome Meet & Greets because the process can give confidence and peace of mind for service experiences, especially for longer stays or first-time bookings.
Sitters on Rover set their own cancellation policy, which you can find on their profile under their calendar availability.
Cancelling before a booking begins and before the sitter's cutoff time qualifies you for a full refund. Same-day cancellations for walks, day care, and drop-ins follow the full refund policy. Otherwise, for dog boarding and house sitting, you will receive a 50% refund for the first seven days of the booking and a 100% refund for the remaining days when you cancel the same day a booking should begin.
If your sitter needs to cancel within seven days of the booking's start date, then our reservation protection will kick in. This means our support team works with you to find a replacement sitter.
